This hotel is hit and miss. They don't have many upgrade options, so the upgrade is the fourth floor on the side with the agricultural view. That does make for a very nice view. Last night's stay was rather pleasant. Check-in was a breeze, and their desk staff were friendly. Convenient parking, although no electric vehicle charging. They have a low emissions charging spot, but it serves no purpose.
The location is as convenient as any in hollister. You'll be reasonably pleased with your stay as long as you don't pay more than about $130 per night. If you stay here and end up paying over $200 a night, you'll leave with no more than a two-star review.
The room was comfortable, and the shower has plenty of hot water in good pressure. Housekeeping forgot to make the bed. Marriott is notorious for inconsistent housekeeping post covid. Parking is free but I wouldn't expect anything else at this location.

Spacious room, we were upgraded to a suite for the 2 nights we stayed. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was included, hot and cold options available, your average Fairfield buffet - could have done with a waffle maker but not bad. Reception staff were nice. Location is slightly isolated. Decent overall.

We had a one-night stay at this hotel. The rooms are spacious, and it was a treat for our grand kids to have a warm pool for swimming, but guests have to ask the front desk for towels to use after swimming in the pool. One of our grand kids was told that there were no towels available, and that was in the late afternoon, so the kids left while shaking cold and wet--dripping water all over the hallway and elevator floors . The breakfast was good, and the breakfast sandwiches which could be heated in the microwave were particularly tasty.

This Fairfield Inn was fairly new and nothing was overlooked. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The lobby was large and had a computer for your use. The breakfast area had plenty of seating and there were outlets in many areas to plug in your electronics or charge your phone. Due to Covid the breakfast selection was limited, but still adequate: muffins, dry cereal, oatmeal to microwave, breakfast bars, yogurt, and refrigerated breakfast sandwiches to microwave. Coffee, juice, milk and hot water were available as was a microwave. The indoor pool was small, but heated, and there was a nice exercise room available. There was also a coin-operated laundry room. We stayed several nights and were upgraded to a larger room. It had a spacious sleeping area with a TV and bedstands on both sides of the bed that had electrical outlets for charging. A second area had another TV, desk, large sofa, and coffee table. The bathroom was large and had a very nice-sized shower (no tub) and the room had great lighting. There was a microwave and refrigerator and a coffee maker in the room along with a hall closet that held an ironing board and iron. The room was exceptionally clean and fresh, as were all the areas of the property that we saw. This was the perfect place to stay for our trip to Pinnacles National Park, which is only a short drive away. There was nothing lacking here and I highly recommend this property.

Stayed at the Hollister Fairfield Inn for 3 nights and they do charge a deposit of $20 a day but got it back. The breakfast was good and something different each day made it worth eating there. The rooms were very cleaned and looked remodeled. The walls were thin and the first day moved rooms because the neighbors where yelling a lot.
If a runner, I made a 3 & 4 mile course from the hotel on Garmin. Give it a try!
If I come back to this area, I would stay here again.

Earlier this afternoon prior to my arrival, front desk called me to ask me to change my room from double queen to master bed. I said sure. Ok , that was fine.
I finally arrive to the hotel around 4:30p and notice the bathroom sink doesn’t drain at all. Front desk was notified and said they’d send someone asap. We waited and nobody showed so we went to dinner.
We came back later and noticed the drain still doesn’t work. I asked the front desk and said the serviceman said they fixed it but it will drain slowly still. Well, I tested it and it still didn’t drain at all. I immediately go back downstairs and the Front desk man also said there’s no room available to move me to, nor can they put me in another hotel for the night.
By the way, I used a marriot bonvoy free room award certificate for tonight and expect it to be credited it back/ returned to my account asap.
Why call to switch my room prior to arrival to a non-working bathroom? So shady.
Why tell me it was fixed when it wasn’t? Why lie?
This is bad for Marriot Bonvoy.
Obviously we left and went elsewhere for the night.
And we’ll never come back to this hotel.
Full disclosure: I’ve been a marriot bonvoy/starwood member for at least 16 years and I write both good and bad reviews of all hotel chains on different online review platforms.

This is a clean, comfortable place. Nothing special, except the rates which are relatively high because there are so few hotel rooms in Hollister. Our first room reeked of cigarette smoke but they moved us to another one w/o any push back. If you are staying in Hollister, this is probably your best bet.

My husband went solo for a golf tournament and made his reservation two weeks in advance. He arrived around 6 p.m. only to discover his reserved room had been given away and he was put in a different room that was obviously not ready for occupancy. The sheets did not look like they had been changed, the TV and the telephone did not work. He had brought his dinner to eat in the room and by the time he dealt with the TV, dinner was cold. Though he understood the usual Fairfield breakfast buffet would be different due to COVID, the GO Box was ridiculous. He had to leave to buy water. We have stayed in other Fairfields, but will not return to this one. For the high price......big disappointment.

Sorry for you inconvenience. Most of the Marriott property is not serving breakfast .A To-Go breakfast is ready for guest in the morning which per Marriott consists of a fruit ,yogurt and a granola bar .There is a restaurant near by if you would like a full hot breakfast its about 1 min away . Thank you

I originally booked my room directly with this hotel on May 2 for Saturday May 22. While I was enroute to the hotel to get ready for my niece’s party, they cancelled my reservation at 2:04pm. on May 22. They claim to have an unforeseen maintenance issue. Interesting enough I had received an email the day before requesting me to “check in.” Since I arrived without knowing that my reservation had just been cancelled I learned upon speaking to the front desk clerk that my room was given up to some wedding party. We spoke to the supposed managers at the time (a woman and a man) who tried to cover it up stating some maintenance issue affected 10 rooms. Total lies. Needless to say no other rooms were available for 30 miles. Not too many places to stay in Hollister. This place has no concept of customer service. I did file a complaint with their corporate office but evidently they just let the individual properties handle their own messes. On top of all this their rooms are on the pricey side. Book someplace else if at all possible.

I will never stay at this hotel again as long as I live. I literally prefer to sleep in my car in the parking lot then I have to deal with the horrible attitude of the night staff here. First, I was told that there was no-one with my name that had a reservation, while standing outside in the cold. Oh, but they can't let you in until they confirm that you have a reservation so they leave you outside while they try to check and, surprise, their system is down and they can't check until it's back up. So they left me standing outside for 10 minutes after I had driven here for five hours from SoCal so that I could work early tomorrow.
Guess what, hotel management? that's not the kind of reception you want when you arrive late at night after a long drive. He even threatened to "cancel the reservation if you're not nice".
To make matters worse, the card reader on the side door is also broken. The door is poorly built, and light comes in from the hallway. I'm sure I could make a really long list of really horrible things about this hotel by tomorrow morning but I'll stop there.
For heavens sake, was being a jerk like that really necessary?? Now I'm fuming and can't sleep and I still have to work all day tomorrow doing a very complex job.
