Awesome place to just relax have a few beers and enjoy the view with family and friends the burgers are a must they are totally yummy and their spare Ribs are so nice and tender friendly staff for visitors and locals alike.
Had lunch here Saturday while visiting from the US with friends who work in Kinshasa. Food was ok - reasonably good Caesar salad. Service was a bit slow and not as attentive as I'm used to - this has been the case throughout South Africa on my trip though.
Sunday Lunch. The pub and restaurant were very busy but service was still good and friendly. They got our lunch choice mixed up but we're extremely apologetic but made amendments as well as offering a free drink. Food was excellent and well priced. Nice view and vive.
This was the quick lunch stop in search of fish and chips, while driving around the Cape peninsula. The Glen Lodge and Pup provided a fantastically tasty Fish and Chip lunch with local beer. While eating there is a great view to look out over from the outside deck seating area. Really lovely.
Would suggest a stay. Most enjoyable hospitality and food at reasonable prices. Hope to return, soon. of interest is the purported haunting of the hotel. I did experience some strange sounds in the wee hours, but nothing more...The new proprietors, in my opinion, are doing a sterling job of making their guests welcome and deserve support. Loved the veranda bar with the mist rolling across the bay. My review is glowing and I rate the establishment to be excellent.
Paul in the pub is very cheerful and helpful, what a pleasure! The pub is full of character and has beautiful views. Reasonable priced too! I cannot comment on the accommodation, but I know it is very affordable for the budget traveller.
Very pleasant and welcoming. The rooms are OK. But could do freshen up . The hospitality more than up for it though. This location is just putting your head down though. Please do not expect the Crown Jewels though.
Although the two young ladies were very friendly and welcoming the place itself is run down and in need of a makeover. Our family (4 people) pulled on for brunch and all we could get was two coffees and a sprite as there was only one person in the kitchen. IF you are going to be open for business the staff accordingly or stay closed and save the embarrassment of a negative review. Overall comment - don't bother.
The Glen lodge was amazing! It was definitely a home away from home with the most friendly staff. Grete is the mother of the home and goes over and above what you pay to stay there! If you need a place to stay near Kalk bay, fishhoek or simon's town i strongly recommend the glen lodge and pub
The photo placed on the website is NOT what you see when you get there. It is really an old building. The owner who is renting the place really tried her best and it is quite interesting with all the shells and glass hanging in front of the windows. The rooms are quite big and not too bad overall. But there is a Coke fridge in the room and the light is on, making a terrible noise the whole night. It sounds like a broken air conditioner. Breakfast was good the first morning. But the second morning we were told the chickens did not lay any eggs. Really??? Luckily we had our own pate, cocktail tomatoes and cheese. Otherwise I am afraid breakfast would have been only bread and jam. There was also no yoghurt like on the first morning. The owner is very knowledgeable and friendly and really very entertaining as well. I would stay there again albeit only for her. Otherwise the place not really worth it at all.…
