Set in the beautiful Red Hill Mountains, overlooking False Bay, this guest house offers elegantly decorated rooms and open spaces. All rooms have lovely balconies with sea views. Free Wi-Fi available in all rooms. We are situated up on the mountainside away from the bustle of town, but still only a short 5 minute walk away. A delicious breakfast with a lovely view of the bay is included in the nightly rate. We have an indoor, heated swimming pool and BBQ facilities.

This guest house exceeded our expectations, the view of teh bay is simply fabulous, the rooms are so clean and so beautifully decorated with a personal touch like fresh lavender placed everywhere. Carmen, the owner, gave us an upgrade which we appreciated so much. The breakfast was freshly prepared to order and was delicious. Carmen and her team really made our stay so memorable, that we do hope to come back one day. Wish the stay had been longer.

A beautiful house with a wide view over the harbor into the bay, very friendly hosts who make you feel welcome straight away. Rooms decorated with great attention to detail, you can sit out on the terrace in the evening. Great breakfast, with an equally great view. You just feel at home all around. The only small downside to the room furnishings: the toilet is only separated by a curtain.

This is one of those places where the pictures honestly do not do it justice at all. The first thing that grabs you is the beautiful clean rooms and then you walk onto the balcony and you are greeted by the most amazing view of the ocean. The entire experience at A Boat House is totally 5 star. The owners and staff, the setting, the rooms, the food, and the small touches that go into making the guests stay that extra special. I will definitely be staying here again the next time I am in CPT.

We loved our stay at A Boat House. The place is so welcoming, the decor is beautiful shabby chic New England style with nautical themed artefacts. Breakfast is served in the most gorgeous room, so tranquil with spectacular views over False Bay. The food was fabulous with a choice of main courses along with fruit, delicious home-baked cakes, juices and yogurt. We were constantly offered more tea/coffee by the lovely, attentive staff (Beauty & Elise). The tea was beautifully served in mismatched china teapot and delicate cups and saucers. It was a joy to relax over breakfast and chat whilst admiring the gorgeous view. The owners were always there to make helpful suggestions for trips or restaurants and are very knowledgeable about the local area.
Our room was The Quarter Deck with a balcony with fab views of the bay and port. The room itself was decorated in the same nautical theme with some lovely quirky touches like a decanter of sherry and fresh milk in the fridge everyday. It was quite small but had plenty of wardrobe space and the shower was spacious and powerful complete with full-size toiletries.
The lovely lounge/breakfast room was a great space to sit and relax in all day and the staff were only too happy to serve tea and coffee whenever requested to go with the cake and sherry that was always available for guests to help themselves to.
We didn’t use the pool but it looks lovely in another quirkily decorated part of the house.
Our 6 night stay was wonderful, we felt so welcome by all the staff and Therese & Ludwig went above and beyond to ensure we had a truly memorable stay in Simon’s Town. A Boat House is not a glossy 5 star Hotel but anything it lacks in modern amenities it more than makes up for in charm and personal touches, we LOVED it.

A Boat House. Great location, great view. Warm welcome from our host Ludwig. Room has everything one needs except for the location of the plugs to charge ones mobile in the room.
Rooms have favours facilities such as microwae, fridge, plunge coffee, Sherry for a cold winters night. Would definitely return and stay a little longer!

From beautiful decor to amazing views to delicious breakfast, the list can go on and on! Simon's Town is an excellent location to explore the beaches and all the touristy spots and Boat House is simply the best!

Stunning views of the bay from all levels of the property. Elevated from the town but an easy (but steep) walk to harbor and center of Simon's Town.
Room was beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean and well stocked with little extras to make the stay special.
Breakfast is a real highlight with a choice of delicious food, well served by the very likeable hosts and staff.
All around a fantastic stay and highly recommended.

We had a very comfortable stay. The views are spectacular. The location is perfect - central, yet quiet. Our host was very accommodating - allowing us to store our bicycles in the garage and even collect them late after check out. Breakfast was delicious! Do not skip it and ask for the chef's specialty - don't even ask beyond dietary concerns.

Erika W asked a question Jul 2017
Where can one park?
Answer from Alexis_AJB
Cape Town Central, South Africa14 contributions5 helpful votes
There is parking for about 6 cars by their main entrance on Dolphin Way. It's off-street but not behind a gate (although Dolphin Way is a cul-de-sac so there isn't a lot of foot or road traffic). We walked down to Simonstown Main road from our room, it took about 5 min, whereas driving into town would've taken longer (and then you'd have to find parking on the Main road)
