Embassy Suites by Hilton Anaheim South has garnered praise for its attentive staff and efficient service, though some guests have faced slow check-ins. The hotel's recent renovations are a hit, creating a modern atmosphere with a fresh dining area and updated rooms. While the roomy accommodations and varied breakfast options are popular, opinions on value are split due to extra charges and renovation-related issues. Its location near attractions is a plus, despite the occasional drawback of nearby construction. Room cleanliness receives mixed reviews, with some noting housekeeping oversights.

Our family of 4 stayed on a 2Q bed suite which is very spacious and comfortable. Suite was clean and quiet during our stay. The lobby / breakfast area was just renovated. They took out the water/garden feature in place of dining table and chairs with bistro light strings. ( The website clearly states that they are undergoing construction on their lobby and pool area, so expect some noise). However, we never experience noise from the construction during our stay. The staff were friendly and very accommodating.

We had an excellent stay here for our Disney trip. Being in hospitality, both my husband and I notice different things than the average traveler. The Front Desk staff was very friendly and explained they did not do daily housekeeping but that they had slips to fill out for whatever is needed. Since we were traveling with our 19 year old son, I really appreciated that the bedroom had a door on it and we could separate our sleeping space.

The breakfast was great with the made to order omelets and I enjoyed not having to have that added expense of another meal out. They have laundry machines available which was handy so we didnt have to pack as much for the next leg of our trip. The hotel was extremely clean and well cared for. I would definitely recommend for anyone considering this as an option. Im super picky and dont have a negative thing to say about the experience.

My husband and I wanted to do a few hours of shopping in Downtown Disney so we chose this hotel because of the closeness to the district. Walked into the hotel, everything clean, sanitizer right in front of the check in desk which had plexiglass shield in front of them. There were two associates at the desk, very polite...got us checked in after making sure we knew all the rules such as face masks over nose and chin every where but your room etc. We got to our room and found a sticker that attached to our door and the door way.(you had to break it to get into your room) that specified that the room had been cleaned and sanitized! we broke the seal, went into our room and just because I'm super cautious with Covid-19 around I proceeded to sanitize everything all over again! beautiful room with a beautiful view of the city! top to ceiling windows. The bed was very comfortable and we had a walk in shower in the bathroom because I'm unable to step over a tub...the only complaints I have are the same one I have at pretty much every hotel I visit....NO shower massage so you can feel like you are CLEAN and no shower/bath mat! my shower head was at least at 6ft range which was o.k if I just wanted my shoulders clean! lol all in all, we had a really nice 2 day stay and would certainly do it again.

We stayed here for one night due to having an extra night we needed a hotel for; we had an underwhelming previous stay here in 2018 but due to us enjoying Embassy Suites in the past we wanted to give them another chance.

Unfortunately our experience wasn’t great, and in fact was probably the most inconvenient it could have been for a single night stay.

We had a regular one bedroom king suite, booked well in advance. When we arrived in the room it was clear that the air conditioning was broken and blowing hot air. We immediately informed the front desk who said they would send maintenance. As it was our first night in the area we went to the supermarket in the hope that it would be fixed upon return.

When we returned around an hour later, maintenance hadn’t been, so we called front desk and they said they would send someone up but we could go down and enjoy the evening reception. We did that and I went back to the room around 45 mins after the start of the reception to see if maintenance had been. When I got to the room, the man was standing watching our television. It was as if I had disturbed him by walking into his room! I asked if he had fixed the problem and he said no.

Therefore I asked reception if we could change rooms. The only room they had available was a twin room. Reluctantly, as we had no other choice, we took the room. There was no apology and no offer of any refund, partial or otherwise, or anything by way of recompense, considering we were being forced to downgrade. After our poor experience with the hotel staff on the last stay, we were disappointed to find attitudes had not really improved. As a Hilton Honors member who will prefer where possible to stay with the chain, this hotel has by far the worst customer service of any Hilton we’ve ever stayed in.

Finally, they did not release the deposit money, which they charged to our card, for some weeks. Around three weeks after we returned home, we had to chase them up to release our money.

It was a remarkably poor experience for us and we will not stay here again; further, we will be recommending friends and family stay elsewhere if they are travelling to the area.

Wayne, I'm dismayed to read that your recent stay fell short of the high standards for which we aim, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns with me, I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you in a more productive forum and ask that you reach out to me directly at the hotel so I can learn more details of your visit. Regarding the deposit, upon checkout, the funds are released by the hotel and it may take your bank a short time to complete the function on their end. As a team, we will be reviewing your feedback to ensure that these items are addressed going forward, as complete guest satisfaction is always our goal. We hope you'll consider giving us another chance in the future to offer you the exceptional experience our guests have come to expect from us!

Sadly, this hotel has taken a big dive over the past 20 years, and I suspect that most of this has been secondary to Covid-19. It seems that every business is short staffed, and that is certainly the case here. For example, I called the front desk asking for more towels. After several hours and no towels I called back and let the phone ring over 50 times. No one answered the phone. An hour later I tried the same thing with the same outcome. The following morning I called very early and got through to a live human who was very responsive and I got my towels.

Also, we were on the 10th floor, and at one point, all four elevators went down. The entire time we were here, the most elevators they had functioning were 3, and often only two out of four were functioning.

Also, the pillows in the room were flat and old, reminiscent of my college dorm pillow from decades ago.

The breakfasts were adequate, but super basic. The hotel has also started charging $20 a night for self parking, which is a new feature to extract even more money from it's patrons.

For the steep price of this hotel, it is far below the level I would expect from an Embassy Suites, and needs new leadership and a lot of work.

Also, the bus service to Disneyland had long wait times. We spent at least 60-90 minutes each day waiting for the bus, which was not complimentary. There needs to be a lot of work with this transportation system.

I am becoming more of a fan of alternatives to hotels, such as VRBO and AirBnB. I doubt I will be back at this hotel.

Location very close to Disneyland with a shuttle to the park when you stay here. Attend a conference and experienced the beautiful property, staff, excellent location to shopping and restaurants. Food for event was catered it was fabulous breakfast and especially the buffet lunch were over the top. Plenty of parking for the conference & hotel guests I parked by the pool (was jealous of the people enjoying it). Wonderful Southern Cali location and weather. Will return when out of state family come for spring break & Disneyland so we can enjoy the property and stay in their rooms

This was the fourth time within the last 10 years that I've stayed at the Embassy Suites in Anaheim and each time was very satisfactory until this recent stay in October. Of the four elevators, two elevators were not operating during my four days I stayed there. The toilet in my room flushed by could not refill the water in the tank afterwards. Each time I had to jiggle the valve in the tank to get the water to fill the tank. The hotel used to have disposable cups wrapped in plastic to keep it sterile but this time the cups were replaced with styrofoam cups which were not wrapped. This was not acceptable especially during the pandemic. There were no daily housekeeping services during my stay- only during check-out. The buffet breakfast used to be the highlight of my stay but this time (perhaps due to the pandemic) the breakfast options were very limited which was fine. However, not acceptable was the spoiled mixed fruit and overripe bananas that were served. Overall, this hotel was not up to the Hilton standards. They need to repair and renovate the hotel and bring back all the hotel staff so the travel experience can be positive and enjoyable again.

My family has stayed at this hotel many times over the last decade and it is very convenient to Disneyland. The shuttle costs on;y $6/pp but runs every half-hour and is generally on-time based on our experience. Like most Embassy Suites, the breakfast is good and all you can eat so it's good for families. The omelette cook kept the line down adn the front desk staff were attentive. On receiving my bill, I noticed a charge labelled as "Suite tax" on my bill (14.5% of the room charge) and thought it was odd that some tax authority had a special tax for suites. I asked the front desk and they admitted this "tax" was retained by the hotel, effectively a resort fee as they indicated many local hotels charged. I checked a future reservation I had at this hotel and noticed this was not on the total charge so I cancelled it. Before writing this review, I chaecked hilton.com and did see that this fee is now disclosed so if you are price shopping, this alledged tax could certainly change the results if it's not considered

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your wonderful comments. We're thrilled that our helpful shuttle allowed you to come and go easily, and that our hearty breakfast helped get your days off to a great start. However, we are disappointed that our staff failed to explain our "suite tax" correctly and I apologize for any confusion. We do not charge a resort fee or a higher tax based on room type. This is an Occupancy Tax and the amount is determined by the city. This is an industry-standard and our team should have communicated this with you better. We hope this will not detract you from visiting us again as we'd love to welcome you back to Embassy Suites Anaheim South!

I’m learning as Gold honors members to maybe not expect great service although there should be. Maybe it’s the So cal underlying attitude of it’s a Dog eat Dog world. I’m saddened I often find myself taking on that mindset when in SoCal. Maybe I have too high expectations but when I think of customer service at better than average hotels I expect better than average customer service. My experience with the hotel is mainly front desk, room cleanliness, and amenities. So there is happy hour with complimentary drinks. This is TOP NOTCH Offering of the hotel and we took advantage of it. We did sit at the bar as that would be a normal thing to do, we were quickly told by a staff member that we must order food to sit there. I felt it was a “gotcha” moment for him and at that moment I didn’t know how anything worked at the hotel. That rule seems so odd to me because maybe I wanted to buy Manhattans with makers mark or some other top shelf drinks. Gold members should have small perks associated with their stay such as free water and snacks. They weren’t offered to us at check in. We weren’t gonna say anything but after a dinner tonight at BucaDebeppo my wife asked for the waters we were “supposed” to have. Now this is awkward because proper customer service should have been known to provide this simple and cheap benefit. At this moment it is the mere principle to ask for our “benefit”. But “Shannel” when asked for the waters and stating we were Gold members who didn’t get the waters earlier said “ that will be a dollar” and “ there is a vending machine over there”. Now this does sound petty but I believe customer service is creating the pettiness. It’s something so simple that shouldn’t even have to occur. I have made the conscious decision to only stay at Hilton locations to reap the rewards of points but with my extreme act of loyalty I expect a certain level of service. This is only my third Hilton I’ve stayed at this year but I doubt I’ll be back at the Embassy Suites in Anaheim.

I booked with Embassy Suites as I usually have a good experience with all Hilton properties. Sadly, COVID 19 is everyone’s “excuse” under the guise of safety. The manager at this property named Eduardo is a perfect example of a corporate robot who is not interested in welcoming nor taking good care of his guests. The problem I had was that I am staying for 5 nights and I requested housekeeping. He said no and pretty much too bad. He offered to move me rooms but then it is inconvenient for me. The corporate website states that housekeeping can be requested by the guest and scheduled accordingly. Eduardo wouldn’t hear of it, even when contacted by the Diamond desk on my behalf. I’ve even attached a picture containing the housekeeping policy. Now that Disneyland and most other attractions are shut down, I would think the would welcome guests and try to accommodate them instead of making excuses of why they are unable. To Eduardo he just doesn’t care, and I would suggest seeking out other properties in the area that value and take care of their guests.

We wish to extend our sincere apologies for your poor experience, as what you have described is not at all reflective of our high standards of service. Due to the Pandemic, upper management has made the decision to temporarily discontinue our daily Housekeeping service to keep both our guests and team members safe, and we apologize for the miscommunication and the inconvenience this may have caused. We value your feedback and will be discussing your concerns with the appropriate departments, as guest satisfaction is always our top priority. Please reach out directly to the hotel should you have any further comments. We hope to have another opportunity to regain your trust and improve your impression of us!
