My partner and I stayed for two nights as part of my 50th birthday. Accommodation lovely but if you class left over mackerel (which seems to be the main dish no matter breakfast or dinner), salmon or sausages from breakfast slopped on a plate as fine dining that’s fine. Also ice cream had ice in it so obviously defrosted several times. Such a shame as the waitress was lovely but definitely won’t be recommending to anyone. They said it was due to newly opening Mondays however if you can’t provide what you clearly promise DONT DO IT. There were some lovely places nearby we could have quite happily gone to if we’d have known (which we had seen and wanted to try). Bye bye and Won’t Be Back

Visited Hipping Hall with a voucher we got for Christmas. This is not a hotel, more a restaurant with rooms where food is the star of the show, and rightly so. We had the 4 course dinner with wine pairings chosen by Robert, the fantastic and knowledgeable sommelier. Every course was imaginative, stunningly presented and absolutely delicious. Food was seasonal and locally sourced where possible. The bed was comfortable and spacious, and the room was really well appointed with lovely tea, coffee and toiletries. Staff were friendly and attentive. The grounds are well kept and worth a stroll after dinner. Breakfast was also delicious! The bill was huge, but worth it!

The Hall is set in beautiful countryside and you can climb over the back wall and hike in fields of grazing sheep and lambs. We stayed in the main Hall and the cosy room was spaceous with old features, such as the bed which was a couple of old divans pushed together where one of us fell between two beds periodically. Housekeeping tried their very best to push the beds together. The staff couldn't do enough for us. I had a look at the modernized stable rooms, but would always choose the rooms in the main Hall if and indeed when we visit again. The stable rooms get the noise from the main road which has constant fast racing cars and motorbikes 24/7. The food experience is truly magnificent: 8 course dinner on the first night and 4 courses on the second if you are on the 'taster' package. Headchef Peter Howarth truly caters for everyone's wishes and dietary needs with an exquisite individual menu. I went into the kitchen to contratulate him on the first night after the 8-courser. The place is very expensive especially the wines. Though the Polish Head Somelier prides himself of his carefully selected wine list, most wines are ordinary and overpriced. So select your wines carefully. Reasons for my not giving it 5 stars include: the management appears to save on electricity. Heating and hot water did not come on until 7.30am. Apparently one had forgotten to put the timeclocks forward to summer time (this was May). The maintenance in the bathroom was poor.

We have been dining at Hipping Hall since it first opened: Sadly not as often as we used to due to Covid. We visited on Sunday with friends who had never been before - they were very impressed and will certainly return. As always, the food was excellent! Beautiful presentation. The service, again, as always was excellent - attentive, and helpful - nothing too much trouble. We are already looking forward to our next visit! Highly recommended!

Fabulous experience, the food was amazing. We had the 8 course taster menu & the scallop was 1 of the best things I’ve ever tasted! Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff. The room we stayed in was beautiful, massive bathroom. All in all a really enjoyable stay.
