We just stayed here for the second time with extended family (4 adults, 4 children), and we are all planning for a third return. The animals (mostly zebra, waterbuck, and giraffe) roam freely around the property, which is such a treat! I loved waking up to zebra right outside my door! The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. The staff are very friendly and courteous. They seem to always ask if you are enjoying yourself and if you want or need anything. The lodge is very pretty on the inside, and has a combination of rustic and modern feel. Also, the food is incredible! I can’t say enough about the food- there is a large variety of dishes at each meal and every dish is delicious. Like I said, this place checks all the boxes. We will definitely return for another stay in the future!

Our family spent 2 nights at Sopa Lodge Naivasha while visiting Crescent Island, hiking Mt. Longomot and biking through Hells Gate NP. The lodge was an oasis in between our very active plans and we thoroughly enjoyed the expansive and well maintained grounds filled with wildlife. The main lodge is stunning and our twin room clean, enormous and very comfortable. Food is served buffet style and there was always something new to try as well as your standard favorites like the made to order pasta bar. We especially enjoyed winding down with a cocktail in the main lodge looking over the lawn before dinner. It appears this lodge is popular with tour groups going to and from Masai Mara, but we encourage active travelers to consider coming to Naivasha on its own for merit for the abundant outdoor activities in the nearby parks (Mt. Longomot & Hells Gate). You won't be disappointed and may have it all to yourself!

Ashnil resort is well deep in the Masai Mara forest adjoining Mara river. The tents were closest to nature and gave real feel. Staff was very warm and friendly. Advised to carry woolens for nights. Management is advised to provide water faucets in toilets. They may increase their tariffs marginally but provide free drinking water . Pradeep Srivastava

We stayed for 2 nights in June. The rooms were huge (twin room had two queen beds, plus a lounge area & outdoor patio). There was cute wildlife everywhere, all seemingly very obliging for photographs - the baby zebras were a favourite. The pool area looked fantastic (it was unheated so too cold to swim in June), and the grounds were meticulously maintained. As a very large resort, it lacked the personalisation of the other Sopa venues we stayed at - the dining room/buffet in particular felt very crowded (though at least everyone was wearing masks). Laundry services were also a little expensive.

Polite staff, clean rooms with gorgeous view. The food quality was very good. The resort is big enough to do outdoor activities like jogging around or walking. There are plenty of zebras, giraffes, colobus monkeys and beautiful birds all around. In June the weather was to cold to swim in the pool, but the pool area was beautiful too. Everything was good except the bathroom. The water barrier wasn’t good enough and it was all wet after the shower and there was no separate wet and dry zone.

Whilst our rooms were spacious, they are not very clean. there were obvious signs oversight or carelessness on the housekeeping department. The towels provided are old and certainly would need to be changed. The beds were however very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. we were provided with extra blankets and hot water bottles . Food is average and bland. They do not refill the buffet stations as food gets finished. and neither is there much variety.

My colleague and I brought 16 students from Michigan for a night at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort after working in Nairobi for ten days and before heading to the Mara. We had a fantastic time around the property -- seeing so many amazing animals, eating amazing meals and in the lovely rooms. The manager Gideon and the rest of his staff went out of his way to help us retrieve a hard drive that was left behind, as well. The price was also super reasonable. We will for sure be back next year. I can't recommend this property highly enough!

We arrived here on Good Friday for one night. The setting was beautiful, lots of animals roaming and gorgeous views of the lake. BUT… Whilst we were here we felt quite uncomfortable, a few times the host at reception spoke to us badly. Unfortunately this ruined the stay for us. There was a lot of problems with the long walk back to the room, a member of our party is disabled and had long waits for a car to pick her up and drop her off. In the end we couldn’t wait to leave, which is a real shame as we’d looked forward to our stay.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort. The main lodge is really beautiful and feels particularly African. As tourists from the US, we were excited and impressed by the unique appearance and design of the lodge. The staff were very good. The dining options were varied and well prepared. This was a great stay in an intriguing and beautiful place.
