Detailed Reviews
This hotel was sold as 4 star adults only by Jet2.
My idea of adult age is 18. The hotels own wording states 'children' over 14 allowed.
So thats not adults only then (& there were quite a few moody teenagers during our stay).
The hotel has been recently refurbed to a good standard but with the lack of attention to detail i would expect from a 4 star, so we were a little disappointed overall.
I emailed the hotel before setting off from home to ask if there were kettle/coffee making facilities in our standard double room & the reply was yes.
We got there at around 1.00 pm but couldnt check in until after 3. When we finally got our room, we were hot & bothered as the weather was really hot. We didnt get the kettle so i asked at reception for one. The staff provided one the next day, but with limited items. Only 2 small cartons of milk. These were never replenished in the 10 days of our stay so we ended up buying a bottle from the local shop. We had to empty the fridge of mini bar items to store said milk & other items we had bought (gin & tonic).
We ran out of tonic one evening so had to use a small one from the mini bar at a cost of 4.80 euros!!!! & there wasnt even a bottle opener in the room to remove the cap (the wall outside worked ok).
Other minor gripes were;
Not enough storage for clothes (no drawers at all), no room blurb so we had no idea of breakfast & check in/out times, no pillow menu as advertised, no sheet on the bed, just a duvet which was too much in the heat, limited amount of sun beds around the pool, poolside snacks had little taste, a reasonable breakfast selection but the cooked items a little disappointing.
The positives;
The air con was good & we left this on with the spare room card already in the room. Room clean with towels replaced every day, shower gel, shampoo, bath robes & slippers provided, good blackout curtains, pool warm but limited to around 20 people & limited access.
generally a clean hotel in a good location with excellent service from jet2 regarding the flights & private transfers.

We upgraded to a full sea view room which is certainly not cheap especially in comparison to other hotels in better positions but on arrival the room was minute with a brick wall obscuring the view of the bay (room 412) the air con didn’t work (a maintenance man arrived and spent hours with a hosepipe running through the room whilst he climbed into the wall to repair the issue) and the shower leaked badly. There was a single tiny wardrobe and no drawers for belongings . We complained at reception and the lady although pleasant enough did not want to address the complaint telling us this was what we had booked? I advised her that unless she did something I would make a formal complaint and bam suddenly they could move us the next day! Unfortunately this meant a night in an awful room and packing up and waiting to move to the new room the following day. This completely ruined the first couple of days stay which should have been relaxing.
The second room “with a full sea view” was double the size of the first with 2 wardrobes and plenty of shelves. On checking out of the second room the hotel then added a minibar bill to our bill even though we moved into that room after the minibar was used. Again the receptionist took time to accept their mistake looking at us as if we were trying to rip them off.
On the plus side of this hotel the rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels, free towels for use at the pool (lovely but not for the less mobile as up lots of steps). Coffee machine kettle and hairdryer in the rooms as well as mini bar. The breakfast choice was plentiful and topped up constantly. The staff are really lovely generally. There is a terrace overlooking the bay and the road but it’s lovely to enjoy a cocktail in the evenings.
It is just a real shame that the first days of our trip were marred by unacceptable issues that the reception team tried to pass off as if we were going to accept a room of lower standard than the one we booked.

We are happy to hear that you were finally comfortable in your room and with the breakfast buffet and the other services we offer in our hotel, but we are sorry that the first couple of days were not as relaxing as you had hoped. The better hotels in Port de Soller are not cheap and Pure Salt is no exception, but perhaps this is to be expected given the location and fantastic views over the bay. Pure Salt is very well positioned to enjoy this and it was a key reason why we chose to stay there. It is a modern and upmarket hotel with all of the amenities you might care for, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it. To be a little picky the room size compared to similarly priced hotels we've stayed in outside of Majorca (this was our first visit to the island) were a little on the small side, but by no means uncomfortably so. A big plus point for us though was the hotel staff who deserve to be singled out. Whether at reception or in the restaurant or the bar, you were always made to feel welcome and valued. Nothing was too much trouble, which to an extent we put to the test as my wife became ill during part of our stay (unrelated to the hotel). The support and care that we received from the staff was faultless and hugely appreciated.

We stayed in a room on the 4th floor with a mountain view and we’re very lucky as we had a corner room so had a sea view too. The room was comfortable and big enough for us both. More drawers and wardrobe storage would have been great. There are elements of ‘luxury’ missing in terms of the bathroom products, our robes were taken after the first day and not returned and it was apparent that the glasses had been wiped down rather than changed.
We went on a half board basis so ate in the hotel a few times. The menu was of high quality but it may not suit all tastes. Staff are friendly and for the most part attentive (in particular Carlos and Manolo) and breakfast gives great choice.
The pool was lovely and beds are comfortable. Service at the pool is slow but Estefania from the Spa offered some great promotions which led to us booking some massages at the spa. She is excellent and really knows her stuff.
It is clearly a hotel still in development having opened in Spring and is finding its feet. Despite this we did enjoy our stay and look forward to returning in the future.
We were slightly disappointed on check out that we paid our bill and left- no questions asked about our stay or asked how it was. Not a very attentive farewell after a lovely week.

On average a really lovely experience. I stayed here on my own and felt really safe. I had a wonderful view of the port having upgraded to a double sea view which I would recommend doing. Beautiful views of the port. This included more privacy with the dividers to other balconies. Lovely clean rooms with air con and daily towels etc. More than enough room for me and another if needed. The hotel smell gorgeous on entry and very clean. On check out I was given a whole room to myself to shower and change free of charge and I could use the facilities even after check out.
I think a few minor things that would improve is the following
• No free water in the rooms - even a welcoming bottle.
•There were a few lovely welcoming and very helpful staff who were fantastic but quite a few staff needed more training in giving information. I had to ring down to reception repeatedly because information was not given to me, and only then was instructed to download the app. This would have been helpful to be told on arrival really. The same at breakfast - you need your phone to look at a menu.
•The pool service was incredibly slow even to the point of being ignored and staff only seeming to be able to make one drink at a time very slowly while chatting.
• Pool area was lovely with views of the port but on the app they say that reserving sun beds is not allowed and that the pool opened at 11. Not true as when I got there at 11 most were taken. From 11 onwards people would wander in and leave as there were no sun beds. This would be particularly frustrating if you bought a day pass. One day someone had left their towels for 3 hrs and after complaints were eventually removed. I would recommend that if people are away for more than an hour their belongings should be removed from their sun beds to allow others some time too.
The breakfast buffet was delicious with freshly squeezed orange juice. I would recommend going down early if you want to order hot food as it could take a while to order if later.
These things are just minor improvements and it really was a lovely stay. I would definitely go back.

Dear Guest, We are grateful to you for sharing your honest opinion about your experience at our hotel. We are very happy to know that you enjoyed your stay and that you felt safe in our hotel. It will be a great pleasure to welcome you back. As for the points you mentioned, this helps us a lot to know how you felt during your visit. We appreciate your suggestion regarding water in rooms and staff, we will pass this information to our Managers to take it into account. Our pool service is in high demand and sometimes it is essential that there is communication between them. Sorry it was not as fast as you expected. We will inform the Maitre to take it into account. Regarding the sunbeds, we try to give the best service according to the space available and although we agree with you about freeing sunbeds, we are not always allowed to do so. Please be aware that we always try to give you the best. We look forward to welcoming you at our hotel whenever you wish. Pure Salt Port de Sóller is waiting for you! Best regards

We have been very disappointed with our stay here.
Very small room with very little storage space, no kettle for making tea or coffee and no privacy on the tiny balcony. The views from the pool area are lovely - worth the climb to get up there.
We had a hike tour and a bike trip planned for different days and had to leave the hotel before 8am. We asked for a packed breakfast eg fruit or sandwich but this was declined as breakfast timings were incredibly strict from 7.45am only! We missed breakfast 2 days out of 3 due to these rules. This is NOT 4 star service. Reception staff were mostly helpful and friendly especially Maryline. It seemed she wanted to help but wasn’t allowed to by the manager.
We had constant power cuts in our room and the electrician was called quickly and fixed the problem temporarily but the emergency lights kept coming on over our last night causing very disturbed sleep.
We won’t be back as this is not a hotel that welcomes cyclists or active guests and does not cater for their needs.

Dear Catchy, Thank you for your comments; they help us to keep improving our guest's experience. Firstly, we apologise the misunderstanding with the breakfast. We serve cold breakfast to all our guests that require this service before the restaurant’s times tables (7:45h-10:30h). Once again, sorry if you could not have breakfast at the time you wanted. Also, we are very grateful for your comments regarding the Pure Salt Port de Sóller team, specially for Maryline. Finally, we apologise too the lights problem you had in the room and we shared it with our technicians. Thank you, we are at your disposal. Kind regards.

Fantastic location and beautifully clean and friendly staff who go out of there way to help you.
Food is fantastic - we had breakfast and dinner, both enjoyable.
The rooms are spotless and modern and the wifi is very good (speed and connection) and is free to use.
The roof side pool is very nice (could be a struggle to get to if elderly) but again beautiful and clean.
I would say there is apparently a big difference in room types - my room was very basic/small with no view but very clean and modern - there are superior rooms that are fantastic with balcony and sea views (expensive).
Overall a fanatic stay and would stay again

My husband and I recently stayed here for 10 nights. It was our first visit to this hotel although we have stayed at other hotels in Port Soller and it compared very favourably . We were in a double room with sea view on the third floor which came with a coffee machine plus tea and coffee making facilities as well as gowns, slippers and toiletries. The room was very large with a terrace overlooking Soller Bay and plenty of storage ( two large wardrobes with plenty of hanging space and shelving and plenty of space in the shower/toilet area for storing toiletries .Other reviews have commented on absence of drawer space but more than compenstated for by shelving. Cleaning of rooms was excellent as was quality of bedding and towels. We were on a bed and breakfast basis . Breakfast buffet had everything you could have wanted plus you could order cooked items either via your mobile or via a waitress at your table. Service was excellent . Tables cleared quickly and items at buffet continually replenished. It was my husbands birthday whilst we were there and a complimentary bottle of cava was delivered to our room. The pool area was great with comfortable sunbeds and parasols if required . As has been noted in other reviews there are a lot of steps up to the pool area but these are well spaced out and not too steep . At 78 years of age I didnt find this a problem although I believe there is a stair lift if needed. Only two minor negatives the first of which is not within the hotel's control: the double sea view rooms get the sun on a morning so it was not possible to sit comfortably on the terrace and read later afternoon as it was a little cool. Only area where I think there is room for improvement is at the roof top terrace bar . There should be at least a couple of parasols over the tables so that you can sit and have a drink in the shade. Also it should surely be possible to have a coffee machine up there and perhaps access to water in the absence of any waiting staff as this area is only staffed intermittently. All in all however we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to anybody looking at the hotels in Port Soller.

Hotel cancelled our booking and refuse to refund our money saying it was non refundable . They cancelled us !!!! See that same issue with Alcudia hotels. Buyer beware. They owe us over €400 but as we paid by credit card we should be refunded. Others may not be so lucky.

Definitely not worth the 4*
The hotel is based at the end of the port with some lovely views over the bay. This in our opinion is the only strong point of the hotel.
We spent the first 2 nights in room 327 a very small room, room smelled quite musty.
We requested to change room after a bad storm hit and our room flooded.
We were moved to room 110, a larger room, however shower flooded on our first night there. Reception staff weren’t happy to see me coming back to complain about the shower leaking, however the leak was sorted quickly.
The pool only opens at 11, pool bar has a small choice of drinks. Lifeguards are eager to start clearing the sun loungers at 5pm when the pool closes at 7pm. Irritating when you want to relax.
Lifeguard also lifts your towels immediately if you leave the pool area, fair enough if you’re gone for hours but we just went to get a quick bite of food.
During our full stay the spa was out of order, we were hoping to visit on the days that it rained.
Breakfast overall is okay, very average buffet breakfast. Staff during breakfast are very friendly.
Hotel is definitely lacking the ‘basics’ there’s not an area of the hotel that is maintained to a 4* standard bar the terrace.
Thankfully we were a young couple but the hotel definitely isn’t accessible for those who aren’t able for steps.
For the cost of the hotel for the week, we were definitely expecting more and left feeling disappointed.

Response from Gabriel Buades, General Manager at Pure Salt Port de Sóller
Responded 14 Oct 2024
Dear Mrs. Katie, Thank you for sharing your experience with us in your review. We are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations, although we are genuinely pleased that you enjoyed the views from our terrace. As you may know, our hotel was impacted by heavy rains, causing significant damage. The storm hit Port de Sóller with such intensity that much was beyond our control. Nonetheless, we did everything possible to ensure your comfort during your stay. Regarding your room change, we were happy to assist with any issues you reported, as supporting our guests is always our priority. We regret that you felt any pressure from our lifeguards, as that was never our intention. We will certainly address thus matters to ensure it is taken into account in the future. We also regret that the Wellness area was inaccessible due to being the most affected part of the hotel, though we continued offering treatment services at our tent by the pool. In summary, we are truly sorry that your experience was not as you had hoped. We would have loved for your stay to have been as enjoyable as any other. We hope to welcome you back next year, and once again, thank you for your feedback. Best regards

Yes. In high season it opens 11am -5pm. It’s quite small with a few tables near it.
Yes, as far as I remember. You could email the hotel; they speak English. The address should be on their website.
The hotel and pool are built into the side of the hill so there are 4 or 5 levels around the pool area. This means there are only about 6/8 loungers around the pool side. But there are around 20 or so other loungers on other levels.
The whole area gets early sun and afternoon sun until around 5pm.
Check the Jet2 website. It has some good images
No not in the rooms but maybe at reception but they didn't have any kettles
The answer is NO. Wardrobe has sufficient hangers. However, no drawers. You could put two sets of drawers under the writing shelf with no problem. I explained this to management and reception and although they received the complaint amiably. No action. I could have sourced drawers somewhere in Majorca.
