Bottom line: My travelling companion and I will be back. Joshua Inn Bed & Breakfast is wonderful.
Owners Tricia and Greg have created a welcoming home-away-from-home ambience in their large Victorian bed and breakfast. My friend and I just returned from what was originally intended to be a one-night stop-over so that we could get an early start on our Pinnacles hike, leaving from Hollister rather than from San Jose. We loved it so much, though, that we returned after our hike for a second night and extended our stay to quite late the following morning. More on our late departure at the end of this review.
The owners have maintained a relationship with descendants of the original owner of the house, so the house has the feel of being anchored in the community. They have refitted it as a bed-and-breakfast nicely, so that it still has the feel of being a gracious home while offering the conveniences one wants from a b&b (in-room full- or half baths; who wants to traipse down the hall in the middle of the night to pee?). The antiques that furnish the house have the feeling of my grandmother's well-maintained home--in other words, authentic antiques--rather than a museum. It's comfortable while at the same time luxurious.
Breakfast. Now that was something. The first morning we had an egg casserole with green chili, fresh berries with yoghurt, blueberry scones, and sausage. And coffee of course. The second morning was bread pudding with bacon and berries on the side. Both mornings Tricia fixed a version of the breakfast special for me. I'm gluten-free and dairy-free so I'm a bit of a problem child, but the food was both okay for me and absolutely delicious. Tricia is an accomplished and flexible cook.
What kept us from departing right away the second morning was that, in addition to offering a lovely breakfast, the owners had arranged for a massage therapist to come offer massages in-house, for a fee of course, but quite a reasonable fee. One of us got a full-hour table massage, and the other of us got a 15-minute chair massage.
Do you see why we'll be back?

We spent two nights at the cozy and welcoming Joshua Inn Bed and Breakfast. Such a lovely Victorian home. We just might have to make sure a return trip to Hollister is on our next California itinerary! Greg and Tricia treated us like family and royalty. The best of both worlds! Tricia even prepared a special breakfast to accommodate my dietary needs - vegetarian and gluten-free! Our stay was so very relaxing, comfortable, and definitely a highlight of our trip. A B&B dream come true for Tricia and Greg is a dream come true for weary travelers. Tricia and Greg genuinely care for their guests and we are so grateful to have found them!

We spent a night here after a trip to Pinnacles National Park. We stayed in the French Quarter suite on the ground floor. The hosts were wonderful and welcoming, and very helpful with restaurant recommendations. The Inn is very comfortable. Our room was very nice and roomy, with a wonderful bed and private full bath. Full breakfast was delicious!

Found the Joshua Inn on the CABBI app during our road trip up from Anaheim to San Francisco. A real gem! A very warm welcome, helpful suggestions about where to dine locally, a fantastic room with private shower, a cute candy station with lovely tasty treats for a few pennies while watching TV. Trisha and Greg are wonderful people and really make a weary traveller more than welcome. We were sad to leave after only 1 night would love to have had longer here. For breakfast we were served up the most AMAZING Zucchini and cheese frittata and churro pancakes. Yum! You won't regret staying here in the large comfy beds. A darling porch swing and rocking chair made me want to stay a week. I can't wait to get back

My husband and I stayed at Joshua Inn on our way to Pinnacles National Park, and we would definitely return. The B&B owners, Tricia and Gregg, are very warm and welcoming. The house is charming, quiet but just two blocks from the main street of Hollister.
We stayed in the French Quarter room, which had an excellent (firm) bed and a newly renovated bathroom with heated floor. Guests are welcome to spend time in the common areas of the house, which include a sitting room with a fireplace and a living room. Also a shelf with "penny candy" that is up for grabs! Tricia and Gregg provided suggestions for where we could have dinner (most of which offered a discount to Joshua Inn guests) as well as other local events.

We loved our stay at Joshua Inn B&B. ur room was large and well furnished. The breakfasts each day were to die for. And our hosts could not be more accommodating with information. Each day were returned from a hard day of hiking we were greated with a glass of wine and a helping for their well stocked "candy bar." So glad we found this jewel.

Other reviews are completely on target. The owners are extremely welcoming, friendly, and provide great service to guests. We stayed in the French Quarter and were very comfortable.
We appreciated breakfast very much, which was delicious and healthy and not overly laden with sugar, especially because we were on a bicycle tour.

There are allot of B&B in the world and most don't understand that the charm of a location only goes so far. This couple gets it. They are very charming and engaging. We had 10 family members here for several days. We had Christmas dinner hosted by the couple and they made our holiday wonderful. Thank you

I booked a stay here in November. It was remarkable! Gregg and Trisha are heartwarming people. I loved our room, The Kuschel. Trisha's breakfast was delicious! Other guests shared our table for breakfast and felt like instant friends. The history of the house is fascinating too. The small town brought the relaxation I was looking for. I plan to book another trip to Pinnacle national monument and will be booking my stay here again. Thank you so much for making the get away with my son a wonderful memory. Warm regards, Bex and Alex
