I've been vacating in Laguna Beach for years but this is the first time I've stayed at the Surf and Sand Resort. The Resort is 1st class all the way. The staff were professional and attentive. The food was well prepared and served promptly. The rooms were spacious with great ocean views.

Beachfront paradise! Great Location. The staff is there for all of your needs. All the great amenities. Great place for families. Valet parking ease, just exit your car and enjoy! The view is spectacular! Downtown Laguna has wonderful art, dinning and shopping.

I am here now listening to waves from my bed it like being in heaven. I love my rooms my bed is facing the sea. Had dinner here last night and the food was brilliant. The staff are so nice all ourneeds are being met. It’s a charming hotel with a real boutique feel. I love that pool is open late.

We go every year to Pageant of the Masters, Sawdust festival. We look forward to Laguna Beach every summer. Lots of beautiful shops, restaurants, art. We enjoyed the beach. Our hotel provided us with beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels. My favorite place! Let me just say our hotel is insanely stunning!

Beautiful place would have been absolutely perfect have they had Air conditioning or portable AC units in all rooms. Impossible to sleep or get cool in summer months. Unable to sleep with the sound of the crashing waves because doors cannot be closed and salt air back spray covered the inside of the room and on the floors through balcony. If they had AC or portable units I would give it a five star plus rating. But never again would I go back unless they have it

The positive feedback I will give is that yes the staff was very friendly. Check In was awkward because there were so many people in the lobby but no organization. There really wasn't a line or anything. The fact that there is no AC is fine, but it needs to be advertised IN BIG AND BOLD lettering so the expectation is set. The thermostat in the room goes down to 50 degrees so naturally I thought that was for the AC and it's for a heating unit. A simple label on that would be fine. The ceiling fan barely worked. It was a joke. We had to use the loud ass portable fan that was in the closet. The closet barely fit everything that was already in it. I wasn't even told what the key was for to get into the refrigerator. That was weird. Housekeeping came to clean when were were getting ready to leave so I asked them to come back and they never did. I had to call in the late afternoon to have the room serviced. For what I'm paying, at the bare minimum, I am expecting the room to be served on a daily basis. If you re struggling with coast you can do away with Turn-Down Service and make sure the essentials are actually done. The rooms overall need a makeover/update. The fixtures were covered in dust. It was hard to find the an outlet to plug in a phone charger. The courtyard outside the first floor where my room was was filthy. The nightly rate of this hotel is not worth what I got.…

NO AIRCONDITIONING - How can a hotel anywhere in Southern California have no air-conditioning? Rooms are perpetually stuffy - even with the balcony door wide open. Poor shower water pressure. Pillows that make airline pillows look like the height of luxury. All of this for 1K/night. Not to mention the outdated and tired decor (bed linen that has seen better days). We were seduced by the favorable reviews - not sure where those individuals actually stayed as the reviews bear little resemblance to this hotel. Only reason not giving it 1 star is that the staff are clearly trying inspite of the challenging work environment.

I have been going to Surf & Sand for 20 years, and now it is a place my family and I go every summer. From top to bottom, the Surf & Sand hotel is great from it's location right on the beach, to the great food and the great staff. This is the only place to stay in Laguna Beach!
