I purchased a TravelZoo voucher and used it on Valentines Day, looking for an intimate evening of cozy love, and though there were hiccups along the way (the voucher was a hassle for the desk clerk, and there was a lot of partying going on), we mostly got what I was hoping for. Their little water/cookies welcome bag was nice (I came back multiple times for more cookies), and the waterfront room had a little balcony with a great view (see the accompanying photo). Fuego, their restaurant was good (though pricey), and their “esplanade” (walkway) was a fun. Onsite parking seemed overpriced, but maybe that’s just how it is nowadays.
The location of this hotel is perfect for gorgeous scenery and a view of the Queen Mary. Lots of walking trails nearby to enjoy the Long Beach waterfront. The hotel staff is fantastic and very nice. I love the vibe of the hotel. The decor makes it interesting and unique.
I booked this hotel because I have been a Hilton member for over 10 years and am usually loyal to the Hilton brand. I will definitely disassociate myself with Hilton after the terrible experience at this hotel. I booked through Hilton and when I checked in, I was told that the booking price did not match what the Hotel was charging that night. I did have a 2 night confirmation email that I received from Hilton and showed it upon check-in. The front desk worker, Alexis, called my hotel room to harass me and my family because of the price difference. Then the front desk manager, Dayshona, called me while she was at the gas station to again harass me because of the price difference. When I explained to her that I booked through Hilton and if there was a mistake in the price, I should not be held accountable, it should be Hilton. She proceeded to say that I have to take that up with Hilton because I did not book directly with maya hotel. She said, “you have to deal with Hilton about that, not me,” She then proceeded to scream over the phone from the gas station that I have to immediately leave the premises. The level of professionalism was the worst I have ever encountered with any hotel, I especially NEVER expected this from Hilton.…
This is a cute hotel and they have a nice pool and water view. I would say it's on the smaller end, which is nice and 'quaint'. It's not walking distance from really anything, so you would have to drive or take an uber, though it really isn't far from downtown long beach with lots of restaurants and entertainment. this is a summer time destination.
Ants everywhere. Horrible housekeeping. Woke up with 10+ bug bites and asked for the housekeeping. Christie answered my call and asked me if I went for a hiking yesterday. I woke up with bunch of bug bites around my torso and it was very unpleasant that my honesty was questioned. They need to employee better people who really care for their clients. Then, I found the empire of ants between the living room and a bathroom. How will they combat COVID 19 while they cannot even take care of the bugs in a hotel room?
