Stayed for one night. Booked a room, cost us £100 for one night as we were charged for a five bed room as that all they had. I think this is a DSS guest halfway house. The bar wasn't open. No sign of a restaurant. The breakfast was average. The room was freezing cold, even

Thank you for your comments. I am very sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay - at least the New Year's street party, they say, was the best ever! If you had phoned me directly to book, you would have had the room at the normal price for a double room. Online one cannot state all the variations. The bar is open on demand. I am a Metro Hotel when food is cooked when requested if possible. As the hotel is in the centre of Fishguard, there are a number of eateries nearby. And there was food in the Square - I don't think you went hungry. On New Year's night, when you stayed, I had the heating on all night. And there were extra blankets in the wardrobe. Yes, Toby can be a problem if you don't like dogs. Actually, I call him a therapy dog! How many guests have I had cuddling him! Last point - 'Dss halfway house' - do you know, I take anybody who behaves and pays (I also have to do as I was told by the insurers when I started). Was that meant as a deragotary comment? I do disagree. Actually, in the past I did have DSS -what fun it was - but then the Welsh Tourist Board didn't like it, and I did have to stop it. I have worked with people with learning difficulties and I know something about prisons, so if you wish to talk about it, phone me.

Thank you for your review! Yes, we are conveniently centrally located, close to all town services! We have space for 2-3 cars by the side of the Hotel but there is a public car park very close (£1.50 for 24 hours - and from 7 PM till 9 AM it is free). Fishguard is a small town and during the night there is hardly any traffic, especially as the ferry from Ireland nowadays arrives around 9 PM, so the front rooms are usually quiet as well.Well, they did not think of space for a lift when this house was built!

What can I say about the Cartref Hotel? But wow what a great place to stay right In the middle of the town 5 mins from the co-op and 10 mins from the Seafront and with a cheap public carpark just around the corner, it makes great place to use as a base to explore this non

Flying visit on a friday night. Warm welcome from owner who could not do enough to make me welcome. Comfortable and clean room and decent shower. I would stay there again. Probably after kayaking at Presseli Venture again later in the year.

Great hostess, lovely dog, room fine, altogether grand! I had a vintage car which needed to be parked and the owner made available to me an enclosed car park for which I was very grateful . I would have preferred a duvet instead of blankets but it wasn't a problem!

Yes, we are dog-friendly. There is a charge of £5-00 per night for a dog. Please do not book room number 4 as that is the only room where we do not take dogs!
