This hotel has the best people and service. Everyone helps you out with a smile.

The rooms are relatively new and have wood floorings which feel a lot cleaner than carpets.

My only suggestion is to either clean/wash/spot clean the couch in the room or just replace it with something that is leather. The couch has more than a few stains that makes it difficult to use.

The hotel is nice and modern but ve prepared to pay $40 for valet parking because is compulsory, pay for the wifi (what hotel charges for wifi in 2020, total ripoff!), and complete disorganization from the staff. Many families could not access the pool because of the covid 19 limits. I think this should be said on their website before booking or they should refund you for not being able to use the pool. I mean, many of us visit the a hotel to sit by the pool, not be stuck in our rooms paying for wifi. Overall, I will choose a different hotel next time.

Room: Residential Kitchen Suite,
TL:DR - This property exceeded my expectations. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The rooftop bar is a plus. Staff is top notch and very helpful.

I came to the Marriott Irvine Spectrum for a little R&R / Work From Here. Upon check-in, the staff is warm and welcoming and makes sure that your stay is perfect. With COVID restrictions, there are many changes, but they detail everything you need in a handy one sheeter.

Parking was valet only at the moment. The valet staff is fantastic. Kudos to them for managing the Hive and Honey guests and hotel guest to make sure everyone was taken care of.

The Residential Kitchen Suite was perfect for me since I like to do a little cooking and this room had it all. Plates, pots, pans, cutting boards, a full sized fridge, microwave, dishwasher and two little electric burner. The room felt clean and there was even sanitizing wipes left next to the bed if you want to make sure things are extra clean. The bed was super comfy and I fell asleep as soon as I laid down at the end of the day. There is also a nice little desk to work at and a couch that is placed near the windows so you can relax and watch the sun rise/set. Plenty of USB ports and outlets all over the room. I like the fact that the floors are hardwood. It makes it feel more modern. Also, the automated blinds were a big plus in my book. Loved being able to control both the sheer and blackout shades independently.

Note for Tall Guests: The light fixture over the island is placed perfectly at head-butting height. Be warned.

This property climbed the ranks to becoming one of my favorite properties in Orange County. Can not wait to return!

As loyal Titanium Elite member, getting back to support to the Marriott business amid the Covid-19 pandemic felt good. However, this hotel staff seemed not to appreciate such an effort by members risking their health despite good effort by Marriot to keep places cleaned, there is still a risk.
I asked for an upgrade to celebrate my birthday- (as my house underwent unplanned urgent repairs) which understandingly is subject to availability. The front desk did not make an effort to check for upgrade while she had an attitude, maybe because I asked. She informed me that all lager rooms were booked, which was a complete falsehood. I checked my application and informed her that I was not looking for a free room, I can book the larger room if she is willing to reimburse the balance of points I used to book my stay. 1.5 hr after, without a response or update, she came back to inform me that someone has cancelled and there was availability. This is without addressing her falsehood about the hotel being completely booked for larger rooms. Ruined my evening while I sat there waiting for an action. In addition, she did not even acknowledge my birthday. What an unnecessary hustle at Marriott Irvine Spectrum.
This is was the first time for my wife to visit Bogota and Ayeisha your W insider was superb. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay and wedding anniversary and Vday celebrations was memorable. The staff was amazing and the location had access to many places to eat within distance. Thank you W Bogota.

I have been excited to stay here since this hotel opened several years ago.

Love the design and the feel of this property. They have thought carefully about what the modern traveler is looking for. Good balance between corporate and leisure travel too...this place works well for both audiences. Rooms are well-appointed with everything you need. Had a decent sleep.

What were the misses? The valet parking of over $40 is outrageous. This is suburbia...not downtown LA. The lady checking me in didn't crack a smile and midway asked her co-worker to "handle this one". Not the warm welcome you would hope for. There was no acknowledgment of my Titanium status. No explanation of my benefits, club access. No acknowledgment that they had done nothing with my suite upgrade. I had requested a quiet room but they placed me on the noisiest side of the building. The rooms dont have black out blinds..quite a lot of light flowing in from the sides.

I get all these may seem trivial to you but this wouldnt be much of a review if I only focused on the good elements!

I give this hotel a solid 5/10 for my stay but it could’ve easily been a 7-8/10 had housekeeping cleaned the room more thoroughly before check-in.

My stay:
Mini-staycation with wife and 1 year old infant in the King room with pool view on 8th floor on new year’s eve. I am Gold elite through Bonvoy.

The Good:
This is a new hotel so design is modern and clean, very nicely done. While not as playful as the W it provides a nice ambience.

The bad:
The floors were dirty. There were crumbs and hair from previous guest. I am a clean freak so it bugs me, what bugs me more is the infant likes the floor because he cannot walk yet.

The other is the shower. It took almost ten minutes for the water to get warm. The water turned warm at the last moment when I committed to take a cold shower, even then the temperature fluctuated.

Lastly is the parking which was valet only for $39 on this night. I am used pay for parking in SF, Seattle, Honolulu even up to 50% of room rate but this is Irvine. No one pays for parking where land is plenty. I wasn’t about to hand over keys to my fast car to young guys. At least give me an option to pay and self park.

I usually do not highlight personnel/staff in hotel reviews but this particular stay was extraordinary in terms of the service and professionalism of Brian at the front desk. My reservation covered two rooms and a third on a different date and he could not have been more welcoming and accommodating during the check-in. The rooms as usual are fantastic. I was disappointed by the extremely few bourbons offered at the Honey & Hive Rooftop Bar. By now the choices should have evolved into more than 1 premium brand. The M Club Lounge's appetizers and atmosphere are fine (you couldn't ask for more and better seating options) but from my observations over a handful of visits the service just needs a little more upkeep (beverage machine maintenance and utensil availability). If it weren't for the last two items mentioned i would give a 5 rating.

Stayed here on 9/4 - 9/5 the stay was decent but was charged for an additional day that I never booked or stayed on 9/2. I have all of my hotel receipts Paid for 9/4 & 9/5 and the hotel manager/ front desk agent Eric Santana said that they will not refund me unless I can provide a cancellation confirmation for 9/2. ( which of course I will not have one since I never booked it) in turn I asked for proof that I had booked 9/2 and they could not provide me with that information either but yet told me that I will not be receiving a refund.
I called Marriott Loyalty Customer Service and spoke with Alex he also confirmed that He did not show any bookings for me on 9/2 and will escalate my issue to accounting for additional review. Thank you Alex also I have another pending transaction From this hotel for another day but Eric inform me that it will fall off my account tonight which I doubt so if you are planning on staying here double check your bookings and bill for they will give you the run around I spoke to 5 people and nobody was helpful at all. So the manager is going to charge me for an additional day but cannot provide that I even stayed there on that day!

We booked 2 nights, Friday checked in, and supposed to check out on Sunday.
But I ended up stepping out on Saturday noon.

At first we were arranged at 14F, where is pretty close to roof lunge bar at 16F.
I bet their subwoofer is solid because it penetrated into my room.

I called the front, and they changed me to 9F, which was better without bar music.
But the room is still facing highway, and the worst part is that I can hear valet parking spot at the entrance down beneath us. People had limo-hammer were yelling after midnight.

Then I decided to walk away on Saturday noon, telling them I am not staying anymore, do not charge 2nd day valet parking fee to me. And the front desk said if I leave in the middle of the trip, they have to charge me with penalty fee.

I said "I managed to checked out precisely before 12pm of 1st night stay, and I won't use your facility and any service anymore, yet you want to charge me with penalty it does not make any sense." Then the front desk grabbed her supervisor (I supposed). Supervisor said "we are happy to check you out, but regarding your redeemed points, you have to contact Marriott Bonvoy Member Service"

Then we left.

Pros: facility is ok. room is clean, and the layout is spacious. Decent Gym.

Cons: Noise. Rooftop lunge bar at 16F noise penetrates thru the structure. Rooms where facing highway will have noise a lot. Saw one glass panel for elevator floor commanding was broken. Mandatory valet parking cost 42USD/night.

If you really need to stay for rest, try to avoid high floor and whichever facing highway.

Upscale high rise Marriott walking distance from the Spectrum mall.

Booked a corner kitchen studio suite on points and as a Gold Bonvoy member was assigned a room on the 10th floor. Liked the layout of the room as it felt like an upgraded Residence Inn with fresher design and great views through the floor to ceiling windows.

Heard minimal noise from the street but could hear a lot of hallway door slamming through the evening and morning hours.

Valet only, but the valet guys are quick and friendly.

Note: there is a rooftop bar that gets a lot of foot traffic so the extra people coming and going will make the valet and lobby areas a bit more hectic in the evening hours.

Hi there! The Residential Suites do not have a door separating the living area from the bedroom. They do have a full kitchen in addition to the bedroom + living area, which is separated by an island. The One-Bedroom Suites do have separate living rooms and bedrooms, plus the kitchen.
