This hotel is a good option but not the best we’ve experience in Albania. Overall, the room was clean and the staff was incredibly friendly! We checked in very late and unexpectedly and the gentleman at the front desk was more than happy to accommodate us. There was a small stain on our comforter and the toilet seat, closet and soap holder were broken. We paid the same price for another hotel in Albania that we enjoyed more. They also told us they’d accept card (we came prepared with cash but preferred card) and when we went to pay, they said they would not. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast the next morning as they cooked it for us after we sat down and brought everything to our table. When we woke up and opened the window - the view of the beach was incredible!

The hotel is situated right on the beach. Lovely view from the balcony. Ok breakfast.
People are friendly and kind. Be prepared though that your room wouldn’t be cleaned, toilet paper and clean towels will be missing. But the lovely reception staff will fix that every time so you do accept the inconvenience.

It's a comfortable, good price-quality hotel. The rooms are clean, and nicely designed. The breakfast can be a little boring, the same food every morning, but the quality is very good, tasty and always fresh. It can be sometimes a bit loud, as it is near the amusement park.

Awful management with no concept of customer service - they had an argument with us after the management (Vaso & his mother) shouted at my 10 year old sister when she was alone!

None of the facilities (swimming pool or spa) worked and we had no prior warning, so we had to pay extra to use the spa at another hotel! There was not a safe in any room. There were wires dangerously hanging out of sockets. There was no kettle or complimentary water in the rooms.

They did not clean the rooms properly, we stayed for 8 days and they did not change the bedsheets once even when we requested it! They did not hoover or mop the bedroom floors. There were 4 beds in our room but they would only give 2 towels. Previous guests clothes were left in our cupboard. The bathroom doors didn’t lock. There was a drain smell coming from the bathroom.

Never again. If this hotel have been in another country in Europe, it would either have been closed or only a 2 star hotel… The breakfast is so bad, and is not filled up, we had to wait 25 minutes to get some bread, and when the waiter finally came with it, she only had half a bread and now we where 18 people waiting for it… Come on it is bread! Bring some more!! No glases for the juic
The cleaning of the place is a joke, why do it when you do it so bad? We left after 4 days of our one week stay

The stay at this hotel was a complete disappointment. The staff was extremely rude and seemed to make no effort to make our stay enjoyable. Additionally, the rooms for me and my colleague were very far apart, making it uncomfortable for us to collaborate. The food and drinks were of very poor quality, and the fact that the air conditioning and fridge in both rooms didn't work made the stay even more unpleasant. As if that wasn't enough, there was only a short supply of hot water, making showering a rushed and uncomfortable experience. All in all, a hotel to absolutely avoid.

After writing this review on booking.com, we were attacked and insulted by the staff during checkout because we left a bad review, which is truly absurd!!!

The rooms are very old. It is not worth the money you pay. It is a 4 star hotel, but it looks a lot cheaper. From the outside seems very nice, but inside, the rooms are old, it is not clean enough and you find pieces of the wall pain on the ground. For the conditions the room and the hotel has, it should be more cheaper. Dissapointed.

We staied in the hotel only for 1 night. But experience with hotel is really interesting. After our arrival we were welcome from unfriendly staff on recepcion. We had a small standard room. Bathroom is really old and not nice. In the evening i asked a lady on reception for print my bording pass. She asked me for 1€ for each. Its a standard of 4*hotel? I mean, this service in 4* hotel must to be include in the hotel rate.
The biggest problem was with our departure. Some of the guest blocked our car on hotel parking. The recepcionist didnt speak english, but he confirmed me about his mistake with guest parking which arrived at 3am. So we need to go and wake up other guest to reparl their vehicle. Receptionist only catch guests car key and asked me to repark their car? But why me? Its not our job to repark other peoples car and wake up them early in the morning.
There was a problem to catch our flight trom Tirana for this morning situation.

This hotel is maximum 2*-3*, definitly not 4*hotel.

We stayed at the Hotel Vivas from 19th till 26th June. Intrigued by a short visit to Saranda from Corfu last year, we decided to explore Albania a bit more.
The hotel is perfectly located, directly on a marvelous, long sandy beach, ideal for beach strollers, especially in the (early9 morning. The hotel has its own sunbeds & umbrellas for free, always guarded. You get a ticket from the reception confirming that you’re the hotel guest. Have in mind: when going to the beach, you cannot go through the stairs & passage toward the restaurant if you’re dressed for the beach, but must go through the main entrance and besides the bar to the beach. The pool looks nice, but was too cold for us. After all, the clean blue sea is much better. Only, it is shallow for quite a distance, but the bay is safe and you can go on till the depth enough for swimming.
We had a nice sea view room with enough space and a lovely balcony. The bathroom was also spacious and ok, but lacking a hair dryer (although we didn’t need it). One peculiarity: the bidet was put so close to the shower cabin wall that it was hard to put the leg between them.
The food was good, but without much variety for dinner, a soup, only two meat dishes, potatoes or pasta. The choice of salads was better. You got a jug of water on the table and could get it filled as you like. There was no fish for half-board guests, although in the brochure it boasts of a restaurant with fresh fish from the Adriatic. Well, we forgave them, because the Albanians are still learning about tourism and are really struggling to improve it. The staff is nice, mostly young, helpful, quite capable of answering to you in English, Italian, Greek and Serbian. Advice: possibly you’ll be told to ask the waiters for money exchange, but then wait till there is someone at the reception desk to do it. The best would be to go to the center (3 km from the hotel, local bus is very cheap) where you can find several exchange offices.
The town of Durres is lovely, interesting, with a leisure atmosphere. Visit the largest ancient amphitheatre in the Balkans. You may be a bit disappointed by its decrepitude, but discover the tunnels underneath (don’t miss the chapel!). Also, visit the Venetian Tower, and just walk around the streets. The cafes are lively, cheap (even for us Croats).
Warning: when walking along the main street outside the hotel, be very careful cause many sewer lids on the pavement are missing (the depth is over half a meter!). Surprisingly we haven’t seen anybody falling in.
A must is to try an original Albanian bourek – a pastry filled either by cheese, spinach, meat, tomatoes and other stuff, tasty and very cheap.
And do visit Tirana, very lovely city with a uniquely relaxing atmosphere and a lot of things to be seen.

Hotel Vivas is located on private sand beach. One part of the beach is used by guests of hotel and the other part is used by others out of hotel (that service is paid). For guests of hotel use of chair decks, parasols and pool is free. Beach and pool are cleaned every day. Also, beach has a guard. Rooms have see view or street view. Some of the rooms don’t have balcony but they are bigger. Furniture is a bit older but functional. Bathrooms are renovated and have hair dryer. Rooms have TV, air-condition and mini-bar. Rooms are cleaned every day, towels are changed also every day and sheets are changed every third day. Hotel doesn’t have towels for beach but has towels on pool. The restaurant is spacious and tidy. Breakfast is based on the buffet. Near hotel are lot of restaurants with tasteful and various food. Hotel doesn’t have live music but restaurant near does have. It ends in 24h. Nearby is Big market where you can buy water and similar.
