This is our second camp to visit in the Desert and Safari portfolio of camps. And it did not disappoint! The accommodations were a step up and the location spectacular for tracking and observing the felines, lions, cheetahs and leopards. Our expert guide Gee could not be nicer and more capable of finding our feline friends and then situating us close enough to observe them safely. We have gorgeous photos that even National Geographic would be jealous. But it is also important to mention the beautiful landscape, where even dead trees add amazing character and beauty. Lastly, the rooms are large nicely decorated tents with wood floors and beamed ceilings, which provide luxurious comfort and safety after your ventures into the wilderness. The staff is warm and very attentive of every need. Providing luxurious and friendly hospitality is not easy and requires diligence, but doing so in the wilderness, is a huge challenge and makes one appreciate it ever so more. So big thank you the entire equipe at Camp Moremi!

We arrived in Africa on the 5th June & started in Zimbabwe… Camp Moremi was our last accommodation on our safari. As with the other 2 Desert & Delta camps we stayed at, we were greeted to a lovely warm welcome from the staff singing to us as we drove into camp.
We were met by the camp manager & went through the orientation & camp rules etc, then we were taken to our room. We were in lodge no. 7 & although we didn’t see what the other lodges were like inside, we were absolutely delighted with ours. It was totally perfect & everything you needed was there including shampoo, soap, repellent, tea, coffee & flasks full of water. The beds we have been in on this holiday have all been exceptionally warm & comfortable that’s for sure & this was just a great. A few days before we arrived we were told that there had been 6-8 lions that entered camp as they had been following a buffalo or something that was just outside of the perimeter. On hearing this you get why you cannot wander around in the dark without being escorted to dinner & also why you have a horn in your room in case of emergencies.
The excursions were fantastic & you just never knew what each one was going to bring. One morning we headed for a lions den where 2 lionesses had 8 cubs… we couldn’t believe it when 3 of those cubs came out of the den to play right beside our jeep making for some incredible footage. The cubs were only 6-8 weeks old. Another excursion on a boat brought a really heart stopping - but I have to say, also very exciting encounter. It was us & an American family with our guide watching a pod of hippos from a safe distance away when unexpectedly a sly little sod came from the side & rammed our boat. Our guide was brilliant & had the quickest reaction I’ve ever known, we were out of there in a split second. That is the one thing we really did learn on this our first ever safari, you have to trust your guides implicitly. Our last day was just as memorable; the same guide ‘Gwiest’ tracked a leopard & we were just yards from him & got the most incredible shots. 😍
On the last night we were taken to one side & surprised by a candlelit table for two which was so special, but then they came out with a cake & singing to my husband for his 40th year at his workplace. 🎂🥂🍾
The food was fabulous, the staff outstanding the camp & surroundings totally stunning… it was definitely our favourite out of the 5 places we stayed.
We saw almost everything you could wish to see except for a few animals such as hyenas - but what we were not prepared for was not seeing rhinos; apparently they had all been rounded up & taken to safety to protect them from poachers. As much as we were disappointed, we were just glad that they are safe & being protected.
Another thing I have to mention was the wonderful surprises the staff throw in for the guests… I won’t spoil it by divulging what they are, but they are more special memories that will truly last forever. 🥰
I really hope that one day we will get to go back because they helped to make our lifetimes dream even better than we could have imagined!
Just to mention; I also used part of this review to post on another camp that was equally as fantastic. I felt much the same about that one & the staff too & our animal experiences were quite similar with a few exceptions.

Thank you so much for the review and for the kind words. Your reviews attention to detail, addressing each and every aspect of your experience at Camp Moremi is highly appreciated, and wonderfully written. The Moremi Game Reserve is so well known for its prolific game viewing, and for good reason. While each day is a surprise on safari, the one certainty is that you will be blown away by the wonders of this historic reserve. Whether it is the landscapes, birds, insects, wildlife or all of these together - you are gong to experience the very best that nature has to offer. Thank you for pointing out the design of the rooms, something we are very proud of and feel is a standout point to the camp. Of the utmost importance when building the lodge, was to ensure our guests were immersing themselves in the environment around them, as it is such a unique area. We are very grateful for your review and rating. We look forward to welcoming you back in, hopefully, the not so distant future. All the best from the entire Desert & Delta Safaris Team.

Camp Moremi is a wonderful location for your safari. The location is a mix of tall trees, and sage filled meadows. When you first arrive, you are greeted by the staff with singing and a bit of dancing, as well as a warm wash cloth. The entire staff at Camp Moremi will greet you, and know your name. I really like the way that Desert and Delta organizes the safari. You are grouped with the same guide every day, and the same six guests. This enables everyone to get to know each other, and the guide to try to accommodate the interests of the guests. Moremi has both game drives, and water excursions. The variety of wildlife was amazing, and every game drive a joy. I especially want to mention our guide, Kam, who was amazing, incredibly knowledgeable, and made our visit memorable. I also, can’t forget Edwin, the bartender, who was delightful even when you just wanted to have a chat. Lastly, thanks to Oscar the hippo, for his morning wake up snorts.

The Okavango Delta is an extremely special place and Camp Moremi made it all the more special. Hands down we had the best game drives here (based on quality and quantity of animals we saw). Our guide, Baba, was exceptionally good. In addition to finding the more "typical" safari animals (elephants, giraffes, zebras, etc) he was able to find the lions, cubs and leopards almost every drive which was very exciting. He was a guide, driver and tracker all rolled into one and had tons of knowledge and experience.
The lodge felt like a “camp” like experience but in a good way. Meals are family style and usually presented as a buffet - with lots of choices. If you have dietary restrictions, they absolutely accommodate! The staff were kind, attentive and friendly. The food was amazing and the tents were spacious and lovely. Kenny the bartender gets a special mention just because he deserves it! The complimentary laundry service was also greatly appreciated.
We also thoroughly enjoyed the boat game drive which was a unique way to view the animals from the water.

Thank you to Osi, Baba, Carol, Linguist, Moss, Fifi, and others for the most wonderful time at Camp Moremi
Everyone at the camp made this trip memorable with their kindness and hospitality. They truly go above and beyond making sure you have everything you need.
The food was amazing and there was something for everyone. We really enjoyed the community of each meal. We also very much enjoyed the traditional Botswana dinner one evening.
We absolutely loved the game drives. We saw lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, elephants, monkeys, tons of birds, and more on nearly every game drive.
In our room there were usb plugs, type N plugs and type M plugs. They supplied shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, lotion, bug spray, a hair dryer, and a flashlight.
The camp does have Wi-Fi.

I had an unpleasant experience with this camp, based on a number of issues. One being an apparent racial bias that i observed in the treatment i received while there by some of the key staff. The guide kept informing me that I have to do what the white people do, or they will get angry and complain to management, if they do not get their way. I found this to be very offensive as a person of color as I have was a guest and have the same right as any, having paid my own fair share. Another example of this discrimination, was on one of the game drives, i was told to sit in the front seat with driver to allow for the white guests to sit in the elevated seats of their own choosing. Scheduled activities, changed to the preference of the white guests. I unfortunately lost my binoculus caps and pouch in the game drive car, but instead of the guide and management helping me to find them, they simply went away in a hurry with the car and to this day I have not received any feedback from them.
The food menu was very limited, far below my expectation. Safety was also a concern for me, as there were no escorts during the day, and I was placed in a camp at the edge of the property. Escorts are only provided at night, and in case of emergency (e.g animal attack) you can only sound a horn provided while at the room. But on the way to your room, you are all on your own during the day. And you are vulnerable to all animal attack except elephants. And given that this camp is very bushy, so better hope nothing dangerous is hiding behind the bushes on your way to your room.
Even at room with a horn, I remember i used it to call for an emergency, but the response to it by management was very poor, they came 30 minutes or so later. By which time, if the danger was realized, something bad would have happened to you. When I informed management, they simply brushed me off.
The game drives were underwhelming, as it was a struggle to see animals i hoped to see, i.e the big 5. Worse than a game drive in Chobe (Kasane). One of the reason also being lack of effectiveness in tracking animals.
I must say that some guests who were there did salvage the trip, as they were nice and were good company. Otherwise, it would have been an even more worse experience.

Dear Travel007K, We trust this message finds you well. Thank you for providing a candid review regarding your stay at Camp Moremi. All feedback is highly valued, and constructive criticism is taken seriously to improve the guest experience. Concerns were first brought to our attention in December through the travel agent, and an immediate internal investigation was conducted by lodge management. After concluding the investigation, detailed responses were communicated via the agent, addressing each concern, including a thorough search for the missing binocular cap, which was continued for several days. As no further correspondence was received since early in the year, it was understood that the matter had been resolved. Allegations of such a serious nature are always escalated to senior management and this incident was no exception. As a company that values empowerment, and with all team members at Camp Moremi being Batswana, the situation was considered highly unusual. Following an extensive investigation, no evidence was found to support the claims of unequal treatment, and it was believed that a misunderstanding or misinterpretation may have occurred. The entire camp management team and staff were, however, made aware of the report and reminded of our ethics as a company. Regarding concerns about safety at the camp, this feedback was take on board and implemented into the refresher training. Guest safety is a top priority, and like most safari lodges in Botswana, the camp has staff patrolling the premises who alert management if any potentially dangerous animals are spotted. When necessary, guests are escorted to their rooms. Additionally, escorts are always available on request. It is regrettable if this was not made clear during the arrival briefing, and further steps have been taken to ensure this information is consistently communicated. While every effort is made to provide exceptional wildlife sightings in the Moremi Game Reserve, nature can sometimes be unpredictable. This is what makes the area so unique, as wildlife roams freely. During quieter moments on game drives, the beauty of the natural surroundings and the unique sightings that do occur are still part of the experience that we hope all guests can appreciate. Thank you once again for the opportunity to respond to this feedback. The team remains available for any further questions or concerns. Best regards, The Desert & Delta Safaris Management Team

This lodge feels a bit worn and old. One of our rooms had a door that was super hard to open. The camp said they fix it, but it didn’t get fixed during our stay. The rooms are ok and are clean. The water pressure in the shower is super bad. But again, you are in the middle of Okavango Delta. One morning, no one had water at all. But that was fixed pretty fast. Food is ok, lunch was best. Pool is small but chills you down. Super nice bathroom by the pool. But you are here to go on safari and that is great! There is no wifi in the dining room, so if you have a kid or just a sick partner in the room, they can’t communicate with you while you are at dinner. And as no one is allowed to go out by themselves in the dark, that person is stuck in the room

We land on a dirt airstrip, picked-up by our guide and arrive at Camp Moremi late afternoon, on time for Tea, afternoon Safari and sundowner. What an amazing start to our first Safari Camp. On our return to camp we get ready for dinner in the garden and to our amazement, the entire staff treat us to song and dance to bring us to the table. This camp is in a beautiful location off the Okavango delta with great staff, really good food and you stay in Luxury Tents. Our Safari guide Gwist was very professional full of information and took us to all the best game locations. We were lucky to encounter some wild dogs, a herd of Cape Buffalo, Elephants, Lions, Giraffes, Zebras, Oscar the Hippo and more. The camp accommodations are exceptional and staff friendly and all very helpful. Our first Safari made memorable. Thank you all.

This was our first safari experience and I believe we really lucked out. We saw many animals we'd previously only seen on TV and experienced them at closer quarters than we thought possible. The highlight was to see two lionesses suckling eight small cubs. Besides that, we saw other lions, a leopard and many, many elephants, hippos, zebras, giraffes and buffalo. Our guide Baba was very experienced and knew exactly how to position the vehicle to get the best possible viewing position. He educated us tremendously on bird species and animal behavior. The rooms were very luxurious and comfortable. My wife who has mobility issues was extremely happy with the assistance of the lodge staff. Every member of staff was a delight to interact with and we'd definitely come back. The restaurant food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Moremi Game Lodge to anyone looking for a superior safari experience.

Camp Moremi is an unforgettable experience. From the moment you arrive to the moment you depart, you are family. The staff are gracious, kind, and fun hosts who go about and beyond with every detail of your stay each day. The meals are hearty yet healthy and you never stop eating! The Choir who sings before some of the meals are such a joy to hear (it’s all the staff - so many talents!!). My guide Baba is the best - kind, warm, funny, so knowledgeable and experienced, he makes you feel safe and tells the most incredible stories. I highly recommend staying here or at one of their sister camps in the Okavengo Delta - you will be blown away and never want to leave!!
