The Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport is often commended for its professional service and praised for its cleanliness, with spotless rooms and well-kept public areas. While the rooms are typically described as clean and spacious, some guests have mentioned dated decor and occasional noise. The hotel's location is appreciated for its proximity to the airport and the complimentary shuttle service, although it's not close to other local amenities. Opinions on value vary, with some guests finding the room size and location to be worth the cost, while others are less impressed with the parking fees and dining options.

I stay here frequently so felt it's about time to give my first feedback. Your stay gets off to a good or bad start depending on who checks you in. It's a hotel where they seem to treat returning guests/good customers worse than others! The staff rarely listen - ask for a quiet room and they'll give you one with an adjoining door where you can hear everything. Depending on which lazy receptionist you get, you'll get a different answer if you kindly ask them to book you in for the 3-course dinner on your reservation. Some will gladly book your time slot, while others say 'walk in only' or 'go down there and book in with them' when you're stood there with luggage and just needing to get to your room. Highly discourteous. The rooms are very clean and comfortable but need updating to allow one to 'cast' from phone etc to TV would help as many other hotels now have this. The prices are, at times, exorbitant - €242 on this occasion for one night with no breakfast, and €363 when you add dinner and a week's parking. The recent increase in parking rates is just greedy and annoying for guests who give a lot of business. If you're going to put everything up then I'll be expecting far better from your reception staff in particular! A warm 'welcome back Dr' might be nice (I'm sure they can see on the monitor that one has stayed many times before). Overall, an increasingly expensive, yet mid-range hotel. However, the food at breakfast, and at The Italian Kitchen, is excellent.

Dear Tobin, Thank you for choosing to stay at the Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport and we thank you for taking the time to write a review. We regret to hear you did not have the best stay with us, we aspire to deliver the highest standard of service and we apologise that our usual standards were not met on this occasion. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I will be passing all your feedback on to our reception manager, to make sure this doesn't happen again. At the Clayton hotel, our carpark is manned by trained staff, and has surveillance cameras watching over it 24 hours a day. It is a securely gated carpark, conveniently located next to the airport, and is therefore, extremely busy. Unfortunately, this is a service that we need to charge for, but we do work diligently to keep our prices fair, and in line with our competitors. We hope this once off experience does not deter you from staying with us again sometime in the future wherein you will receive a warm Clayton Hotel welcome. Kind Regards, Mairead Guest Relations

We stayed for 2 nights and had 2 rooms, we had rooms opersite each other which was great. The hotel is lovely and a shuttle bus will take you from airport to hotel which we used. We stayed here due to having an early flight on Sunday, but it does add to the cost if you get ubers into Dublin City. The rooms are very clean, and you have tea, coffee, a bottle of water each, biscuits, hairdryer, iron, and ironing board. Toiletries are supplied, too. We did put the sign on the door to refresh the room, but only the bed was made, and the towels replaced but used mugs, and no tea or coffee was refreshed, which we thought would be. We had a drink in the bar area and we found the staff very pleasant. We didn't eat in the hotel, so I can't comment. We enjoyed our stay, but due to the location out of the city, we would probably choose a hotel in the city.

I ended up in this hotel when Aer Lingus cancelled all flights due to a storm. By the time I reached the hotel I was feeling very stressed as the customer service at Aer Lingus was appalling. The one good thing they did was send me to this hotel! Despite being landed with hundreds of tired passengers at short notice, they dealt with this very well. I was checked in quickly and was so relieved to arrive in a spacious, spotless and comfortable room. I was given a family room and although on this trip I was on my own, I would not hesitate to return with my family. There were three proper beds, not sofa beds as often happens in family rooms. Travelling with only hand luggage I was pleased to find everything I needed in the room - there was a tea tray in a drawer (kettle, tea, coffee, water, biscuits etc), hairdryer, iron etc. A lovely hot shower and very comfortable bed, helped me feel better and enjoy a good night's sleep.
The food was mixed but as it had to be prepared with short notice that was fair enough. We were given vouchers for the main dining area, it reminded me of school dinners! A plain chicken breast and cold pasta wasn't the best lunch, but the curry for dinner was delicious and the breakfast had everything you could have wanted. Communication around meal times could have been better, there were no signs up so I had to ask each time at reception.
Unfortunately they told me I had to be out of my room by 11am, even though my replacement flight wasn't until the following night. However they kindly allowed us to wait in the foyer, lounge or bar area. There is a small snack bar there too to get a coffee.
The location is not very close to the airport and next to busy roads so not walkable, but the shuttle bus was excellent. I had previously not chosen this hotel due to needing a bus to get there, but now I've experienced how well this works I would not hesitate to stay there again. Thank you for looking after tired stressed travellers in a very difficult situation.

We arrived back to Dublin airport from a holiday early hours of the morning and unfortunately had to have our car towed from the airport car park due to a failed clutch. We were extremely exhausted as precious to this we nearly missed our flight due to our transfer company not arriving. We didn’t have many options on getting home, almost 2 hours away, but I contacted the Clayton (the only hotel to answer our desperate call at early hours) and was greeted by the kindest gentleman , unfortunately I didn’t catch his name however I just wanted to make this review for him. In a moment where we were stressed and exhausted even his reassurance of a room made a difference. On arrival we were greeted by the same gentleman and his kindness made such a difference for me and my partner - if I could have climbed over the counter and gave him a hug I would have as all we needed was some positivity from a horrific few hours. Thank you so much to this gentleman, you were only doing your job but your positive attitude has gone a long way, even at 3am! We had a suite , the beds were comfy, the room and bathroom was spotless equipped with towels, shower gel, hairdryer etc. Big TV, safe also in the room and space for storage. No noise disturbance from outside or other rooms. Great choice for tea/coffee which was very much needed at this point. Lovely staff in the morning during checkout and good food / coffee choices before we left - again for unexpected stays this hotel has all you need. There is also a free shuttle bus from the airport - another bonus.

The rooms were fine (more below). My complaint is about the airport shuttle. The website states that they leave every 20-25 minutes, but what it does NOT state is that the buses do not actually leave until they are overfilled to the point people are crammed in and standing during the 10 minute ride to the airport. The hotel had an idle bus parked beside the bus stop, but rather than running that bus more frequently so hotel guests could actually sit on the ride to the airport, only 1 bus was running, and it did not leave until every seat was full and 5 people were forced to stand. The drive includes a short distance on the highway (safety), and since people have planes to catch, this cost-saving for the hotel is at the expense of guest safety and time. During a COVID wave, it is especially unacceptable to deliberately pack sick, coughing people in a crowded bus.

The rooms themselves were fine. They were clean. The beds did not have top sheets (just the bottom sheet and the comforter) but this seems typical for hotels that don’t focus on catering to Americans.

We would not stay here again unless we had no other options— because of the airport shuttle.

The Clayton is comfortable, has friendly receptionists, two reasonable restaurants, free airport shuttle and wifi. Dublin is expensive generally, but this hotel is overpriced for what they do (or don't). The location is on a busy road with nowhere to walk due to lack of sidewalks.

We needed to stay overnight when our flight got cancelled. At €249 per night, breakfast extra, it was slightly cheaper than the alternative!

Check-in was no problem - we had to wait an hour for the room, as it was morning - and the room was spacious and comfortable. A receptionist didn't know where I could buy a phone cable*, but offered to charge my phone in their office. We requested toothbrushes and toothpaste, and were assured (twice!) that they would be brought to the room, which never happened. We were surprised to look outside and see a *convenience store/truck stop right next door where we not only bought the things we needed, but got lunch from the excellent salad counter.

It’s not the first time I’ve stayed here and I must say I do find it very convenient for early morning flights. For that reason I have not used all the facilities and can only speak to the room and the evening restaurant.
My first visit in November 23.
The room was superb. Couldn’t fault the cleanliness or the Comfort. We did have dinner that evening in the bar before we went to bed and that was a little disappointing.
I ordered a chicken burger with fries, my partner a focaccia sandwich. Unfortunately the fries were so overcooked I didn’t really eat many of them. The chef had to know that he was sending out bad food so why did he do it? My partner complained about her sandwich because there was very little meat on it. And a complete win for the hotel, they did remove it from the bill.
My next visit on February 24. I have to say the food was excellent. The only let down, ironically fries again, I ordered Asian fries for a starter and they were fantastic. Unfortunately, they were also tepid and then served in a cold dish. Who serves hot food on a cold plate? The result was by the time I got towards the end of them they were cold. I ordered chicken supreme for a main and it was super. The chicken was succulent and the veg al dente.
The big letdown of this stay was the room. We were in 429. When we arrived, we could smell food in the room but not so much that we were prepared to complain about it. However, after retiring to our room at 8 o’clock as we had an early flight, the smell of food got worse. So much so that the smell of garlic was so strong, we had to open the window. Needless to say it got to a point where I had to phone Reception and they changed our room without question. That in itself is a red flag as if this was not something they had before they would’ve wanted to investigate the issue, but they didn’t. Why rent the room in the first place if they know people are going to complain about the food odour?
i found the staff friendly and the hotel was clean and pleasant.

I must say, our dining experience at the Clayton Dublin Airport Hotel was nothing short of exceptional, and it was all thanks to the amazing waitress named Victoria. From the moment we stepped foot into the restaurant, her attentiveness and warm smile made us feel right at home.

Victoria went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of our dining experience was perfect. She expertly guided us through the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations and catering to our specific preferences. Her knowledge of the dishes and their ingredients was impressive, and it helped us make delightful choices.

Throughout the meal, Victoria was always there when we needed her, yet she never intruded on our conversations. She seemed to anticipate our needs before we even had to ask, and her seamless service truly elevated the entire dining experience.

What truly stood out was her genuine passion for her job. It was evident that she took pride in ensuring every guest felt welcomed and cared for. Her radiant personality added a special touch to the meal, making us feel like we were more than just customers - she made us feel like valued guests.

Victoria's attention to detail was impeccable. Our drinks were always topped up, and our plates cleared at just the right moments. She made sure that we had everything we needed, creating an atmosphere of relaxation and enjoyment.

In the hospitality industry, it's the little things that can make a big difference. Victoria's thoughtfulness and personalized approach left a lasting impression on us, making this dining experience truly unforgettable.

We left the Clayton Dublin Airport Hotel with full bellies and even fuller hearts, all thanks to Victoria's outstanding service. Her dedication and genuine care for her guests are commendable, and she is undoubtedly an asset to the hotel's team.

If you find yourself at the Clayton Dublin Airport Hotel, be sure to ask for Victoria - she will make your dining experience not only exceptional but also one you will cherish for a long time. Thank you, Victoria, for making our evening truly special!

We stayed in the Clayton airport hotel for 1 night as we had an early morning flight from Dublin the following morning. I must say, for the £173 paid for one night, I wasn’t very impressed. The divan the mattress was on was stained, the ceramic paint on the sink was cracking off around the drain and there were mystery blobs on various surfaces around the bathroom. The bar was either understaffed or didn’t have enough trained staff working as it must’ve took 20 minutes to get a cocktail, and I paid almost €10 for a glass of Prosecco which was just poured out of a bottle (I would have at least expected my own small single serve bottle for that price). I really felt like we got completely ripped off at this hotel, but I can’t speak for what other hotels are like in the area which is why I’ve given it 3 stars. One thing I really liked about this hotel was I was able to check in and get my key all without having to interact with a person, and I was able to do the same on the way out. However, next time I will be trying another airport hotel should I need to stay the night near Dublin airport.

Hello- The easiest way would be by taxi - but this might cost 10-15 euros. Alternatively you could take the 41C Swords Manor bus from Drumcondra Railroad Station to the Collinstown Park stop (Stop 1628).
