Amazing hotel on the banks of the river, would definitely recommend the river view suites. Restaurant is under a huge tree, very cool. Service is attentive and friendly, food was really good. Very close to all the archeological sites.
Located in old Bagan, you can easily scoot around with your scooter to visit all the temples nearby. You can hire it from the hotel. Good breakfast and the restaurant by the river serves good lunch and dinner. And it is a good place to see the sunset over the river. Not forget to mention how lovely and friendly all the staff in the hotel from the front desk to the restaurant staff. Kudo to them, always be there and willing to serve. Highly recommended.
Fantastic friendly staff, they really do their bedst! Perfect location in Bagan! We would love to come back. The sunset from the restaurant is really beautyful. The hotel has a nice garden and pool and the rooms are well placed in the garden.
The hotel is located in the middle of old archeological park so very near to the main attractions in Bagan. The hotel's rooms are spacious, huge and the bathrooms are very huge. Overall a very comfortable stay. The food in hotel was also very good with loads of variety. It is located about 11 km from airport. From hotel, bikes are easily available to visit the Bagan city. Would highly recommend this hotel to people visiting Bagan. It's absolutely worth the money.
We greatly enjoyed our four-night stay here in a Deluxe River View room. I can't really fault anything. The location of the hotel was perfect being located in Old Bagan itself and it was close to a lot of temples. Our room was spacious and comfortable with everything you would expect to be provided - the view out onto the Irrawaddy River from our veranda was breathtaking with amazing sunsets. The hotel grounds were beautiful in a garden setting. The restaurant had a beautiful view of the river and set under a massive tree - which when lit up at night was quite magical. The swimming pool was fine and good place to relax and cool off after a day of exploring. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful - the restaurant maitre d' in particular was outstanding he worked very hard, nothing was too much trouble and he was extremely helpful. The hotel offered E-bike rental which was very convenient and we took advantage of this every day - 5,000 Kyat for four hours, 9,000 Kyat for all day. One tip - the kitchen here struggles to cope with a large volume of diners, so best to reserve a table in advance and pre-order your food and it is ready for you at the requested time.…
We had a lovely room a pool bungalow and loved our stay - beautiful sunsets, comfortable bed after a busy day touring! We left early our first morning for our hotel air balloon experience and returned to breakfast which was fine. The next day we needed to leave for 6.45 for the airport to travel onto our next part of the tour (flight to Mandalay) and despite breakfast from 6 nothing was prepared and coffee didn’t arrive. It was a little disappointing on our final morning! Not sure if this is the norm or if they had issues that particular morning. Other than that difficult to fault this hotel. Reception Staff were very efficient.
The hotel is tired and requires improvement. Upon check in the vibe and tone was set. The staff lobby staff were unfriendly and because we were traveling with our children (so a party of 2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 11) they made no concession for extra bed - wanted to charge us AUD$55 per night! We checked online and we could have booked another room would have been AUD$64!! Needless to say we were not impressed! When we got to the room it was dark - curtains were thin so the room was never dark at night the outside light would shine through and to top it all off, the bedding were ripped and tattered. Definitely would not recommend.
The hotel exceeded my expectations in the attractiveness of the setting and the facilities offered. In these ways, it meets western standards for an upscale hotel. My "bungalow" room was quite large and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and service was very good. I had a very nice stay. The big buffet breakfast was decent. I rented an e-bike from the hotel with ease. There were three issues that mattered. First, I am not a cleanliness freak by a long shot, but the bathroom floor was dirty. If I complain about dirt, you should be alarmed, because I never notice! The bathroom floor needed scrubbing badly. The daily cleaning, and I'm not sure they cleaned the floor, was not adequate. I understand that, wearing sandals in this dusty climate, feet and bathroom floors get dirty, but in a hotel at this level, I expect daily removal of that dirt. Second, as other reviewers have noted, the motorboats on the river operate without mufflers, and the open air restaurant is on the bank of the river and it is not a tranquil experience. It's not dissimilar from eating on the curb of the highway. Third, I reserved a bungalow, but my room was not a bungalow -- a cottage -- as that word is used in standard English. It was a room in a unit with at least 3 other rooms. The bathrooms had no soundproofing, and I had neighbors who sang and watched television at all hours. Closing the bathroom door dealt with that issue generally.…
I stayed here for two nights. The first night there was a $20USD buffet. The only other option was room service. The second night was a la carte. We waited 1 1/2 hours for our meals which were almost inedible. Unfortunately, there are not many other food options close by except street food. Breakfast was better. The poor staff looked like it was normal to have such terrible service and terrible food.
The hotel is very well located, the gardens are wonderful with a beautiful river view. The restaurant outside is also very nice (but chilly in winter, they should provide and indoor restaurant). The rooms are big, sufficiently comfortable for a 2 night stay. Could be improved (also the bathroom, too cold). The spa was disappointing, very, very cold (we complained and had a 50% discount, but what we really wanted was a relaxing experience - just add some heating system for winter). But globally it was a good experience and I would return.
