Detailed Reviews
My husband and I booked Alaya Escape on the spur of the moment - the immediate benefit for us was that it was pet friendly for our doggo. The benefits didn’t stop there though, the Manager (Craig) met us on site after hours and couldn’t have been more helpful.
The room itself was lovely - well equipped kitchen, cosy living room with USBs filled with movies provided and a beautiful fireplace. A huge bath overlooked both the TV and the view.
The bedroom has everything you need, including screened windows so we could listen to the rain all night if we wanted!
The complex has a nice chill out area with books and games as well as a pool. There is a flotation tank and sauna at an extra cost.
We absolutely loved the complimentary breakfast hamper - so generous and tasty!
While we were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves I don’t think you’d notice the other residents too much. It’s very private in the layout. It would also be a great spot to grab a few of your friends and go and chill for a few days to catch up. Thank you for having us! (Alex, Bel and Louie)

As a busy couple who have 5 kids between us and a couple of extras who we have taken in, a relaxing weekend was exactly what we needed and definitely what we got. From the minute we arrived we felt welcomed into not just a ‘hotel’ but into a home. Craig is a great guy who made us feel more like friends than just ‘tenants’. The complimentary breakfast was huge and exactly what you would want. We were able to cook our own dinners with all utensils provided in the kitchen in our room. The Legion room we stayed in was perfect for us. Spa, fireplace, kitchen, gorgeous shower and the best views ever from our balcony. Exactly what we needed to relax and will definitely visit again.

A magic review to read Tammy and makes me feel good to read that. It directly means that we are being successful in cultivating a 'feeling' in guests that they are cared for in our space. We do very much want the experience we offer here to reflect openly 'who we are and what we do'. That's to say that we are down-to-earth and genuine and we offer opportunities for people to prioritize their wellbeing and connections in the way that we do. Thank you again Tammy, it means plenty! Craig, Molly and the girls.

If you want a manicured 5 star resort with pool cocktails, then head to Noosa. If you enjoy an eclectic mix of Balinese inspired scenery, Qld country fireplaces and an all round sense of the Aussie adventure and a touch of Larrikin, then this is a must!
Drive up front the quaint township of Mooloolah along some easy dirt roads to find this unassuming gem hidden in the hills. The grounds blend Balinese themed figures with heliconias, rhaphis palms, bamboo with Australian natives. The cosy stilt homes overlook the grounds and give you a beautiful feeling of seclusion.
The hosts are classic Aussies that will share a yarn, point you in the right direction, or simply help you find that “peace” of paradise that they enjoy.
We bought local curry one night, and cooked in the well equipped kitchen with fresh local fare on another.
There is plenty to do locally, or choose to do nothing.
For us it was a drive to Kondalilla Falls and spend the morning hiking, then lunch and shopping in Montville. At Alaya Escape we partook in the Sauna, plunging into the icy evening pool (which is a transformative experience you should definitely try) and then rounding out the experience with a float in the Magnesium Float Tank. Simply the best.
Visit the Buddhist temple next door and grab a Chai.
Thanks for looking after us - we look forward to visiting again when the batteries need a recharge.

Hey Jason, do you want a job?! Your review makes me want to come and stay here. Missed your calling there mate on the writing front and makes us feel really good that you were able to experience and capture what we have been working very hard to create. Glad you enjoyed the decompression package, as using the floatation tank after saunaing and cold water immersion is something that needs to be experienced and is very difficult to put into words. I hope you head back another time and thanks heaps for coming to our 'peace' of paradise and sharing that experience so well with others. All the very best. Craig, Molly and the girls.

Grounds and pool area are beautiful, room was well appointed - spa, fire and view were amazing. Could be relaxing if you couldn’t hear others in their rooms through paper thin walls. Unfortunately our stay was soured when we received a text from Craig at 9.30pm about music coming from our room. Fair enough if it was a raging party, but we are a couple in our 50’s and are hardly your nightclubbing type. We could hear music from next door and down below and had no complaint but as I noted, very thin walls and 3 rooms in very close proximity. We decided to leave the next morning although we had booked for 2 nights as our experience was ruined by 9.30 pm the previous night. We remain very disappointed.
If you are looking for seclusion, the 3 rooms together are not the place for you.
And by the way, don’t bring your steaks as there is no BBQ to cook on despite being advertised as so.

Thanks Lee. I am open to constructive feedback and it disappoints me when someone plays the victim and wants to tee off on us even when we try our best to accommodate issues. In this case, issues created by you. We received complaints from 2 separate bungalows about your "low noise" levels and, regardless of the time, people don't come here to listen to ACDC etc on blast. I asked you if "you could be so kind as to turn the music down a little bit" because I have to consider the rights of everyone who come here. We do not get complaints about noise often and your music was well up. It was your decision to depart and I chose NOT to charge you for the vacated additional night. You failed to mention that also I see. We were supportive and wanted you to experience the place, but you were unhappy at being ASKED with respect and courtesy to turn your music down. It is a fine line dealing with people who don't choose their destination with dilligence. We are not a party destination. We want people to enjoy themselves and most do even if they have had drinks and are listening to music. I cannot allow that enjoying of yourself to be at the expense of others' right and opportunity to do the same. The BBQ was out of use due to renovations, which I informed you of. Interesting how that was not a problem until you were asked to drop your music slightly. Your assertions about 'paper thin' walls I flatly reject and I do know that one secret of success is when WE ALL take responsibility and look at how WE can do things better. I will reflect upon how we can for future reference. Even though this did not work out for you and I don't agree with much of this review, I sense that you are good people and I sincerely wish you the best of luck for whatever the future brings.

It was great having you Ricky and congrats again on the 32nd year together. BIG effort and great to see you both celebrate the occasion doing what you did. You probably saw more of the Sunshine Coast in 4 days then we did and tried all of the facilities in between. Awesome to watch two people together for so long, get along so well. Great having you and we hope to see you again! All the best for the year ahead! Craig, Molly and the girls.

As soon as we arrived at Alaya escape we immediately started to relax, welcomed into lovely Balinese style gardens, with a pool and plenty of outdoor lounge areas to unwind. The perfect place for my partner to surprise me with a birthday weekend away. We stayed in the beautiful Ubud cabin complete with a spa bath and fire place, perfect for cosy winter nights. The kitchen was self-contained and a yummy breakfast hamper was provided on the first day.
Craig and Molly have done a great job to create an environment conducive to relaxation, connection and rejuvenation. Thank you for a wonderful stay and for your welcoming hospitality.

Absolute paradise on Blackall Mountain. We spent two days of bliss in a lovely cabin set amongst the tropical trees and plants surrounding the property. Comfortable airy room with stunning view out into the trees, and the gorgeous pool below. You can hear birdsong all day, smell the freshness of the plants and hear trickling water from the water fountains. All senses are awakened and add to the feeling of zen. Large spa in room and kitchenette allowing for some self-catering. The breakfast hamper was ideal for making a nice cooked breakfast in the morning. Craig, the host, was a very friendly and helpful with local information. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing an escape. We will be going back.

Alaya Escape is the peaceful and relaxing holiday you deserve. Close enough to Maleny or the beach for a day trip or you might just want to relax with a book in your well appointed room listening to the sounds of the rain forest. Take advantage of the sauna, float tank and in room massages offered, afterwards I was so relaxed, it was the best sleep I had had in years. Craig and Molly made us feel so welcome. Throughly enjoyable, we will be back.

Alaya Escape is a stunning retreat tucked in the rainforest, featuring a beautiful bedroom overlooking an oasis-like pool. The combination of the sauna and pool provided a truly relaxing therapy experience.
Craig, the host, was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable in physical, mental, and spiritual wellness and longevity.
The room was really nice, clean, fully stocked with a fridge, oven, stovetop, nice bathroom, and had a beautiful view of the rainforest. We were provided with a breakfast platter which included pancakes, eggs, bacon, buns, cheese and more.
The retreat was the perfect weekend getaway, offering exactly what was needed for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Highly recommended.
Thank you Craig, it was such a great weekend away.

My partner and stayed in the ubud room for 2 nights and we felt absolutely rejuvenated. Didn't know how badly we needed to wind down and just relax. Craig's kindness is beyond measure, and we feel forever thankful that he was able to take care of us and make us feel like we were right at home. We both had in-room massages, and even though I'm 6 months pregnant, I was still able to get the absolute most out of massage. My partner is quite often a stress head in our everyday life, so it was really something to see him just sink into himself and truly relax for a couple of days. I'm so thankful for this place and for our trip. It's just what we needed.

Hi Mariel,
I wouldn't have a problem with that as long as there was no impact on other guests, which I am sure there wouldn't be. She could also play with my little girls as well and give you guys some YOU time.
Thanks for getting in touch.
