We have just returned from this fabulous hotel. We only had a one night stay here but oh how we wished we could have stayed longer.
The hotel has been tastefully refurbished and the room we stayed in was beautifully decorated, there was an enormous bed, stylish en-suite and those views from the room of the harbour were breathtaking.
The guys who run the hotel were fantastic hosts, nothing was too much trouble. We were struggling to book anywhere for our evening meal in barmouth ( please note that the hotel does not do meals on a Sunday evening ) but the manager was quick to phone around and sort a table for us about a 5 minutes drive towards Talybont.
We enjoyed a glass of wine in the garden later on that evening and again the quys were very attentive.
Breakfast was very good, cereals and little pastries to start then a full English breakfast, freshly cooked , piping hot and nicely presented.
If I was to be picky of anything, it would be the girl who took our breakfast order was a little miserable and abrupt but it was a busy breakfast service and didn't ruin our experience of the hotel.
Overall if you're thinking of booking here, don't hesitate it really is gem of a hotel and we can't wait to go back.

We stayed here after reading very good reviews online. As a couple just on a casual walking holiday, we decided on Barmouth. We could not fault the venue or the staff. The room was very pleasant, the atmosphere was excellent and the staff were exceptional. The breakfast was very tasty and served readily and fresh with good options. We were served alcoholic beverages from the bar at great prices. The staff were very welcoming and absolutely wonderful hosts. The views were stunning and the location is great being only 5 minutes walk from the high street. Definitely would come again.

We stayed here last weekend with our two children (12 & 10). We were far too early to check in, but we were given a warm welcome and offered to use the toilet and park the car etc without any trouble at all.

The hospitality from the staff was second to none, nothing at all was too much trouble. It is always lovely when the staff talk to the children and Toni made a effort with everybody to ensure they felt included.

The room was spacious and clean, we had a family room which was perfect. The bathroom was a good size, had a good shower, massive fluffy towels.

The hotel is over three floors and there isn't a lift. This wasn't a problem for us, but it is something to bear in mind. Also it's a steep walk up to the hotel again, no problem for us but it would be difficult for the less mobile. The walk to town was only 5/10 mins. Perfect location and beautiful elevated views.

The breakfast was literally one of the best we have ever had. A lovely fresh fruit salad (not tinned), yogurts, toast, cereal and a Welsh breakfast (or a variation of it) were all on offer. The Welsh breakfast is cooked to order, so piping hot and very good quality ingredients all served with a smile.

We enjoyed a few drinks in the spacious lounge area too, there were books, games and it was generally really relaxing.

I would highly recommend this hotel for a warm welcome and some beautiful food. Thank you.

booked to stay at this hotel for 3 nights over the bank holiday period and decided on a sea view room which was a great choice.the hotel is on the outskirts of the town and up a short steep hill not suited the less mobile and older folks.check in on arrival was quick and efficient and were given our key which was for room 12 which was up 2 long flight of stairs (there is no lift).the room was modern with everything you need(hair dryer tea and coffee facilities tv etc) there was plenty of room for clothing in the wardrobe and drawers. Our room also had a table and 2 chairs by the window so you could enjoy the beautiful view of the bay,the bathroom was clean and modern with toiletries provided and plenty of towels and hot water. The bed was big and comfortable with plenty of pillows, the room was cleaned daily.
Downstairs there is a breakfast room and a bar/lounge area which is also used for evening meals when the kitchen is open (closed sunday and monday when we were there).Outside there is a small area with tables to enjoy a drink whlie looking at the wonderful views.all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was made up of cereals, fresh fruit, croissants, yoghurts and fruit juices to help yourself too and a great variety of hot fresh cooked food from a full cooked breakfast to welsh rarebit if you wanted it.everything was hot and of a high standard .
We only ate an evening meal once during our stay due to the kitchen not being open there is only a small menu but the food you get is piping hot, well presented,a good quantity and great quality.the drinks from the bar are of a good standard with a focus on welsh producst and the cocktails a freshly made and very delicious.
we were here fro 3 nights and cannot recommend this hotel enough its well worth paying a little extra to go here and have a sea view room with the best views in barmouth if going to barmouth again will definitely return here.

Absolutely fabulous stay at this hotel for a birthday get away. It’s been fairly recently renovated and has a boutique style which compliments the original period features of the building! From the moment we stepped inside we all felt incredibly welcomed including the dog, the staff are so friendly and really go out of their way to make you feel at home and looked after. The views are stunning, plenty of parking and gardens and it’s such a short walk away into town (5 minutes). Breakfasts are amazing, highly recommend the full English they definitely use quality ingredients and it’s cooked well. My daughter had the pancakes and thought she’d gone to heaven …pudding for breakfast but there was fresh fruit on it too…they did look good! Whilst they will deviate from what’s on offer and cooked my other daughter poached eggs on toast! When we went to check out and pay they surprised us further by saying the drinks we’d had in the bar on my birthday were on them…great hosts, wonderful stay, highly recommend! Thank you x

The customer service at Bae Abermaw has been outstanding. Firstly, we turned up a day early! My mother thought she had booked Thurs to Mon when in fact it was Fri to Tues 😳 As you can imagine the hotel staff where a little surprise when 8 of us rocked up Thursday at 4pm to check in.

As you can imagine, you could have cut the tension with a knife after the realisation of our error, the fact we had just driven 4.5 hours to get there and the hotel was fully booked. However, the staff where very reassuring and worked quickly to figure out how they could accommodate us. They managed to squeeze us into 2 x room for the night and then on Friday we officially checked into our 3 x rooms ✔😃

Throughout our stay the staff where really attentive and helpful: They helped make dinner reservation for us for at a local restaurant and held back breakfast pastries/sausages for my husband and brother, who left each morning at 6am to go mountain biking and returned at 10.30am (when breakfast had ended).

We had dinner twice, followed by Sunday lunch at the hotel. The food was superb and was made with local fresh produce 😋

The hotel itself has been refurbished very tastefully and the rooms are very spacious and well kitted out I.e. coffee facilities, hair dryer, towels etc. The beds are very comfortable, including the sofa beds 🛌

Finally, the hotel has a real family feel and we where really made to feel at home. We don't have a dig but it's a pet friendly hotel however you woukd never have know I.e no pet odours or hair etc. We will certainly be visiting the hotel again in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting the area.

If you decide to visit, I would also recommend booking direct with the team on site rather than via a website like booking.com.

We decided on a last minute trip to Barmouth with our two young children for a one night stay. We found Bae Abermaw on booking.com and loved it but found it was cheaper to book direct through their website so did that instead. We booked a sea view family room and it was beautiful. So spacious even with a super king bed and sofa bed set up. They have the option to provide a travel cot but as our baby was so little we brought our own, just to be safe - this was absolutely fine with them.

Gary was very friendly and welcoming, he gave us all the information we needed and directed us to our room. We didn’t get chance to use it but there is a lounge area with a bar which looked lovely. Our nights stay was lovely, comfortable beds, beautiful bathroom and smart TV was perfect for our toddler so we could put bedtime stories on before sleep time. We didn’t hear any noise from other guests, and there was a room on either side of ours.

Breakfast the next morning was my favourite part. Beautifully decorated room with continental breakfast buffet and a menu on the table for the cooked breakfast. The service was excellent. With two young children the chance to dine out is very rare, so it felt like a real treat. I opted for the pancakes and they were delicious, the pastries were very nice too.

We checked out and will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you for such a lovely experience!

The hotel has recently changhed owners and has been refurbished. The new management team know what they are doing and we were made to feel very welcome. We had a very comfortable room with a modern en-suite. The hotal has a pleasant bar and we took our evening drinks into the garden where there is a lovely view of the bay. There was a reasonable selection of pastries for breakfast and after "The Full English" breakfast there was no need for lunch. The restuarant opens in the evenings (necessary to book) and the food is excellent. Overall this is a very pleasant place to stay and the staff were efficient and friendly. We would like to wish Ross and Eduardo ever success with their new venture.

Westward here for my brothers wedding in May, we were actually the hotels 1st guests after their refurb. We had a lovely welcome despite the fact that the staff were running around trying to put the final touches in place. The room was large with an amazing view, lovely shower room with an extra large bed.
We stayed for the weekend so we also ate at the hotel as family which was very nice, despite some small teething issues we had a lovely weekend and the wedding was absolutely perfect in every way. The views are absolutely stunning, however we did feel the rooms were a bit on the pricey side but if people are happy to pay it then they shouldn't be disappointed.
Thank you to all of the team for looking after our whole family and giving my brother and his lovely wife their magical day 🥰

We recently stayed for two nights at this B&B, paying nearly £300 and lured by promises of "a touch of luxury". Unfortunately, our experience was far from this and there were many niggles during our stay.

Firstly, the temperature in our room upon arrival was uncomfortably cold. When I asked reception  about  when the heating came on, I received vague responses. I later realised that this was because the central heating did not actually come on at all— even at the end of October!  All that was available was a small , portable electric heater in our room. Returning to a cold room each evening and waiting for the heater to warm things up for a few minutes, only for it to cool down almost immediately when switched off,  was not our idea of comfort or indeed "luxury". One night after coming back from dinner, we were caught in a heavy downpour  and got soaked through. There was absolutely nowhere to dry our clothes.  Waking up cold in the middle of the night just isn't acceptable.

Our bathroom was absolutely freezing too. No heating in there at all either. There was only a single glazed window and I absolutely dreaded showering because it was so cold!

Additionally, the room had a very strong air freshener scent upon arrival. Sadly, we soon discovered this was masking a lingering smell ( cat pee/ mould). This seemed to be emanating from the bathroom and seeping into the entire room.

Furthermore, our "sea view" was available only through one very small window—not at all what we expected when we upgraded to a sea view room.

Whilst the room was decently sized and the breakfast was lovely, unfortunately  the lack of heating  and smelly bathroom make us reluctant to return.
