Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas is a popular choice among travelers seeking proximity to airports, dining, and shopping. Guests have called out the hotel's pool amenities, including slides and a lazy river, as enjoyable, despite some concerns about ongoing renovations.
However, opinions on value and noise level vary, with many guests feeling the hotel is overpriced and disturbed by construction noise and lively children. While the atmosphere and rooms receive mixed reviews, citing both comfort and outdatedness, the service quality also seems inconsistent, with reports of both attentive and lackluster experiences.

Detailed Reviews
The hubby and I took a spontaneous trip from Vegas to Palm Desert and we just decided to stop in and get a room for the night. We came in at about 9am Saturday and requested a standard king room. I figured the room wouldn’t be ready until about 3 or 4pm since it was Saturday so we planned to hang out at the adult pool all day long. Service, drinks, and amenities were awesome!!! There is construction going on at the pool behind us since they’re building a larger pool but it didn’t bother us.
Our room was ready within an hr and it was a pleasant surprise! The room was huge with a step-down seating area, the TV was huge, bathroom was huge, etc. All the outlets are placed so conveniently around the room which is a huge plus. AND there is an automatic night light under the bed so when you wake up in the middle of the night you can see where you’re stepping. I would definitely stay here again! The place is clean, beautiful, and great service in every department.
Thanks everyone!

Just completed a 4 night stay at the Hyatt Regency and it turned out to be a good choice for us. The resort itself is beautiful, with a location right off 111 less than a half hour from the airport.
Our room, which we booked on points (which, in our experience, usually means we end up with a mediocre room) was large and overlooked the golf course. Service was fine, with the concierge Paula Spencer providing lots of great tips on hikes and other activities in the area. 2 restaurants are on the property, one high end and the other more bar-food type, but dining options are literally all over the place within a couple miles outside the resort. The fitness center (open 24x7) is large, well maintained, and quite busy, and there are several swimming pools and hot tubs available when the weather cooperates. We were disappointed that the water park development is still not complete (and looks to be several months away).
Pluses: large room with a great view, friendly staff, several pools (some adults-only), nice fitness center, good location, beautiful grounds
Negatives: Water park enhancements not complete, $23/day parking, no 'convenience store', small lobby

The hotel is beautiful, with gorgeous golf courses, tennis courts, pools and water slides. The customer service was the best I have yet to experience in all my years of traveling (40+). One employee, Antonio, from the front door area, went above and beyond to make my experience positive. He brought me coffee packets at 6 in the morning when I ran out of the ones in my room. Plus he brought extra cups, which I hadn't thought to request. All of the front area employees were gracious and helpful. The room was thoroughly cleaned, without the annoying disinfectant odor that is sometimes unavoidable. The bed was super comfy. I love all white bedding--it's easier to doublecheck the cleanliness. Patrick Howard-Wells also contributed to my awesome stay by enabling a special request I had made. I appreciate everyone's efforts to make the guests feel welcome and safe. I could have done without the kids riding their scooters in the interior common areas, but I guess if parents don't mind them riding the scooters inside their own homes, they don't mind them helping to destroy others' property. The buildings are well insulated though, and outside noise was almost imperceptible once inside my room. I can't wait to return!

As local la residents We use to stay at this property often throughout the year. The property use to cater to all age groups and was well maintained and at a price point that was affordable but also on a upper class experience. The golf adult pool and workout room use to cater to adults. The last couple years the property has become dated and has allowed too many pets at one time on property. Barking was consistent through out the day and night on our first floor. We enjoy walking outside and like a first level room however we had other guests dogs run into our room when we opened our sliding door.
It looks like the resort will be adding more slides for the kids pool which is great for families w children. Parents bring their kids into work our rooms now instead of opting for other care so we endured crying throughout our workout . As for Adult couples or singles I would advise choose elsewhere if you want to relax.
We tried visiting the spa but itS rather small and the last few times it’s been overcrowded with younger guests who didn’t know spa etiquette. We found out they sell a monthly spa entrance to locals so the men’s side had a Couple local men who know the staff and were able to take over the spa by throwing towels over light fixtures to make it darker and talking loudly as if it were their own home. I’m Hyatt member and will return to this brand. It not to this property.

What’s not to love about Palm Springs? We’re asked all the time why we keep going back time after time and the answer is simple…… Why wouldn’t we? The Hyatt Regency Indian Wells offers guests everything they could ask for when it comes to a Palm Springs experience. You pull up to the Hotel and instantly in awe of the grounds, golf course clubhouse and the landscaping. At the lobby the towering Palms and Water features dance for your enjoyment while the valet leap to your service. The check in process is quick and the different room categories offer Golf, Mountain or Pool side views. If you’re looking for more room, the family villa’s offer beautiful and more private options for those discerning guests. Step outside and take in the grounds with all the beautiful flowers, plants and palm tree’s everywhere you look. The property offers family pools with waterslides, lazy river and plenty of activities to keep the kids busy, or an Adult only pool outfitted with Cabanas, a small canteen bar area and music for guests looking to escape. The two PGA championship golf courses “Players” and “Celebrity” courses are adjacent to the Hotel on the neighboring property. The valet can whisk you over to club house and help you offload your clubs so you can check in and relax before your game. If Golf isn’t your thing, at night the Mini-Golf course is set up for families to enjoy. The Golf courses offer some of the best views in the Coachella Valley and they are in great condition to play on. The Dining at the Hotel is limited but if you’d like to stay in and eat, the food quality is good and we’d give it 3-4 stars. However, for people looking for higher end meals, El Paseo Drive is a 10min drive or Uber away and the strip offers some fantastic restaurants to pick from. Some of our Favourites on El Paseo are Il Corso, Mastro’s and Pacifica. At night the gas fire cauldrons are lit for guests to relax and enjoy the evening musicians that are often brought in. The Spa Agua Serena is beautiful and provides several water features to relax by before or after your treatment. The Gym on the property is well equipped but in the morning hours from 7-8am it can become quite busy, so wake up earlier or sleep in and let the crowds dissipate. Hyatt Regency Indian Wells is a beautiful property that will provide an excellent Palm Springs experience for anyone looking to visit the area. The Hotel isn’t overpriced, offers plenty of options for daily activities and a great location in the heart of Indian Wells.

I have Hyatt status and we are really loyal to the brand! We travel a lot! I just got back from a weekend with my family and close friends and we had such a great trip! We stayed in a bungalow with a firepit and the kids had the best time sitting outside by the fire with us and making smores. The bungalows are huge and give you so much room to relax! They are perfect for a family. There is a pull out sofa, fridge, microwave, massive bathroom with stand alone bath tub and seperate shower its fantastic. We spent the day at he pool in a cabana and it was realaxing and fun. We stayed in and the kids played and we had room service and the kids menu is so reasonably priced - its nice to have that option and super healthy food choices available on an expsanive menu. The staff is fantastic, the breakfast was delicious and its a great place to stay with a family. They are in the process of building a fantastic waterpark that will open in a few months so be advised this is happening but it didnt interupt our trip at all - we didnt have a room nearby nor was there much noise when we were there. They also have an adults only pool which I thought was nice. The kids love the water slide but it will be even better when the expansive waterpark opens. We have stayed a few times and have always loved our time here. Courtney thank you for always taking great care of us - you are amazing! Nigi one of the managers and Armando the pool manager went the extra distance for us and we cant thank you enough! Our family will be back for many weekends this year!

We arrived on a Saturday for a quick 1 night getaway to celebrate my bday/anniversary. Paula,Bob,Zach,Jesse and the Valet staff were all very informative, helpful and overall great! The front desk and check in was a bit ridiculous. Stayed in a 2 bedroom Villa and requested early check in at 1. I know it is not guaranteed so I was ok when we showed up a bit before 1 and was told room would be ready in 1.5-2 hours. It was a bit cold and windy at the time so I went back a little after 3pm to see what our time frame was and the front desk didn't even have a room number for me and I was told with a hint of snarkiness "they didn't know when a Villa would be ready but check in wasn't until 4pm sooo..." After going to concierge and speaking with Paula, who helped me plan our special stay earlier that week, she immediately came back with a room number and let me know it was ready. We are talking in a matter of like 1 min, walking from front desk to the concierge desk! I pay the higher rates and book the more luxurious rooms partly due to a certain expectation of customer service that I 100% am willing to pay for. However, the front desk didn't seem interested in actually helping and seemed more bothered that I came back to ask about time frame before getting a call. I called around 9am the next morning seeing if we could extend our check out by an hour, to 12pm, so we could take a quick dip in the pool and get an early lunch and come back to get cleaned up. I was told we couldn't because the Villa had to be turned over for the next guest. Ironic, they were in no hurry to get the Villa cleaned or ready early for our arrival. We were planning on returning in May for a Bungalow/Villa but I am not sure now if we will be returning and spending the money. The grounds were pretty and the room was clean and great but based on my experience not sure it would be worth spending another $1200+ here. I also thought there was supposed to be a resort credit when booking the Villas but maybe that was just a special for last time we stayed here? Our last stay in Palm Springs at another resort we received top notch VIP service from Check-In to Check-Out. The only thing that made our stay better than average ,hence 4 stars, was how great Paula in concierge was and how attentive our butler staff were. P.S Agave had great drinks and Jesse was awesome!

We enjoyed such a wonderful stay! Upon arrival, we were greeted with warm hospitality expected from such a brand as Hyatt. The Valet staff from Jesse to Reuben and Jesus were the epitome of a welcoming committee and did what they could to retrieve our car in a timely manner, offering water for any outing, and super helpful with directions, too.
Cameron at the front desk was super helpful in recommending reservations and information with the goings on at the hotel for the week, as well as with our upgrade.
Our accommodations were clean, spacious and well appointed. Staff was more than willing to prepare our son’s turn down for the sofa bed in the living area, and when my husband was resting in the room, they were very discreet and courteous to not disturb, yet left toiletries and fresh towels where they could.
The highlight, aside from the upgraded suite, had to be the 9 swimming pools complete with lazy River and water slide tower. This was a much welcomed vacation for the family and friend after a long overdue quarantine year.
There were only two drawbacks: dinner on site, and exceedingly slow internet.
The Blue Agave offered a seat yourself type of dining with full service bar and food menu, however, I must say I was NOT impressed with the cocktail I ordered: a type of spicy passion fruit margarita. It was straight tequila and not worth the $15. I don’t mind paying the price as long the drink is worthy. In this case, it was not. I must give accolades to the attentive service, however, as Tre and his team was super attentive. Tre did his best to make good the situation by offering his mixology skills to any cocktail I chose to order next, with his guarantee or it was on him. Further, hubby was NOT impressed with the $7 priced Miller Light, nor the appetizer offerings. I myself enjoyed them, and my son and his friend enjoyed the kids fare.
And the breakfast offering were delightful! We had the muleta, salted caramel banana pancakes, and chocolate chip pancakes with the usual breakfast sides, and mimosas for me and the hubby. Thank you to Ruben for the recommendation on the muleta.
Overall, I’d give our stay a 4.5 rating. Thank you Hyatt Regency at Indian Wells. Looking forward to our next stay!

This hotel was beautiful. Because of our family size, we upgraded to the penthouse, which had ample enough room for everyone. Slightly outdated (looks like room was last updated maybe 10 years ago?).. The kids had a blast on the slides and lazy river, and it was so nice to finally find a place that had SOME THINGS open. That being said, they were still charging full amenity fees, parking fees, and room was $500+ when 70% of the hotel was shut down. The lazy river and slide areas were limited hours. So even though our kids wake up at 6:30 am, we had to wait until 11 for it to open and then it would close at 3. Additionally, the teenage lifeguards would roll in at 11 on the button with no hurry to get the thing going. To add insult to injury, every single restaurant was shut down with the exception of Vue and roadrunner for takeout. So this meant for 80% of our stay, we had to use grub hub or some third party service. When I asked the hotel if they could bring up a microwave, they said it would be a $25 fee? The policies need to be logically reconsidered in light of current events. No one should be charged to heat up their own food when the restaurants are shut down and when housekeeping services are completely gone and everything else is shut down- we shouldn't be charged resort fees- bottom line. I would definitely come back in non covid times bc the kids had such a good time, but the lack of consideration for the fees charged in light of all the restrictions left a bad taste in my mouth.

Hello mrsgmommaofthree, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay with us. We are happy that you got the opportunity to enjoy your penthouse suites that were renovated last year and enjoy the new waterpark! We are disappointed that due to state and local mandates you did not get the opportunity to enjoy all of the amenities the resort has to offer. We will forward your comments to the appropriate departments for further assessment. Happy Holidays and we hope to see you again. Best, Mike Waddell, General Manager

Kindly the allowed us into our room early, the hotel was clean and nicely landscaped. They advertised all over tunnels and slides at the pool as of last year but no work was done over a year later, I would pull down the ads. The phone line in our room broke and they had to move the bed to repair it, because that was too inconvenient we stayed, additionally the under bed light kept going off at all hours of the night, even with a towel over it. They were supposed to offer us a discount like free valet and didn't follow through, When I asked at check out they gave it to me but I think they should have offered more and followed through. The food poolside and room service was just mediocore , there were no shops where you could purchase magazines or newspapers. There is also a step down from the bed area to the sofas and we found it dangerous, it was carpeted and not marked so you could trip if not paying attention.

I cannot help you. We went in June and there was minimal construction at that time. If you call the hotel directly in Indian Wells, they should be able to tell you about the noise level.
Is there a Camp Hyatt kids club at this location? And will any amenities be closed this July (2023)?
Absolutely, it's very family oriented and you have an adults only for parents to take a break!
Yes they provide floats
Yes! Drove by there an hour ago and people were swimming..
Please call the resort directly. I say this because during my previous visit the (so called) water park was closed for refurbishment, but no work was being done during my stay; it was just closed.
