You don't sleep well, because mattresses are of low quality and noise from other rooms is easily heard. Rooms are really tiny. You can hardly move in the bathrooms. A shower wets the floor and remains as-is even on the following day. If you get a room with a window to the exterior, you get cold during the night, even if the heater is on. The breakfast is poor.

My two friends and I booked into oro blanco the night before our salt flats tour. The man at the reception was unfriendly on our arrival. After giving our passports we followed him up three flights of stairs with our backpacks on only to be told aggressively to go back downstairs until he was ready. The room was tiny (we had booked a triple and it had one bunk bed and a single with very little space between - not representative of the rooms displayed on booking.com) In the morning the shower flooded and soaked through onto the carpet in the main room wetting our bags. On speaking to the man at reception he again became aggressive. We showed him the flooded shower basin but he insisted it was our fault. We asked to use another shower but he said that wasn't necessary and insinuated that we had damaged the room. We ended up having to ask guests at breakfast to borrow their shower in order to wash.
I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Breakfast good, but only until 9am.
WiFi is completely useless.
Only power point in the room was so loose that nothing (including the heater) would connect.. Couldn't charge anything.
Awkward clear glass door to toilet.
No hot water for showering.
Location is fine, as are the beds.
This place definitely needs a lot of fixing to make it traveler friendly.

The guy at the reception refused to show us the room, but insisted we had to pay the full price before we were allowed to check the room. After we told him we would take the room if it just was clean, he still insisted on payment first. As it was late already we decided to take the risk and book the room anyway. But then he started to insult us as stupid tourists and worse and told us to leave.
We have been traveling in south america for half a year and have never experienced such unfriendly, disrespectful and racist behaviour anywhere.

What can I say, I have never been treated so rudely by the receptionist. I asked to view the room before confirming and he said either take it or leave it. I asked what the problem was and he LITERALLY pushed me out of the door. Maybe he was having a bad day but there was absolutely no neee to be so rude.

We have been travelling for 5 months and this is the worst hostel experience we've had!

We asked prior to our arrival for early check in after our night bus; we received an email saying "okay". We got to the hostel at 6am as anticipated and the receptionist told us we didn't have a reservation. We showed the email confirmation and he said we could have a room until 11am when we'd have to change rooms.

9am the same guy knocks on our door wanting our passports: we said we'd take them downstairs and he could use them with us there. We were then confronted by an angry receptionist who told us we would have to pay for two nights instead of the one we were staying for. When I started to speak to explain the situation she told me to be quiet. When she let me speak, I explained I thought we'd already resolved this situation with the previous guy; she said he was just a youth (implying he didn't know what he was doing). I said he still works for the hostel and it makes no difference to me if he's young or not.

The room was absolutely freezing and when I asked her for a heater she just said the one word of "no". We heard our neighbours asking for heater later in the day and one was delivered to their door.

The bathroom also flooded when using the shower and the water spread into our carpeted, bedroom floor meaning we had to keep a lot of our belongings on our beds to keep them dry.

The receptionist was so rude and confrontational that I felt threatened and nervous for the rest of the stay. I would strongly advise not staying here!

Dear all travellers,

If you plan to visit salt flat in uyuni. Please avoid to stay at hostal oro blanco !!

We stayed for 1 night at this accom and it was nightmare. We booked the room for 2 people.

The room we got has no heater, we came back from the uyuni day tour at night and the room was so cold, so we asked the staff to find out where is the heater located in the room. He finally pull some small heater for us and keep saying that this heater can be used only until midnight and dont touch the heater because it is so expensive. He kept saying that if i touch and it breaks, i need to pay them 5,000 bolivian peso (he said this for more than 5 times). I asked him that why it stops at midnight since the coldest time is normally after midnight to dawn. He did not answer but said dont touch and if it breaks i need to pay 5,000 bolivian peso.

We end up almost fight since he asked me to leave the hotel now if i dont like to stay. It was 10pm at night, do i have a choice, but just stay in cold room for the whole night.

The staffs in this hostal are very bad especially the guy with glasses who stay at night shift (he said like he is an owner of the hostal). Not friendly at all.

Anyone want to visit the beautiful nature in uyuni, should avoid staying here to enjoy your vacation and not bothering with this accom.

We had booked into the hostal via booking.com. We arrived and started the check in process with a lovely woman. Then a man came over (presumably the owner) and indicated that we would have to pay in advance, something that was totally ok if we could check the room first (as most people would do if they were asked to pay in advanced). After asking to check the room he became irrational and agitated and demanded that we leave. We both were a bit baffled about what was happening and he just grew angrier and we left to find another hotel nearby. A very strange experience.

Also we noticed a sign that indicated there was a 5usd charge to use the kitchen that was advertised FYI

I normally never write a recommendation but here the stuff is so damn unfriendly that I just don't want that more people go there. In 6 month a of travelling I never came a cross with personal like this. The rooms are ok. For heating you pay extra. But just every time I saw the stuff I got angry. Would love to give 0 stars. This hotel sucks like Uyuni itself. Sorry for the hard words but it was ridiculous.

The hotel maybe worth 150 Bs and probably quote as much if you walk in. But on booking websites you are paying double. Why don't you use this money to book at a nicer hotel?! The front desk is extremely rude if you find out the hotel room is subpar and want to cancel the reservation. Hostal Daison nearby charges 160Bs and has a much more friendly management
