Let's start with the good points; the grounds are amazing and plentiful! Lots to do here and views are superb. From hanging bridges, to nature trail, to thermal springs, lots of options. There are also zip lines and horse riding too, which we did not partake in, but loads of day trippers come to the hotel for the day pass which includes these.
Food is first class! We were a bit put off at first as only one restaurant was open the whole time we were there, but not sure how many people where staying over night, as it never seemed very busy, but very good quality for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was included in our stay and was also plentiful and good. We also had some burgers and chips at the look out one night, which was also very good value for money!
Bar/restaurant staff where all helpful and polite.

Our check in experience was appalling! Very abrupt and rude and no offer of escorting us to our accommodation or helping with luggage, so it was pretty much here's a map and of you go. Very different to other places we stayed in Costa Rica.
Major confusion with our room, we were under the impression that we booked a lake room and we didn't get this at all. When enquiring what we did have with front house staff, all we kept being told was we had a superior room - however superior to what was never understood. If what we had was superior, would have been interested to see the inferior! It was just a very basic and lacking in comfort, and cleanliness and not to mention the broken lamp/and wall socket! It didn't help that bathroom had no hand soap at all - especially during post pandemic times, when we asked for this, we were told that the insects eat it! Not sure why they couldn't have liquid dispensers as they did for the shower gel.
During the duration of our stay a gentleman introduced himself asking us for feedback on the hotel in general as his job was to attract more over night guests to the hotel. We explained our feedback and he actually came to look at our room and was rather shocked at the broken lamp/socket scenario.
All in all, we would venture back to this property if the rooms got taken care of a bit more and we were actually given the room we asked for, as you can't take away from the location, the nature/wildlife you can see there and the food.

They offer a day pass with a full schedule of activities: zip lining or hanging bridges, water slide, horseback riding, cultural center with some food tasting, hike to see a waterfall and sauna/volcanic mud/hot springs pools. Massages are avalaible for an extra cost. There is also a good buffet lunch included.

It was more regimented than we had expected, but it ultimately got us to try more than we would have. We hadn’t been horseback riding before but the horses were very tame and knew the trail well. Great views with the zip lining and a vigorous hike to get there. The water slide was huge and a lot of fun. Waterfall was pretty, although we didn’t get to swim in it. The last stop had us going into the sauna, then skaters g ourselves with mud, letting it dry and getting a blast of water as the staff hosed us off! Then it was into the pools, some hotter than others, which was very relaxing after a busy day.

We scheduled a private excursion tour for 6 people to Buena Vista del Rincon Eco Adventure Park on January 31 via Amstar with assistance from our fantastic travel agent ISWD Events + Travel. We left from Dreams Mareas Resort, which was about a 1.5 hour drive from the Park, but our exceptional guide, Martin, kept us entertained throughout!

Martin did a wonderful job explaining all of the activities and telling us about the different animals and scenes we encountered. He took some wonderful photos and videos of us with my iPhone during all of these amazing activities: zip lining, Tarzan jump, volcanic mud coating, bathing in the hot springs, horseback riding, and in front of a beautiful waterfall. He even found me some real sugar cane to chew on after I told him I had fond memories of doing so when I was a child in South Asia, which was so sweet of him to do! :-)

I highly recommend taking this private tour with Martin. He really listened to us and helped each of us have the best experience possible!

So who knew that out of the 3 activities that we did that required helmets (zip lining, jungle waterslide & horseback riding), that it would be most needed on the waterslide. Don't let that scare you though, the waterslide was a blast and most of our group did it more than once. Beautiful views, fun mud bath (more like plastering warm mud on each other) and relaxing hots springs. Lunch was delicious. We did a private tour from our resort, the Riu Palace with Good Alex Tours, and highly recommend Alex for that tour and other trips he provides goodalextours@gmail.com
Alex set up an amazing day for us, we covered a lot of ground, but were able to do it on our own timetable, unlike when you go with a large tour group. It was a great day for our family of 6 (parents and our early 20s aged kids and their significant others).

We booked this excursion directly with Buena Vista del Rincon, we were going to rent a van for the 8 of us for $103for the day thru Adobe link on the blog MyTanfeet.com but would be on a time restriction to get it back for pick up so they said that they could arrange transportation. with the additional price it was an additional $12.50 a piece so we went for that and we are so glad we did it was a drive thru a very remote part of Canas Dulces region into the mountains to get the the eco park. plus we were tired at the end of the day. the driver was Victor and the guide was Jimmy. we did the full day adventure with a visit to a see a local pottery be made, how sugar cane juice was extracted from the cane manually by a cow, we tried local coffee, hand made tortilla and cheese made there from their cows, horseback riding thru the rainforest then a trek to the waterfall, next was a visit into the steam room to open our pores before the volcanic mud bath, then an hour in the hot springs pools with a cold cocktail, then we were taken back down to the main area for lunch. which was a buffet style but we were served. after lunch we went on the mountain water slide then the 7 or 8 platform zipline and last the hanging bridges(which we missed due to the park closing) we were late arriving because of work on the power lines on the way and we sat for about 45 min until they were done. all in all it was a good excursion because it included everything that the kids all wanted to do in one stop the total with the transportation for 4 of us was $503. I would recommend this to anyone. I will say that you can go upside down on the zip line and it was a very cool experience but somewhat uncomfortable the way the harness was on around my hip / back area.

We found this resort because we wanted to zipline and only had one day before heading to Liberia airport after a wedding weekend at an all inclusive beach resort. This was exactly what we were looking for. Natural beauty high up in the canopy. We stayed in cute rustic cabins that had all of the essentials including good Wi-Fi. We were initially worried because there is no AC but it got so wonderfully cool at night with the windows open it definitely isn’t needed. The food was amazing! Authentic and delicious with large portions. The El Mirador restaurant has the most stunning sunset view I’ve ever seen. That is a must-do. We purchased the Eco Day Pass which actually came with a private guide who led us through the activities and explained so many Costa Rican traditions. The ziplining was FANTASTIC! So many lines and awesome views! Definitely the highlight. Our driver told us they were as good as those in Arenal. We reluctantly did the horseback riding. I thought it was fun but my daughter in law did not! The mud baths and hot springs were fun and relaxing. We skipped the hanging bridges because we were just too tired. There is also a water slide that looked really fun but too scary for us. The property is lovely to walk around and there are trails that we had no time to explore. Another two days would have been perfect. The ride to get there is long and slow because of the inclines and bumps so hire a driver. We spoke to a man who drove himself and he had a very difficult time. We had Amstar transport; they were so prompt and friendly. And the van was new, air conditioned and comfortable. They took us to the airport the next morning which was only an hour away. I almost didn’t find this resort but I’m so glad I did. It met all of my criteria and was the perfect ending to our Costa Rica trip!!

My wife and I driven here from our hotel for a day of adventure. We were reluctant about the horseback riding but the guide was kind and reassuring of our abilities to ride. We survived. The hot springs were wonderful although all with the exception of one pool seemed to feel like the same temperature. The one pool was very hot. Almost too hot. The water slide was quite the experience. On the walk up it seems like a relaxing ride down because the descent is gradual but don’t be fooled, it’s choppy and fast. The buffet was super refreshing by midday and the service was nice. My favorite was the zip lining which was led by Danny. My wife and I are both terrified of heights but Danny was so easy going and funny that we made it through the zip lines without fear. It’s noticeable that Danny loves his job and I think this park is very lucky to have such a wonderful person on their side. If I could do it again, I would only opt for the hot springs, lunch and zip lining.

Six of us took the all-day tour to del Rincon Eco Adventure Park on January 31, 2020. From the get-go, Martin of Amstar Tours was fun and friendly. It was clear we were going to have a great day! We had a long drive from our Dreams resort but Martin did a great job of keeping us entertained by telling us the history of Costa Rica and pointing out interesting landmarks and beautiful views.

Once we arrived at del Rincon, we were ready to get moving and moving we did! We started with zip lining across incredible gorges, did a scary but super fun Tarzan leap, went 1100 feet down the water slide, took in some cultural activities, had a wonderful lunch and horseback rode to a waterfall. Then to top it all off, we had a relaxing mud bath and hot spring soak (with adult beverages). It is hard to say what was best about the day; I'd say it was the culmination of it all that made it so fun.

This one-day excursion was easily the highlight of our trip and I enthusiastically recommend it to anyone traveling to Costa Rica. There was nothing bad to say. One small hint, take bug spray and lather it on generously!

Thanks, Martin, for an awesome day!

The Buena Vista Eco Adventure Park has some of the most friendly and helpful staff, with beautiful fun-filled amenities and cultural exploration. My family and I only stayed for the one day excursion, but would love to come back here and stay at the hotel soon! The food that we received for lunch was exquisite and included a breathtaking view from the top of the mountain. There is so much to do on the property with very convenient transportation included. Thank you to such an amazing staff for our wonderful experience!! <3

We spend a week in Costa Rica and decided to visit this park since they offered a lot of the actives that we were interested in. Walter was our guide and he was amazing. From the moment we started our excursions. He remembered everyone’s name(we were a group of 40 people). He made sure we were comfortable and helped us remain calm when we were nervous. Definitely recommend this place and if you can request a guide pick Walter you will not regret it

Hello! A fair question! Unfortunately, we do not have televisions in the rooms. We do, however, have Wifi throughout the hotel, so if you can connect with a tablet or computer you should be able to connect to the CBS stream or March Madness Live app.
