Detailed Reviews
I thought it was good. The rooms are new and clean and representive of the Web site photos. The bathroom looked brand new, good rain shower and hand held shower attachment. Some shower toiletries were provided.
Noise wise, there was none really. We were on the top floor room 14 street facing. There is some low level street noise but the double glazed windows.are brand new so noise never bothered us. It was also a Sunday so our closed at 11pm prompt with everyone out. Weekdays pub closes at 11:30pm, Friday and Saturday is 00:30am.
Check in was at the pub bar, it wasn't obvious so we had to ask and got directed to the bar. Check in then took 2-3 minutes from a very helpful staff member who explained the basics and offered us a key card each.
Hotel and room entry is via bar during day or key card secured entrance to rhe side of the hotel when the pub is closed. All rooms are electric key card entry.
Clean sheets, comfy beds, clean towels, very clean bathroom (shower, basin, toilet).
Free Wi-Fi easy to connect and around 70Mbps download, 20Mbps upload.
Tea n coffee making facilities (only 2 cups in a triple room but sure thry would provide more if requested)in the room, no fridge. Don't think there was air-conditioning in our room at least but it wasn't uncomfortable in July.
Parking behind the buildings on the opposite side of the street to the hotel was 8 euro for 24 hours from time of payment, either by coins in machine or sign up to a parking app.
We'd stay here again, was good value for myself and two teenage girls, clean, not noisy, had everything we needed for the night.

Stayed here on business early November 2022. The bar is really pleasant and the rooms are perfectly nice. My only slight gripe is the breakfast option. This could be booked for a reasonable €7, but when we came down for breakfast at 0730 the hotel/bar was empty!!! A random chap was sat doing stuff on his laptop and said that they didn't serve breakfast until 10am at the earliest!! This information might have been useful the night before! Luckily there was a handy McDonald's about 50m away. So in summary a nice place but check the Ts&Cs with the staff when you arrive!!

Lovely clean rooms, easy check-in /out, really excellent bar/waiter service - top level. My only issue is rooms not sound proof in ANY way. Can hear everything from other rooms, from conversation to tvs to snoring etc plus housekeeping starts very early even though check-in not til 3 pm so was woken by them knocking on all doors aswell as all night at regular intervals

I am the owner of a tour company and I bring my groups to Ireland on a regular basis. On arrival in Dublin I always book my groups into the 44 on Main St because I and my groups have always been very well looked after. It is a nice, small comfortable hotel with great food and amazing staff. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff go out of their way to help my guests and they will go above and beyond to make sure that the guests are happy. The manager is very helpful and would do his best to make sure everything is right for everybody. I always recommend this hotel to clients who want to visit Ireland even if they are not on a tour with us, but if I am creating an itinerary for them, I make sure the experience this hotel. We stayed one night at No 44 room 11 and room 6 and it was disappointing to say the least. While we were not expecting luxury, we had hoped for a comfortable and clean room however, this was not the case. Pulling back the bed covers on one bed there were black hard specs on the bottom sheet... the sink and toilet were not clean and the bin had not been emptied. The lamps had twin pin plugs with no adaptors so could not be used. The beds were soft and unsupportive. Had a very brief handing over of the key on arrival, did not see anyone on departure at 9.30 am. Would suggest that a little more attention be given to improve standards.

Booked here as we had a red eye and wanted to be near the airport. We were very pleased with this gem. We had a room at the back so was very quiet apart from the chorus of birdsong when the patio door was open. Beds were comfy room was clean and comfortable. Bryan went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. We had a big Irish breakfast upon arrival in the pub. That night we went back down to the pub for dinner and walked into a typical pub party complete with kitchen band and lots of families out at the local for a Saturday night of fun with friends. Oh and the fish and chips were great too! The only surprise was that the kitchen doesn’t open for breakfast until 10:00 and there is no one around to check you out before then as well. I would stay again for sure.

The room we had was clean but lacking many basics. No bed side table or tables of any sort, no phone, no chairs in the room, wi-fi that didn't work, no shelf in the shower, no lid on the toilet...the list goes on. We booked this hotel because it has a pub and we wanted to watch the big rugby game. We were told we couldn't reserve a table and 2 hours before the game all tables were occupied. Backup plan was to have dinner in our room. We tried ordering at 7:30 but at 8:15 were told the kitchen couldn't guarantee it would be possible by the time staff knocked off for the night. We ended walking down the street for a take away pizza.
There was no opportunity to get a coffee from the kitchen in the morning.
I should also mention the staff we dealt with were pleasant.

Worst possible place to stay. The pub is directly under the room and part is outside the room. The noise level is beyond belief. I specifically asked for a quiet room. The staff could not care less. Their only answer is the manager is not around.

I arrived exhausted at approx 1.30pm and a very forceful staff member told me that although the email confirmation of my booking stated that check-in was from noon, I couldn't actually check-in until 3pm.
I left, forfeiting my payment and found another hotel.
On my previous visit, I also had issues when trying to check-in. I asked a question and was told "I'm just a waitress, I don't know".

I stayed one night at the Forty Four and had a few drinks and a good dinner in their pub. The music was excellent.
I would have rated them excellent but I was double billed (for the same amount) on my credit card. I have e-mailed them multiple times asking them to correct their error. They have not responded so I filed a complaint with my credit card.
