We only ate here. No idea of the sleeping accomodations.
Well, it still exists, that cuisine of former days. After this, I am left speechless. Hardly ever tasted such profound depth of flavours.
But don't take me wrong, this is a no fuss restaurant where you can also sleep. The girl, in her jeans and Tshirt, that served us was charming, but hardly spoke anything but Portuguese. The table napkins are paper. The locals make much noise. The tele distracts you etc. But that food was ..... heaven? Tender, tasty, correctly flavoured. No need to add much herbs, let the produce speak for itself. All you meatlovers, come and taste what a real vealchop can taste like. Or have you ever savoured such crispy blackpudding? Winelist? Simply presented in a old plastic map. But that one that we luckily choose, was awesome. And then the price! No no, won't tell you, you would not believe. Superb experience, could eat this anytime.

we went for a 4 days trip to Geres, place i never had been before, the landscape exceeded all my expectations! but the reason i'm writing this review is not that! Is the meals we had, and Pensão Rio Homem really satisfied us all for that matter, as so that we just miss the sunday dinner because it is their rest day! from the taste of the food to the kind of the people who works there... every thing was awesome!

Me and my 5 friends came for an 4 day adventure weekend in geres NP. We had a wonderful time with beautiful days with outstanding landscapes.
What best than a rich and delicious meal after adventure sport?
In our first night we went to restaurant Rio Homem in Terras de Bouro. we ate a wonderful codfish and a delicious steak. Not speaking of the desserts. The second night we were too far and had a dinner somewhere else. The third night we came back and had a delicious codfish. Not speaking of the desserts. The forth night we came back and tried again the codfish. It was still delicious. Not speaking if the desserts.
The price...? What else? Try it.

The photographs do not represent all rooms. I got one in need of an urgent renovation. A room with little sound insulation, you hear a lot of noise coming from the restaurant, whether in the evening serving dinners, or in the morning when they start serving breakfasts. PA very weak. We only stayed one night but we won't come back.

My husband & I went here tonight for a meal. Granted it was a Mon night & we didn't expect a busy restaurant. We in fact were the only ones there, so you would think they would be pleased to see us?? Not the case, we were greeted with a can't be bothered attitude! The menu was in Portuguese, so we decided to go for the chefs special, easy option. The dish was practically in edible!!! We were SO disappointed as reviews were good. We have eaten in many areas of Portugal & this dish was by far the worst!

We came here on the first day of or trip in Gêres, it was so good that we came back two more times. We had the Bacalhau à Rio Homem, then Rojões, and after the deserts. I can tell you that I am Portuguese and this is the best of Portuguese cuisine. Thank you Isabel.
