Lovely small boutique guest house with amazing views across the bay. Affordable luxury - large sea facing room was very comfortable with nice touches and large bathroom all styled tastefully. A warm welcome greeted us. Nice breakfast cooked to order.

I really enjoyed my time at Magellan's Passage. The staff, Bonface and Tinashe, made it even more beautiful by rendering amazing service and being attentive to guests' needs. I would definitely go back.

I had a wonderful 4-day stay here whilst in a business trip. In the first instance, the bed was super comfortable and I woke up refreshed and ready for the day. Rooms are spacious and very clean. They’re also well equipped with more appliances than I expected. Breakfast was great and the hotel is well run. I saw few other guests so it was also quiet and peaceful. The view from the bedroom matched the ambience, peace!

The photos on their website look very nice and at first glance the rooms seem to be fine....until you start to settle in. I was grossed out when I opened the cupboard to find two old, dirty worn out pairs of slippers staring at me. Next I noticed that the bathroom floor had hair all over and the same with the shower. Now I had to check the bed and sure enough found some hair in it as well. The duvet cover had never seen an iron before or it was never changed from the previous guest. The towels also had hairs on them. The balcony chair was broken and could not be used. The chair in front of the dresser was so dirty and full of stains you don’t even want to sit on it. But the cherry on the cake with this place was when I found the previous guest’s little love notes against the shower walls. Apparently Doug enjoyed his stay there, as for me, not so much. I won’t be returning.

One of our most beautiful addresses! This refined villa is perched above the ocean. The view from the rooms and the living room is superb. The rooms are bright and well decorated, the bedding perfect, the breakfast delicious, the welcome more than adorable and the value for money exceptional. In short, the superlatives are a little lacking. Thank you!!!

The Magellan was an excellent experience. The rooms were magnificent- large and comfortable. Larger than most hotel rooms. The hotel is perfectly located with an amazing view. The staff was professional and helpful. The food excellent. The hotel was closely located to the training centre. An excellent choice!

The moment you are greeted at the door you are treated like royalty. Darwin, Sam and James are the most caring and delightful people you could wish to have cater for your ever need. NOTHING is too much trouble. The theme is nautical and trendy with clean lines but a cosy welcoming vibe. The Views from the balcony are SPECTACULAR to say the least and you are so high up that you may have died and gone to heaven. From the mouth watering, five star dinners that Darwin prepares, on request, to the service at sunset, with a glass of your favourite, watching the changing views, is just heaven on earth. They have a wonderful selection of first class Cape wines to choose from. The rooms are HUGE and your will not want to get out of your incredibly comfortable bed in the morning. You could get lost in the enormous bathroom with Double size shower and bath, and a spectacular glass vanity slab with double basins. Your own TV couch to cuddle up on and just chill. A seperate lounge for reading and to watch the amazing bird life is an extra treat. A boutique hotel that will make you want to come home to, ... many times over.

Wow! What a view of the sunrise from the top floor. Stunning. Open air veranda inviting you to sit outside and soak it all in. There was way more room that we needed for the two night stay, but I would love to come back in the S.African summer and stay for a week or longer. The bedroom area was comfortable and cozy. The upstairs (sitting area, desk) was an additional pleasure. The bathroom was almost as big as the one in my house!

Being a slow time, we had run of the place. :) Serve yourself bar with honor system tab. Breakfast was cook to order after we gorged ourselves on fruit, yogurt, and these cappuccino muffins that we couldn't stop eating.

The staff was accommodating (we had a ton of luggage), welcoming, and helpful (printed maps of the wineries, gave advice on Uber, restaurant recommendations).

Wish we could have stayed longer.
