The location was fantastic. Aqua Terra Boutique Guesthouse is up a steep hill that's slightly tricky to drive, but the views make it totally worth it. Its within a gated compound, so its totally secure.

Garth and Natalie are the most amazing hosts. Lovely conversationalists and happy to help with recommendations and so many other things. Staying here at Aqua Terra Guest House, felt like we were staying with friends rather than just a B&B.

The view! Oh my God, what can I say about it? It has to be seen to be experienced, photographs can't capture the magnificence.

They have a lovely sit out area near the pool if its too chilly to get in the water itself.

We had the most amazing hot breakfasts here with everything cooked to order.

Our car was absolutely caked with mud, since we had driven through Knysna forest in the rain before arriving at Simons Town. We had planned to get it professionally washed in town, but when we returned in the morning for breakfast after a morning beach trip, a member of staff actually carried multiple buckets of water up flights of stairs and cleaned our mud encrusted car and had it shining almost like new! That was above and beyond any expectations we have ever had of any B&B. Garth & Natalie, you and your staff have set the bar so high, no other place is ever going to come close enough to match it.

We absolutely loved spending a couple of days in Simons Town, we got to reach the penguins way before the tourist buses from Cape Town arrived and so we were able to spend hours with the penguins with no one else around and actually just observe their natural behaviour without any other distractions.

Zora their dog is a darling. She is an outdoor dog, extremely well behaved who can be gentle as a butterfly, but can also be the fiercest watchdog ever!

This was the last stop for my husband and I on our honeymoon and it was truly the grand finale. You drive up to a gated road (loved the security of this!) and the property is the highest house on the top! We walked in and were greeted with a panorama view of the ocean with an infinity pool right in front.
We got the sunrise room with access to our very own pool deck and woke up to the sunrise over the ocean every morning. Breakfast was custom made for each guest and served with amazing company from the hosts. We got fantastic recommendations on where to eat in Simonstown, where and when to go see penguins and how to do the cape of good hope.
Accommodations were spotless. The bathroom even had ocean views!!
The hosts are gracious, knowledgeable, wonderful people and we can't wait to come back again!

This boutique B and B exceeded expectations and the hosts Garth, Natalie and Peter were amazing. Spectacular mountain and sea views and luxurious rooms. Superb breakfast. 10 minutes drive from Simon's Town and close proximity (by car) to Cape Point. We would definitely recommend and visit again.

The first irritation came when we had to pay 50% as non-refundable prepayment immediately after booking and after arrival we were first asked to pay the rest of the sum before the not very friendly check in. I assume the reason is that most people wouldn't stay for a second night.
Unfortunately, we had booked for 3 nights because of the nice pictures from the booking portal. This guesthouse was intended to be the highlight of our trip but we had to recognize that the pictures were only deception.

We had been travelling with a group of 4 and had booked 2 suites (Orca, Coral) and one room (Moon Path) for 3 nights.

The two suites Coral and Orca were huge but totally unmotivated decorated and without any charisma but with view to the adjacent roof of the neighbor house. Sea view is something different.
The entry is separated from the main house and located in the basement. To enter the basement, we had to pass steep steps with a broken hand rail and without any illumination at night which makes the access quite dangerous, especially with luggage. We also didn't get any support to bring our luggage to the rooms.
The hall with the entry of both suites had a terrible moldy smell which was also noticeable into the rooms, especially in suite Coral. Ants were found in the bed of this suite and the water tap was leaky but this has been fixed after we claimed it. There are no shower curtains in the tiny bathroom which makes flooding after taking a shower inevitable.

Suite Orca has a small terrace but without any table and only two foldable camping chairs.
Breakfast is served in the main lobby with a nice view but with a very reduced choice.

The room Moon Path was not too bad, especially the sea view and the decoration a little bit better but like all rooms totally overpriced.

We haven't used the infinity pool because the water looked unattractive dirty and there was no ladder nor stairs to enter. It was also not really located on the sunny side. Seems it was only build for decoration.

Overall, we felt not very welcome and comfortable during our stay and will never book this place again. Pricewise you'll find much better guesthouses in Cape Town.

We stayed here last month in the Executive Suite with a sea view. The room was gorgeous and romantic! 2 walls of window doors that can be opened almost completely and over look False Bay. The view was even more beautiful than the pictures! The room was really nice and the bathroom was very luxurious. There's also a great covered, outdoor patio to enjoy the view with the wine. This B&B is in a gated neighborhood a few km outside of Simon's Town, so you'll need a car. But we found that you will want to rent a car in the Cape Town area anyway, so you can drive to Cape Point, the different beaches, wine country and Cape Mountain and Cape Town itself.
We thought the price was very good for the quality. Would definitely recommend staying here! When we arrived, all we could think was that Aqua Terra was better than the pictures and we wished we were staying longer!!!

Just returned from a 2 week holiday in and around Cape Town which included 3 nights in the executive suite at Aqua Terra. We came across this place on Booking.com and were immediately taken by how impressive the property appeared in the photos and the earlier guest reviews. Our normal choice of lodgings is larger 5 star hotels (the other three hotels we stayed at during this trip were the Mount Nelson, the One & Only and Birkenhead House) so we were initially a little reluctant to give a B&B a try (notwithstanding the attractiveness of the photos etc).

From the moment we arrived we knew those reservations were totally unfounded. This place is amazing; a real gem! We were warmly welcomed by Jenny, one of the owners, who showed us the facilities and our room. The overall property and the rooms have been designed and decorated with impeccable taste and are very modern and contemporary in style. The executive suite has fabulous views from the bedroom and the very large bathroom and has patio doors with direct access to the patio and pool area. The lounge and dining area are again incredibly comfortable and welcoming and immaculately kept - just like being in a very high end show home.

The property itself is located in a gated development a few mins drive from Simonstown. For us this was an absolutely perfect base to spend 3 days with a car and explore the Cape peninsula and surrounding sights. More locally, either Simonstown itself or Kalk Bay (just a short taxi ride away), provide more than enough eating / entertaining options for the evening.

Later we met Jenny’s husband and co-owner, Dirk who has a passion for South African wildlife and who enthusiastically shared with us some incredibly interesting stories about their time in the bush, sharks and the local penguins (check out the books that he’s authored in the rooms / communal areas). Dirk and Jenny are the friendliest and most accommodating hosts you could wish to meet. They made our stay hugely enjoyable and we felt genuinely welcome there. I think on reflection, and while to a degree it is comparing apples with pears, I enjoyed my stay at Aqua Terra more than the other 3 hotels. All the others were excellent in their own and distinct way but we got far more than we had expected from this fantastic little B&B.
