Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a ground floor studio unit with a small area out the front where you could sit and admire the view across the water to Wellington. There is a bit of traffic as its a main road, once doors are shut it was quiet.
The room and bed was comfortable however we found it a bit small and cramped with the lounge chairs at the bottom of the bed then the desk right in front of the chairs.
The bathroom was modern and had a little trolley to put your personal things on.
Kitchenette was very small, a little awkward making just toast and tea in the morning.
Very clean and staff were very friendly, parking was free and in a good location.

We stayed just one night at B-K’s Esplanade Motor Lodge before our early morning ferry. Check in was easy. Milk supplied for our unit. We had a one bedroom unit which had an extremely comfortable queen bed, roomy bedroom, lovely bedding. There was a single bed in the living room for our daughter. Huge bathroom with spa bath (shower over), toilet and hand basin. Good shelving for items. Toiletries supplied. Small kitchenette, good sized plates and mugs etc. Fridge and microwave standard. Table and 4 chairs and the best bit - 2 lazy boy type chairs. So often motel rooms don’t have comfortable seating!
Everything was spick and span! We were very comfortable and would highly recommend this motel.

We spent 2 nights after crossing on the ferry from Picton. It is a fairly quick drive from the ferry, and there are shops and restaurants within walking distance. We had a room facing the water, so great views, though a bit of traffic noise heard. We drove into Wellington to tour for one day, so easy to drive back into town. Lovely walk along the beach in the evening.

The space in the room was a bit tight with the 2 recliner chairs at the end of the bed. Bed was comfortable and kitchenette well supplied for our needs.

Stayed here for 2 nights before travelling to the South Island via the nearby ferry terminal.
A great appointed room facing the sea, large comfy bed, 2 reclining chairs, kitchenette which was well stocked, large jacuzzi bath, plenty of parking space and free WiFi. It is a short stroll to town and train station and the motel faces the beach.
Overall a great place to stay and would stay again if in the area.

Had a fantastic week at this property 17 of us. Could not do enough for us. Always ready with a smiling face as we left and returned. Greatly appreciated use of the conference room for countless games of 500 etc.

Thank you to both of you from all of us.
Would definitely recommend booking here and next time we are in Wellington we will be staying here

Fantastic place, friendly check in, good price, beautiful well equipped bathroom. Complimentary biscuits & bottles of water. The lazy boys were great!! The motel also has a gym. Walking distance to the shops & restaurants.

We had two rooms - one was small (but perfectly adequate for two adults) & had an amazing view over the ocean. The other was a good size & had a double in the lounge & two singles in the bedroom.

We would definitely stay here again.

I’m sitting on my balcony enjoying a glass of red wine at the end of a long day and look out on the water . Yes there is traffic whizzing past but actually right now I don’t seem to mind . The rooms are clean and well appointed , I feel comfortable and relaxed 😌 and looking forward to my morning walk . Next time I’ll pack my swimsuit 🩱👍🍷

Visited for work for one week. Was thrilled to have a room with a view straight out onto the esplanade. Absolutely beautiful.
Slightly noisy but an easy trade off ..
Cannot fault the room. Recliner chairs were amazing after a long day. Rooms serviced to a high standard.
Great amenities and parking was a breeze.
The only reason I can’t give 5 stars is after a luke warm greeting at reception when checking in, I never actually saw anybody on the front desk for the entire time.
What makes the difference between yourselves and your competitors is that seemingly small thing.
I’m in Wellington every second week for business.
Would I stay again? Absolutely.
But my usual accommodation just goes the extra mile. Thanks

We stayed for 5 nights and were very pleased with this accommodation. It had everything we needed. Our room was clean, fresh and comfortable for 2 adults and our teenager. Walking distance to eateries. Great, easy parking. This place was perfect for us, we will recommend to others.

I only stayed in one room and it had a king size bed. The building has 2 floors and I don't recall there being an elevator. There is a comprehensive website with an email address for questions. Ask them direct. they were friendly and helpful.

I see others have responded. I like the way this motel has no steps from the carpark straight into your large unit. I hope that is helpful.
