We had a fabulous vacation even amid the threat of a tropical storm. We visited to celebrate our 52nd wedding anniversary. From the time we met our driver to the resort, to our "welcome home" greeting from the gentleman that opened our doors at the resort, we felt so blessed to be there. The entire facility is so clean and beautiful! Every staff member from any area greeted us in some manner. We were housed in the Club level suites which included designated concierge staff, pools and beach areas. Well worth the little cost to upgrade in my opinion. On our first day we arrived early evening when there was a special dinner being held which we attended. The area was decorated with lights and streamers plus there were special dinner cocktails and foods. It was a great way to start! The next day we had breakfast and went to the Club pool where we were greeted by Hendricks the pool concierge who gathered towels, made up our lounge area, then brought us drinks. He checked on us all day it seemed. In the pool we met other couples from the USA and England. After dinner we watched a great show of a singers calling themselves "The Latin Tenors". Later that night into the early morning I became ill with gastrointestinal problems. My wife reported it to the Club concierge staff. While I tried to treat myself with common OTC treatments, I was not feeling better the next day. The Club concierge called to check on me and suggested I see the doctor on site. This service is not included in fees already paid. One of the gentlemen walked me to meet Dr. Carlos Jose Del Rosario. The doctor had studied and lived in New York so communicating was simple. He did a thorough exam and prescribed some electrolytes and a medication. Later in that day and the next he called me to see how I was doing. I am happy to say that within 24 hours of taking the first dose I was so much better. There were out-of-pocket costs, but I will submit those for reimbursement to my insurance once that I am home. The next few days were just fabulous. We also want to mention that Carmen in Housekeeping, our room attendant, checked on me regularly. She was so nice. Three days before we were to leave, the threat of Tropical Storm Franklin began. Waves of bad weather came and went over the next couple of days. The resort kept us in constant update via paper, email and text communications during that period. It was also fascinating to watch as the grounds staff prepared for the coming winds, rain and waves. It became some of my entertainment since the beach was closed. While the rain fell heavily and the winds were as big as I have ever seen, the facility seemed unscathed. On one of those nights, we went to dinner at "The Grill", where we had Emannuel as our waiter. He was so accommodating and helpful in making our dinner so special. He stood up for us and made a mistake made by the kitchen staff correct. Way to go Emannuel! The next day was beautiful again. So, I did experience some things that some may find unsettling, but I still had a fabulous experience, and we will return. Every waiter, bartender or wandering wait staff were fabulous and deserve recognition as they all were outstanding.

Situated on a beautiful sandy beach, this hotel has it all for a relaxing holiday.
The transfer from the airport after our excellent flight with TUI was longish 1 hours and thirty minutes but there was a very warm welcome on arrival.
We had a swim up suite number 8003 that had a very pleasant terrace area. Shady with no direct sun, but that suited us. There was a wide screen TV, a very well stocked mini bar, coffee/tea machine and hair drier. The hotel kept the supply of bottled water in the room at plentiful levels. Also beds are turned down in the evenings and water supplies and towels topped up. The room also had a walk in shower and jacuzzi bath so with loads of towels provided it felt very luxurious. The airconditioning worked well as did the WiFi which was fully available everywhere & even on the beach.

The hotel is kept spotlessly clean throughout and there are well maintained gardens. There is also a lovely ecological garden full of wildlife.

The beach is large with lovely sand and great for walking with no sellers to disturb the equilibrium. Both the beach and pool areas are well supplied with shaded beds and there are towel supplies dotted around so no stress in these areas. No need for bagging beds with towels at dawn here.

There are 6 speciality restaurants to choose from each evening, but no buffet restaurant at night which is superb idea that works well. There is not a reservation system so you just turn up where and when you want to dine and if they are unable to fit you in straightaway then you get a buzzer. The system worked surprisingly well for for our group of 6 and we enjoyed all the restaurants. Our favourites were the Lobster House, The French restaurant and the Grill. The wines served were very drinkable from Chile. Note that each evening two of the restaurants close on rotation.

There is a first class buffet restaurant for breakfast and lunch and a lovely little beach restaurant (Las Olas) for lunch. Also an a la carte breakfast restaurant option. Another relaxing feature is that there are no arm bands in this all inclusive adult only hotel.

The staff are all switched on, cheerful and very helpful and friendly. We had very good service from Joel at the Las Olas beach bar and also saw him at the french restaurant where he impressed us all.

We were all very pleased with the hotel which is very well managed and works like clockwork. We aim to return another year and during our stay met other guests who had returned year after year so that tends to speak for itself.

My new husband and I have just come back from a 12 night stay at Excellence, Punta Cana and we absolutely had the best honeymoon at this resort.
The food was great, ALL the staff whoever we met always greeted us with a smile and hello.
We stayed in the Excellence Club with the upgraded mini bar, soaps and had an ocean view. The biggest benefit of staying in this slightly more premium room is that you get waited on hand and foot at the Club Pool or private beach. We were looked after the whole time by Diaz who constantly kept checking we had enough drinks and that we were comfortable, thank you Diaz for everything! Richard 'yumi yumi' also does an excellent job of sorting you a snack order during lunch hours if you're feeling peckish ( guacamole nachos are the best ). So if you literally want to sit and do almost nothing but relax and sunbathe, then the Club rooms are the place to be.
Otherwise the rooms throughout the rest of the resort are pretty much the same.
I would not be upset to stay in a regular room that's for sure. And actually the main pool is so much bigger than the Club pool and also features a swim up bar you can sit at.
The beach is absolutely stunning and whilst the sea can be pretty choppy a lot of the time, the lifeguards are always keeping an eye out for people so we felt very safe. There is an area in the bay where you can swim in the sea easily and we did so regularly!
The entertainment programs throughout the day are well varied and organised. We decided to go to Spanish lessons and had the best time with Luis Coca Cola! Luis, you were so good with us all and engaged our group so that we wanted to come back. It really made our trip and led to us meeting so many other lovely people. Gracias amigo!
In the evening the entertainment programs were mostly dance routines. I'm not sure if it's like that the year round or just because it was quiet. The dancers were really so good, my only one niggle is that seeing dance routines night after night was a bit repetitive - especially when there is no live singing to accompany it. But I suspect it's just because we were there in February and it was quiet. The bands and Live Saxo (Salsa, wow!) at the Martini bar were great and we absolutely loved the silent disco as did everyone else - it just didn't go on long enough!!
The overall atmosphere at Excellence, Punta Cana is really something special and we met so many wonderful people that we hope to remain friends with afterwards. You don't always get the chance or want to (!) have a social life on holiday, but we definitely did and hope to have made some friendships that last beyond this holiday. But that could only have happened inside a resort that instigates such a good feeling in it's guests and Excellence did that for us. We loved it and hope to come back again sometime!

Stayed two weeks over Christmas and New Years
Location is very good – isolated stretch of sandy beach, half hour walk in either direction to nearest hotels. Hotel aligned along the beach so huge section of well maintained beach (seaweed promptly removed)with lots of palapas, pool also runs along the front of the hotel with lots of twists and turns so lots of areas to sit in and no shortage of chairs. There is also a large and very well maintained garden area.
As everyone mentions the sea is rough, swimming confined to one area, we witnessed the excellent lifeguards rescue someone who went out too far.
Rooms are large, well equipped with nespresso machine, stocked fridge, big flat screen TV etc. We found storage a bit tight for a two week stay.
Rooms are fairly well worn with stained couch, and scuffed Ikea style furniture. Bathroom is large with huge shower, the double sinks take up most of the counter space, the shelf underneath not the best and heaven help you if something falls off the back into the area the maid never cleans!
Resort lets itself down a bit in the food and drink department – very inconsistent. We had some fabulous meals and some pretty terrible ones, often in the same restaurant. Drinks were standard resort fare, with mid range brands of spirits.
The included wines (Chile) were dreadful, we opted for the rosé as the least offensive then found we had to barter for it at every meal – rosé please – we don't have any – oh yes you do – oh alright then – which was truly bizarre and somewhat annoying, happened at least 7 or 8 times in different restaurants and bars.
Entertainment was standard resort fare, did well celebrating Christmas and New Years.
Large and very well equipped and maintained gym.
COVID – resort handled this fairly well – testing was easy and efficient with a clear plan for a positive result, which was reassuring. The resort is so large it was easy to keep your distance from everyone else. Staff all wore a small face shield, guests generally didn't wear masks, we wore a mask indoors but as most of the resort is open air and there is always a breeze off the ocean didn't feel it was much of an issue. We avoided the buffet – lots of people in a closed room handling the same utensils; but lots of people were fine with it.
Overall this is a very nice resort that does a lot of things very well, particularly during covid. Would recommend.

This hotel is aptly named everything about it is excellent. It’s situated on Atlantic coast so not particularly conducive to sea swimming but there are sheltered bays nearby where this is possible and the extensive pool area meant no need anyway. It’s an all inclusive resort 1st time I tried this type of accommodation but it’s up market and we had wonderful steaks and lobsters and ate in complex restaurants that didn’t seem that they were part of an all inclusive deal as each restaurant has its own character. All drinks branded not cheap substitutes and the staff are wonderfully friendly and cannot do enough. All rooms include a hot tub in the main bedroom area and the outside space and beach is perfect. I was in real need of a relaxed do nothing holiday where someone else accommodated my every whim and I didn’t need to go anywhere. Got exactly what I wanted and the food way surpassed my expectations. There are plenty of daily activities and excursions if you want them and the evening entertainment program is very good quality considering it is within the hotel I am pretty sure I will come back

We just returned from EPC today. Actually we are stuck in San Juan with our connection being delayed 4.5 hours (so far). We decided to book this trip 4 days before we departed so it was a bit pricey for the air fare. From the moment you arrive at EPC you feel like you are in heaven. The perfectly manicured grounds, almost a half mile of private beaches lined with coconut trees and several spectacular pools, yes this is paradise. The staff is ultra friendly and will go out of their way to provide excellence service. That being said, there is a definite language barrier that is most prominent in the restaurants. We would order an egg white omelet with cheese and ham and we would then be served an egg white omelet with red and green peppers, mushrooms and onions but no ham or cheese. We tried again another morning with the same order and received an omelet with ham and tomatoes. Not what we ordered but we accepted it and were fine. Most lunches were “okay”. The best venue for lunch is Oreganos. Good selection and the food was decent. We ate at Magna twice for dinner and both nights there the service was perfect. Ask for Adan. He is an amazing waiter eager to please. The Lobster House was “okay”. Maybe our fault for ordering the lobster grilled instead of steamed as it was like rubber. Way way overcooked. The Hibachi Grill was good but again, all the restaurants seem to cook the food about 20-minutes past it’s proper temperature. The Club amenities were nice and the pool and beach were wonderful. We had a ocean view room on the third floor in building 1. Room was adequate and clean. Not sure why they place the hot tub directly under the tv. Very odd. Comparing this property to Secrets in Playa Mujeres I would say EPC property and grounds are much nicer however, the rooms at SPM were much nicer, larger and laid out much better. The food at either place is just “okay”. I assume when they are preparing meals for hundreds of guests the quality is going to suffer? All in all we had a wonderful time. Weather was perfect and met a lot of great people.

If you are considering this resort for your trip down south, my only advice would be, Book now! This was my ninth trip to the Caribbean and this resort exceeded my expectations in every way. Some highlights of the property/our visit.

The property has a tremendous amount of ocean front, so there is so much space on the beach for its guests. There are ample chairs and palapas available all day at both the beach and pool. No need to get up early and get chairs. No towel cards or rationing here, help your self at any of the stocked locations.

The beach has great sand and crystal clear water. No sea weed all week for us, however the waves can be a bit rough.

The resort is extremely clean and quiet. Its perfect for couples looking to relax. If you want a more "party" atmosphere, this is lacking. You feel very safe at this resort.

The food is fantastic at most of the restaurants, including the buffet. No need for reservations, the most we waited was 5 mins. The Grill and the French restaurant were our favorites, as well as breakfast at the lobster house (outside bear the beach). Las olas on the beach does a great lunch and you can eat there or do takeout to your chairs.

The alcohol is all top shelf, and the mini bar is stuffed everyday.

The rooms are updated and fairly modern, and are in great shape for the Caribbean. Great views of the ocean from most of the buildings as they run parallel to the beach.

The staff is so amazing and accommodating, they are truly typing to make your stay amazing and carefree. Danny and Felix at the beach bar were amazing, and took great care of us in the hot tub.

The shows each night we’re entertaining, and again no need to go early as ample seating available. We really enjoyed the fire show and the silent party, both happening after the “main” show each night. The main building/show area and its bars/amenities was one of the nicest I’ve ever seen. The coffee/dessert bar has fantastic hard ice cream cones.

The Dominican night and dinner show was an absolutely fantastic was to spend our last night there. The walk along the boardwalk under the stars was one to remember.

I would return to this resort in a heart beat. Almost no complaints at all to speak of, other than a room booking mishap, which was “fixed” within an hour. Considering how amazing the week was, I had forgotten about this issue an hour and a hot tub visit later.

Great job to the staff and management at this resort.

The food is not good at all. Tapas restaurant « Flavor Market » is a very bad imitation, no flavor. On New Year day, they served us a Surf’n Turf overcooked, we asked for bread and it was an issue for them ! Even the wine we ordered à la Carte was bad and it took forever to get it. Rooms are nice, service ok. The beach is very clean but a lot of waves all season (not recommended for those who like snorkeling, sailing or kayaking. We've just spent the best 2 weeks of our lives at the excellence punta cana. This is a fantastic hotel, all the staff couldn't have done enough for us. The hotel is spotless, the food is first rate, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is first rate. My wife celebrated her 60th birthday there, when housekeeping saw her card's they brought in balloons for the room and and made a day very special. The downside was when we had to leave. Here you will find Excellence indeed. Everything positive you read about this resort is true. We've been to some wonderful properties and this tops the lot.The resort is spotless and set in wonderfully kept grounds, the beach is clean and exquisitely long, great for walks. There are an abundance of sun loungers and palapas. The sea was very rough and we had red flags every day but it didn't spoil our enjoyment of the beach.
On arrival we were presented with two happy and jovial bellboys and two glasses each of champagne. Most welcome as we were delayed by a snowstorm and arrived 3 hours late! We were whisked off to the Excellence Club concierge by Joan where we were checked in painlessly, then taken up to our suite. Ordered room service as it was almost midnight and the food was excellent.
We would like to show special recognition to Wilmy who we met on our first morning; he directed us to the Magna Club Restaurant, exclusive to Excellence Club members. Wilmy is the Excellence Club pool concierge and he provided wonderful service all week and nothing was too much for him to do for us. Thank you Wilmy for your excellent attentive service and great conversation during our stay.
We had breakfast at the Magna Club out on the deck every morning looking out at the beautiful beach and surf, the food was top drawer and the service provided by the Magna crew supervised by Jhonny was always great. Special shout out to Jose Miguel who served us most mornings and on our first evening also at the Magna Restaurant which was unforgettable.
A la Carte lunch at Oregano was great, we ate there twice but also had lunch delivery at both the beach and Excellence Club pool. Also tried the Grill twice, first time service was fantastic. 2nd time they were very busy so not as attentive but the food was good on both occasions. Agave Mexican was also great food. Thanks to Alberto, Angel and Minerva who served us at these locations.
For our last night we returned to the Magna Club Restaurant, food was excellent and great service from Eddy capped off a truly wonderful vacation.
When we weren't on the beach enjoying the great beach waiter service Jeffrey at Cielo bar made us delicious drinks and taught us some more Spanish to go with the few words we already knew. We finished off most of our evenings with Soriano in the Magna Bar where we met some great people.
The Martini Bar was also nice but the hotel allows smoking here and in the theatre area where the evening shows are and this was the only negative for us personally.
As most others have already said the staff at this resort make the biggest impression. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is always Excellente! Sorry we can't remember all your names!
We look forward to returning again soon. Thanks to everyone at Excellence Punta Cana for a truly memorable trip!

El hotel puede organizar transporte con unas de las compañías locales. Yo utilize Season’s travel y con ellos Rasiel, unos de los choferes (se lo recomiendo) nos buscó del aeropuerto y otro chofer nos llevó de vuelta.
