Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Well, you don't exactly have many options in Uyuni - this was fine. I suspect other hostel options aren't better, and you're probably not staying in Uyuni for long. They serve a basic breakfast (though more extensive than the usual bread and jam). The wifi is spotty and drops off regularly.

I'm gonna be honest, the rooms are rough. I think the bedding is older than I am. This is the overnight train berth of hostels. It's not pretty but it did the job and you don't really have better options. Worth it due to the necessity to stay in Uyuni as a jumping off point for Salar de Uyuni!

The bunker hostel is a nice hostel in the center of Uyuni. It's simple but clean. Breakfast is included and good (buffet). We really liked it. Everything is a little bit old, but nevertheless value for money is okay there.

We got stuck in Uyuni due to the road blockages in La Paz and had to book a last minute hostel. This hostel is lovely and the staff are really helpful! the rooms are basic but plenty of blankets and running hot water. The staff are flexible and helpful with helping you book hostels further along the way. The breakfasts are decent and one of the nights we stayed in for food and was lovely and cheap! The price of the hostel with the food and location i found was cheap and would highly reccomend to anyone going there.

So the hostel itself was as average as you’d expect. The bunk beds were then mental things that wobbled insanely on any movement and the WiFi was advertised as amazing but didn’t work in the rooms and worked slowly in the communal areas.

My main problem with this place came with the creepy male receptionist. I didn’t get his name but he had a massive stretcher in each ear. Any male that checked in was just given the key, given a brief description on where to go and sent on their way. Whereas any female was given a grand tour, lots of information and were escorted to their room. When sat in a nearby area trying to use the WiFi I heard him use the same phrase to 3 different girls checking in saying “omg I love your accent”. May seem harmless to each girl but having a receptionist trying to hit on every female that enters the building is really off putting and a few females I spoke to in the hostel also said they felt uncomfortable around him. A hostel is a place for backpackers to rest, not a place to try pick up any female that moves! He was extremely blunt and rude to me when I was asking questions about the current status of Bolivia, laughing at me and saying that I was *insert rude word here* for booking a flight from Santa Cruz.

I stayed here for one night before the salt flats tour. The rooms and facilities were okay, but the breakfast was amazing and the staff were really helpful - I had to make a call to La Paz and they let me use their phone several times.

Very basic hostel. Not enough facilities (shower and toilet). Cramp bed. Breakfast is good though.
No possibility to use common rooms after check-out but only for a fee - and that fee is different from customer to customer (ranging from 4-6 USD for a shower) meaning probably some extra money in the pocket for the guy working at the reception. That’s the reason why you should better NOT book tours or bus transfer at the hostel.
No room to store luggage, open doors all day, reception rarely occupied - so not safe.
Even for a simple overnight stay for the 4x4 tours not recommended although there are almost no alternatives.

I arrived in Uyuni on the train so the location of Bunker was perfect - right next to the train station. Not that Uyuni is big - it is very easy to walk to everything.
The room was fine - I had booked a dorm and it was a small room with a bunk and a double bed, which was kind of a bit weird when sharing with one other random guy, but after he left it was like having a private room. The bed was comfy, the room was warm and the shower was hot most of the time. It was clean - it even seemed loke they mopped the carpet! The Wi-Fi dropped out occasionally although I also managed to have a video call on it. Staff were friendly enough. I didn't have the breakfast so can't comment on it. Definitely a good option for Uyuni.

Stayed here for 1 night before going on the Salar tour. Small town so most locations are good. Had a private room with private bathroom. Our room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time and there was dust and hairs all over. Bathroom had a shower and toilet in one so after the shower, the toilet is wet. If we were there for longer or had time to move we would have changed hostels. Staff were friendly though. Would not stay here again.
