We love this hotel, we stay here at least once a year with a group of friends and our dogs. The staff is so friendly and kind, and housekeeping is top notch. YES, they will tidy up your room daily like the good old days before the plague. The wifi works great, and the property is non-smoking.
The rooms are well maintained, the beds comfortable and the shower is good. There's a barbecue and outdoor area on the north side of the parking lot and one of the nicest things is the dog-washing station and grass with the fire hydrant so your pet has a full bathroom as well. After many beach romps, you won't have sandy paws in your room with you.
The breakfast room they used to have has been converted into another guest room so there's coffee and a few little snacks in the office instead, which is fine because with all the breakfast options in Cayucos, the one at the hotel just isn't a huge draw anyway.
The rooms are well maintained, the beds comfortable and the shower is good. We have never stayed in Cayucos before so picked a motel that had good reviews and looked like it would suit our needs. Plus, it’s dog friendly and our friends were thinking of getting a room, too, and they have 2 small dogs. When we walked into our room, we knew we made the right decision. We got a room with 2 queen beds. It was surprisingly large & spacious, which was an added bonus because my husband was on crutches. It had 2 sinks in the bathroom area, plus another sink by the micro & fridge, with a nice counter for prepping food. There was a large table for laying things out, as well as another table for an open suitcase. Our room had a vinyl floor, which we loved so much better than carpet. There were several chairs out on the grassy area, a couple of bar-b-ques, and a couple of tables. There was a grassy doggie area with a fire hydrant, and even a doggie bathing area with a hose. The gorgeous beach was maybe a 5 minute walk, and 2 yummy places to eat very close. The Sea Shanty was across the street with decent prices and plenty of outside seating, and Martins was 2 blocks away with good Mexican & Italian fare. We cannot wait to stay again!!!

We live locally and wanted a staycation for our anniversary. We also wanted to take our dog along with us so we wouldn’t have to look for a dog sitter or go home every day to take care of him. Cayucos Beach Inn was exactly what we needed! We checked in late on a Sunday and checked out Wednesday morning. Our room was a non-smoking King room on the second floor and had a small kitchen area with its own sink, microwave, mini-fridge and plenty of drawers for storage. The bathroom had double sinks, lots of counter space, a shower AND tub, hair dryer, and surprisingly thick bath towels.
The room was clean and didn’t smell like pets had been there (which was one of our concerns). We were very impressed with the simple yet classy decor. Daily housekeeping kept the room feeling fresh and inviting!
The dog amenities are just lovely. They have a special patch of grass with a “fire hydrant”, poop scoop shovel and rake, lots of pick-up bags, and even a raised dog wash station in case your doggie gets a little too sandy at the beach! Really great location. The beach access nearest to the hotel is a bit treacherous, our 5 year old had a tough time getting down it. Beach near that access was largely unoccupied on a beautiful Saturday afternoon so worth it in the end.
Very limited amenities. This place is value based not comfort or style, and the rooms were somewhat dated. Beds were average comfort. It was very quiet, and you could see the ocean from our upstairs suite. We had to call the front desk upon arrival as the toilet was flooded, and they responded within 5 minutes. Very friendly and responsive staff.
Small TVs, but the full direct TV was a nice feature.

After being cooped up for a while the kids and I decided we needed a beach trip. While a majority of the hotels are within walking distance to beach access, I wanted something that was within “I need to potty mommy” quick distance. This fit the bill perfectly since you just cross the street and walk tot he access point. I loved being greeted with the swan towels, and the kids have never experienced that before. I will say that the carpeting in the room was not ideal for beach sand, so the kids had to wait outside if the room while taking turns showering. Next time we used the dog area to rinse the kids excess sand off, so that was helpful. The view was nice, but I really wish there was more seating outside to read a book an enjoy the view.

First, I wanted to say that the area and facilities are extremely dog friendly. Their potty area is very nice and a good size. The rooms were clean and fairly big.
I struggled with whether or not I should write this review, but I ultimately decided that it was worth it because after many weeks I'm still thinking about this incident. On our last day, there was a Hispanic lady that checked us out and was extremely rude. We asked some simple questions to ensure that we turned in our room key correctly, but she answered extremely rudely and had these facial expressions like we were stupid to be asking such questions. She treated the customers after us much nicer and I feel as though she was being racist. This was the first stop on our trip and this interaction that we had with her honestly ruined our trip because I kept thinking about it and replaying it in my head. I know people have rough days, but honestly, no staff should treat their customers this way. (As a note: as customers, I do not believe we did anything to warrant this reaction. We always leave the room with the beds made, dirty towels folded in one pile, we are quiet, and our dog does not bark. We usually would leave a big tip for the cleaning staff since we appreciate the work they do but in this case, we did not. ). I almost never write reviews, but I felt that it was important to at least note my experience with this particular place.

We had booked a four night stay beginning on Feb 06,2022 (Sunday) thru Feb 09, 2022. At 8 am on Wednesday our room phone rang and the front desk informed us that we needed to move our vehicle from the parking lot by 8:30 as the lot was going to be worked on. After I moved our vehicle across the road I asked when it would be opened back up and was told between 2 and 3 that afternoon. We returned a little before 5 pm and the parking area was blocked off as slurry had been applied earlier. We asked the clerk when the parking lot was going to be opened up and was told in the morning. We now had to find a place to park for the night and weren’t very pleased with the offsite spot we had to use. We were leaving the next morning so around 9 am Thursday morning we went to check on our vehicle and the parking area was still blocked off. We asked the clerk when it was going to be opened and was told around noon. We ended up parking in the street outside of the parking lot and had to make 4 to 5 trips to transfer our gear from our room to the vehicle. Very inconvenient, but the thing that bothered me the most was the fact that this slurry job had to have been scheduled in advance but no advance notice was given to the us, other than the phone call. Also we were constantly lied to regarding the reopening time of the parking lot, intentionally or not.
If any amenities offered by a motel are not going to be available during a booking period, the guest needs to be notified when making the booking or checking in, so they can book elsewhere if desired. Also lying to a guest is not to be tolerated.

We are always looking for a nice place to stay when Traveling with our 7 pound Papillon. We have stayed in SLO and Morro Bay and while the hotels are nice they are nothing compared to the Cayucos Beach Inn. They make you and your pet feel welcome. When we pulled up to the hotel we noticed how clean and new it looked. I have been to Cayucos many times but never really noticed this motel. I am glad I found it on Trip Advisor. Anway, our stay was very quiet. Most hotels that allow pets are noisy. This on is very very quiet. I loved their pet area, it comes complete with a fire Plug! I thought that was a cute touch. It's obvious that they love animals because they had everything. If your dog is a little messy after doing their business they have a wash tub with hose to wash them. Or if you need to give fido a bath you can use it for that too. The rooms are very nice inside. Even the shower had a good flow. They had soap and shampoo dispensers instead of those little bottles. The beds were comfortable and even the pillows were nicer than most hotels I have stayed at. The plantation style shuttlers was a nice touch. The coffee makers were very nice and the coffee they supplied was very tasty. Not the usual crap most hotels give you.

The room is spacious and pristine. Parking is convenient. One block from the beach. Close to a small family run market. Adjacent to the Sea Shanty Restaurant. All dog friendly. The Inn also has an area for washing the sand off your dog. My wife and I love staying at the Inn when visiting the Central Coast, which we try to do, at least yearly, and this is our favorite place to stay.

The room and beds are enough big for 4. Pets are ok also but you have to pay for your dog. Fyi

Our two day stay was Sunday and Monday night.
No balconies at this hotel. You have to walk out to the front of the hotel by the street and sit in one of the beach chairs on their grassy area to see even a glimpse of the beach--sill it's in the distance over a road and a block or two of houses. For a beach view or atmosphere I'd pick a different hotel along the water.
