Angela Hotel offers a lively atmosphere with live entertainment that many guests enjoy, although opinions on its style vary. The prime location is a highlight, with easy access to beaches and local amenities. While the staff's friendliness often receives compliments, there are remarks about service inconsistencies. Room experiences differ, with some finding them comfortably appointed, but others noting noise issues and a need for updates. Cleanliness is a strong suit; however, some travelers feel nickel-and-dimed by additional charges, questioning the hotel's overall value.

Langustines, mussels, sushi, great salads, tender roasts and CAVA for breakfast. A really wide choice and help for people with dietary needs. I agree that the bedrooms are a bit tired but the builders are at work and i heard no noise. The rooms was cleaned everyday, and the staff are friendly. An extra for me was that as well as sanitiser at the entrance to the restaurant they had placed a dispenser by the lifts a Good move. The indoor pool was lovely but when I went to change there was still a lot of water on the floor! I returned on Sunday and hope to go back later in the year. This was my first venture as a solo traveller, and I was a bit apprehensive, but I met some wonderful couples, and other solo travellers.

After reading all the reviews before we went I was filled with dread. Thankfully this was not the case. When we and 30 other passengers arrived the check in was very quick our room was not ready. For a hour or so we just chilled around the pool. Over looking the med sun shining down on us when we did get into our room 606 (this room is on the dark side no sun) very impressed enough hanging and drawers a lovely wet room
room was cleaned properly every day the towels where lovely big and fluffy powerful shower with 2 shower heads. Plus a 32" TV with all the channels .you could ask for. 3 lifts never had to wait more than 4, mins for a lift roughly I didn't put the stop watch on
Dinning room very big tables set out the best I've ever known no Been banged into by the person behind getting up & down .
The food brilliant 💯% breakfast everything you need plus more everything hot lovely lady who did the eggs fried boiled omelettes eggy bread plenty of sausage bacon black pudding etc loads of fruit salad different bread and cakes. Different juices
Evening meal
Loads of salad choice of soups
Main course at least 5 choices every day
Deserts lots of choice fresh fruit .
The bar/lounge was very big enough room for everyone. The acts we're Very good not all to by taste but let's not forget that everyone in the hospitality industry have had the most horrible 18 months. Plus the entertainment industry. The acts all were very grateful to be back at work.
The happy hour 🍸🍸🍸 was brilliant the staff worked brilliant to look after everyone. Well done everyone 👏👏 . Thank you Angel hotel it was a lovely stay hopefully see you again

I've visited Fuengirola multiple times over the last 15 years but this was my first time to stay in Angela Hotel. We were room only and didn't eat in the hotel at all so can't comment on the food. The room was really nice, very clean and decent storage for clothes. We were on the 8th floor with a really nice view of the pool and beach. WiFi was good in the room. One thing I found a bit odd was that you had to pay extra for the use of the fridge. The temperatures were 30+ every day so cold water was essential, it was only 10 euro but still its advertised as included. The air conditioning worked great for us. The pool was the highlight for me. Its an infinity pool that's cleaned every morning and looks out onto the beach. There was entertainment and happy hour in the hotel every night, we mostly went out though as I know the area well. The location is right on the seafront about 15-20 mins walk away from the main part of town. I would stay here again it was a very pleasant experience overall.

This is my second review of the Hotel an encompasses, in the main, festivities celebrating the New Year. Firstly with the food over our weeks stay, which for breakfast and dinner were on a buffet help yourself style. Breakfast choice was excellent, full English in all its various forms, together with a continental with many choices. Dinner however did have in my estimation its failings. The cold start counter was excellent and such was the choice that enough variations could be found for a full meal. It was the hot food where I found critisism, there was always an excellent choice but the carved meat, lamb, beef, pork together with poultry was served in a sauce. I would have prefered to select my meat in a carved state on its own, and add my own sauce rather than having to separate it in the first place.
The New Years Eve gourmet meal, in honour of the 12 Grapes (a Spanish Tradition) was served at tables by the Staff, with free wine. The whole evening, and the welcome to the New Year was celebrated in a wonderful atmsphere with both guests and Staff alike.
My comments in a previous review still stand. The fact that we revisited in less than a year must I think give a clear recomendation of a hotel that can be visited

This hotel is well maintained and well located to local bars and restaurants, the rooms have air con which is essential in this heat, the staff are a credit to their employer and nothing is too much trouble for them to ensure your stay is a happy one.

The "But" in this review is a big one if you are on a budget and have taste buds, choose how many past guest's have complained in posts on review sites about the food in this hotel, both TUI and the owners of the establishment have done nothing to address the bad reviews. To be more precise, the food is tasteless, always served luke warm or in many circumstances cold. We persevered 2 breakfasts and 3 evening meals and decided to eat out for the rest of our stay. TUI really need to get a grip of this when they sell a 4 star holiday package with 2 star food. Allow an extra €70 a day per couple when you stay at this hotel for restraunt bills.

Thank you for staying at Hotel Angela and for your feedback. We are very grateful for your kind comments about our staff and are very sorry to hear you found our food disappointing. We totally respect your opinion as not everybody has the same likes and expectations. We do get comments of guests saying they didn't like it but we also get comments saying they really enjoyed it and both opinions are valid. We will now pass on your remarks about this to our management as well as to our head chef an hope you give us another chance in the future if you return to the Costa del Sol. Kind regards

We returned from this hotel a few days ago after staying 4 nights. I was a little worried after reading some reviews but was pleasantly surprised.

Yes the hotel is mainly older retired people but it didn't bother us.

The hotels public areas were extremely comfortable and better than many 4 stars I have stayed in.

We didn't think the drinks were overpriced for a hotel if bought on happy hour, which last almost all day. The lounges were lovely with two different entertainments each evening. We don't usually like hotel entertainment, it's not really for us but the young male duo Jersey.... something, were very good and although we don't usually enjoy tribute acts the Elvis tribute act could actually sing, which makes a change for hotel entertainment. Entertainment is very subjective to someones personal taste but the hotel did a good job, they can't please everyone all of the time.

The room we had was not refurbished but it was very clean and the cleaning staff kept it clean, no complaints there. The fridge was free in our room as was the safe, the television had lots of English speaking channels. Bathroom was fine with a large walk in shower. Bed was a double, the new rooms have a tv on the wall, not sure if the beds are larger.

The room could get cold particularly the bathroom, we used the heater(air con unit) but it was turned off once you left the room. We had good weather for the time of year so I think it would be rather cold when the weather is bad.

The food was above adequate but not amazing, we were not expecting 5 star food. There was always something you could find to eat. A couple of fish dishes, a stew, a joint of meat, steak or lamb chops, a vegetarian dish etc. Jacket, boiled and mash potatoes, also chips. Gravy and several veg. Salad table, soups, fresh fruit lovely cheeses and biscuits, ice cream, cakes and yogurts plus a few more things. Breakfast was good, decent bread for toast and decent toast machines. Nice orange juice. Sometimes the food could have been warmer, there is a microwave.

We found the staff were very friendly and helpful.

My only complaint was that TUI did not inform us the exterior of the hotel was disrupted by the refurbishment. We were adjacent to rooms being refurbished all around us, it did disrupt the outside sun bathing area but not further up nearer the pool. This is not the fault of the hotel.

Would we go back, yes if the price was right. We were visiting family and this hotel is quite near the train station and buses, so great for public transport.

Better than we expected

We have returned home today after a 10 day holiday at the hotel Angela. We have been going to this hotel in January for the last 8 years, we travel with Easyjet and I book directly with the hotel.

I must admit the food this time left a lot to be desired I will list my dislikes:

Hard baked beans
Sausages like sawdust
Paella no taste don’t think any saffron in it
All food very bland
Potatoes think they came out of a tin very uniform and always hard
Soups mostly taste the same no matter what they are

I think this has to improve to keep your reputation and clientele

I take no pleasure writing this review as we like the hotel and as previously stated stayed on many occasions.

I really hope you will note my concerns and things will change

Just returned from the angela. Great hotel, 4 star (Spain standards) is accurate and brilliant location.
I was a bit worried before I went after reading some comments about the food, size of room, sun lounger availability and staff. None of these negative reviews were true in my opinion.
The staff are extremely friendly, hard working and will go out of their way to help.
The food at the buffet at breakfast and dinner was of good quality, varied and plentiful.
If you want the fridge in your room it's 10 euros a week, bargain to have cold water.
The room size is standard, shower is powerful and room cleaned daily although I felt it wasn't needed so asked it not be cleaned 3 times during the week, how hard is it to pull the bed covers over and hang up your towel? The cleaning staff seemed grateful yet surprised at my request.
The pool area has plenty loungers and I always found many available at any time during the day. Snack bar had good selection of food too if you were hungry during the day but after such a huge breakfast, I didn't eat during day and ready fir dinner at 6.30. Dinner was 6.30 to 10.30. Breakfast 7.30 to 10.30.

A holiday is what you make of it, no major complaints from me.

Few small details are that the toilet paper is very cheap and crumbles, when going back I'd take my own.
It would be good if the hotel put up signs on the floors requestung miminal noise after 11pm, some of the guests were extremely loud returning to their rooms and woke me up on several occasions. Additionally if the room next to you has TV on its difficult to sleep as thin walls.

Overall this hotel seemed to attract the older generation and so the entertainment reflects that which is absolutely fine and a good ambience.

There is hitel work going on so the pool area can be noisy but no complaint as has to be done.

I will return.

4 of us booked last minute for a new year break to the hotel Sun 29th December until Sunday 5th January. We are very pleased we did. I read reviews about the hotel after the booking and was a little concerned by some of the comments!! However I need not have worried.
The hotel is a little tired in places but as with anything you just need to make the most of a holiday and we did. Firstly the room it was tired in places but wow did we all sleep well. The room was clean and the maid kept up a great job throughout our stay. A true credit to her employers.
Reception staff were also very friendly and helpful answering all our questions.
Happy hour in the bar every night was a bonus. The staff worked so hard to ensure everybody enjoyed the experience. Sadly you will always get people who moan (usually the older generation!!) but I am really not sure what they wanted but seriously nothing more could be there for them.
Now to the food our deal included the gala evening on NYE was very good value a 6 course meal with the food acceptable with free wine throughout the evening. We were on a table with 6 people who we did not know but we had such a good evening with them. It was a great way to see in the new year.
The food on the other days was mixed breakfast was always excellent a good choice. Full English if you wanted but then a good selection of fruit, yoghurt, pastries, the usual cold meats and cheese. DIY toast, always amusing that you need to put the bread through 2/3 times!!
Evening meals were a bit of a mixed bag but to be honest we always found something to eat and be happy with. Given what we paid for the week we had no room to complain.
All in all a great week away. The staff are a true credit to a very hard industry and this hotel. We would all return to this hotel without hesitation. Thank you.
