This is an old school Residence Inn property, with rooms that have been refreshed and therefore feel a bit newer, in spite of the old architecture of the place. It reminded me of other original RI built in the 90s. Rooms are newer and nicer inside than they look. Front desk was very helpful and lovely to deal with. Breakfast was good but they only had one coffee machine and it ran out, which meant dragging staff out of the kitchen to refill. There should be AM coffee everywhere, not just one place. Bed was super comfortable. WIFI good. I can't say I'd vacation here but for a night or two, it's right off the 405 and down the street from LGB.
I have stayed at multiple Residence Inns as I enjoy having a kitchen and a free breakfast. However, it should be noted that this one is an older motel style property near a high traffic area resulting in higher noise levels. There is lots of parking which is essential - you need either a car rental or an Uber to get anywhere. It's only a 10-15 minute drive to downtown long beach however. Rooms are clean but basic, housekeeping staff are out pretty early and you can hear them if you have a lower floor room. Gym is poor. Equipment is limited to a few cardio machines, two benches (adjustable but poor quality), and dumbbells only range from 5-50lbs. The only upside is a water bottle filling station. Breakfast is good but hours are limited (6-9am). Plastic plates, utensils, and lack of recycling is unacceptable in 2020. I hated eating breakfast and throwing out so much plastic every morning. For this reason alone I can't stay here again.…
This Residence Inn has a convenient location near the Long Beach Airport and the freeway, but this means plane and traffic noise all day and night. Our large studio room with a full-size kitchen alcove had 3 closets and morning sun, but no safety bars for the bathtub and a view of trash bags dumped along the highway from our second floor room (623). The breakfast had good variety with seating both indoors and out, reception was efficient, and parking is ample. Overall the pluses outweighed the minuses.
The nice and clean room . Very quiet place. In the kitchen provides everything we need. Feel like home. And indoor and outdoor breakfast areas.A lot of parking . Close to everything. Staff are friendly.
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during a recent trip to LA with my husband. It’s in a good location for onward travel and very good for getting around greater long beach area. The staff were super helpful and although renovations are underway, it did not take away from the wide variety of choice on offer at breakfast and a good standard. The room was large and contained everything we needed to eat in, if we felt like it; which we didn’t! Maid service also good. Lots of space in the room and the pool is also good. Good value for money!
