We had heard good things about the Green Roof Inn and it is an easy walk from Hillsborough so we made our way there. The menu was simple, but everything was organic and produced locally. My choice was the cheeseburger and it was delicious, there were six people in our party and everyone was happy about their meal. I look forward to visiting again!

Green Roof Inn is in a lovely situation with views over the sea and a pretty garden. Our room was a little cramped but adequate and we had a terrace outside. However the mosquito net was too small to cover the bed and we couldn't access the cupboard properly as the fridge was in the way. Dinner waz very good and pleasant staff. If only the owners were more in evidence and resolved some things it would make all the difference. This was our kind of place and it could be fantastic.

The Inn is not glitzy or elegant (well, the dining area is a bit) but it is relaxing and in a wonderful location. The rooms are basic but comfortable, and the grounds are pleasant. Breakfast is simple and delicious. Dinners are superb. The innkeeper is very accommodating and a wonderful chef besides. His emphasis on sustainability is genuine. If you share his values, you'll love this place.

We visit Carriacou every year since 8 years. The food here was always good along with the service. This year we were unpleasantly surprised @ the quality of the food and the service. We informed the cook and she spoke to us. We explained that we were disappointed because till now we have eaten here quite well She was not understanding and was unfriendly in her attitude. Ok maybe she had a bad day which is understandable but she could @ least have acknowledged our complaint and said sorry. This restaurant is now off our list.

This is the worst hotel I have ever seen anywhere. My wife and I have owned and operated hotels for 40 years. Green Roof Inn has location which is great but our room had no working windows, no curtain over the balcony door, no flushing toilet, no plug in the basin, no hot water. When we arrived, no lights or power points worked. After some time, we found a woman who found a man and the electricity was made to work for a few minutes before failing again. No food unless we arranged for a cook to come in (a restaurant was claimed). Asking for drinks from the bar found nothing available. We suffered many mosquito bites as the only way to get fresh air was to leave balcony door open. After 1 night, bleeding and angry we left and were not asked to pay for the room.

I FEEL ROBBED. I paid EC$ 20 (US$ 7.5) for a two-bites chocolate cake. When I saw the price I thought it was expensive but I was expecting a reasonable size. However, when the cake came I was extremely disappointed. It really ruin me the experience of the nice and lobster tail they served. I am sorry but what it could have been a 5/5 stars I have no choice but to bring attention to the desserts in the menu.

We stayed at the Green Roof Inn for just one night. We stayed at the Rex Grenadian for most of the holiday so it was a wonderful escape to a rural, traditional setting with goats and chickens. I loved it here it felt like a real Caribbean hideaway. I love this island, it is magical. Paradise beach is so beautiful and it was just the two of us there that day. The Green Roof is in a beautiful setting. The rooms are basic with an old fashioned roof fan and mosquito net. But this only adds to its charm. The shutters open onto a beautiful garden. The sound of goats, dogs and roosters at night was great. My only negative was the breakfast very basic just toast and cereal. The restaurant was not open that night so we could not comment on that. We ate at a sweet restaurant called Callaloo by the Sea which was great. If you like walking then it is awesome for the views and the flowers are beautiful. I could have stayed here all fortnight even though they were just a few restaurants. One evening we asked a restaurant if they were open. The girl replied yes but we have no food. Brilliant!

To the positive: - beautiful location and surroundings. - nice room - good and friendly service at the bar and restaurand upstairs.
To the negative: - chaos at room allocation. They did not find the Booking.com confirmation. - higher price on the bill as agreed via Booking.com (and they said that it was our fault!) - clogged sink by hair and debris. - no hot water in the evening. In the morning only later on. - overflowing toilet flush over the bathroom floor. - mosquito net had to be closed with washing pegs. And there were many mosquito's!
I think that the fact that the Swedish owners are absent snd have left the management to local staff causes the lack of maintenance.

My significant other and I arrived after booking online. The inn keeper wasn't ready for us and had no idea we were coming. The place was empty. The room was scary at best. The mattress was torn and stained. The bathroom wasnt working properly. The grounds were a mess with garbage. The cab driver that dropped us off was surprised that we even booked at this place. We stayed for an hour before leaving. We walked away and literally just wandered the streets until we found another place to stay. The refused to refund us. The site we booked off was good enough to step up and offer a partial refund and also pulled the inn off of their site. The pictures of this place are very deceiving .

If you want a very quiet, hands-off place to stay, this will do the trick. The rooms are adequate and clean, the view is gorgeous, with good access to the shore. You can sit on the porch and watch the hummingbirds and lizards. Good internet access.
What I didn't like: inadequate mosquito netting on the beds, the breakfast was a bit paltry, and they acted like they'd never seen a woman traveling alone before. Also, they're very hands off -- if you're looking for a place that will help you find things to do on Carriacou try Bayleau Cottages.
Also, if I needed anything at night I was out of luck. Everybody went home early - a couple of nights I was there completely by myself. There are no phones in the rooms, and the only phone was in the office, so I was happy that nothing happened.
