Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Travelodge Dublin Airport Swords delights guests with its large, airy rooms and commendable cleanliness, but some visitors express concerns over the hotel's dated common areas. While the proximity to the airport wins points for convenience, opinions on value are mixed due to additional costs and varying perceptions of the amenities' quality. The service receives both accolades and criticism, with experiences ranging from warm and efficient to occasional lapses in professionalism. Room comfort seems inconsistent, as some praise their accommodations while others note neglect and noise issues.

My rating mainly comes from the hotel's location which is just a 5 minute drive from Dublin Airport. It is therefore really very convenient if you have to take a very early flight in the morning (as in my case). For the rest it is not particularly welcoming. The room had a terrible musty smell, but I have to say it was very clean, including the bathroom. If you have to stay in Swords for tourism I recommend looking for something more welcoming also because it is certainly not cheap.

This hotel is good place to stay prior to flying out the next day. It is only a 30 Euro taxi ride from the airport, which takes about 10 to 15 minutes. The only thing that I would caution people about is that there is no breakfast at the hotel and nothing within walking distance.

Awful hotel
When i came in to hotel and paid for my room. The night time staff were not helpful or kind. They didn't tell us to enjoy our stay. There is also no lift in this hotel.

They gave us a key for room 214 and when we went in there. The room was being used by another guest. Luckily another staff member past by and we told him about it.
He apologised and changed our room to 220. Room was OK, window was left open. Basic facilities.

We had to ask for more milk for tea and tea bags.

Breakfast was an extra cost and had a limited menu.

The Travelodge in Swords was a simple, comfortable and reliable space for us to land for our last two days in the country. Very welcoming and helpful staff, clean and quiet room, and the beds were comfortable. We had been hopping between private B&Bs and small hotels throughout our trip with a range of comfort and accuracy between the booking info and the reality of the rooms we ended up with. Travelodge was dependable, we got exactly what we booked and it was affordable and well-maintained.

The property was clean both inside the rooms and outside of the building. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the beds were comfortable. They have a restaurant on site that served good food at reasonable prices and a patio for outdoor dining. They appeared to be fixing or doing upkeep in some of the hotel rooms on our floor so there was a bit of a strong chemical smell in the hallway, but it didn't enter the room we were in only noticeable in the hallway so it wasn't a big deal. The only thing the property may benefit from would be an elevator for guests whose room isn't on the ground level and may have a lot of heavy luggage to get up the flights of stairs.

Had to stay here at the last minute for trip out of Dublin and needed to be near the airport. The location is good for proximity to the airport and Swords village. However, the property really needs to do some renovations. It’s a very run down property. The carpets inside are old and dirty. The rooms could use updating to make them more inviting. It’s like staying in a hotel from the 1970’s with an actual room key to open a heavy medal door. There are no basic amenities in the rooms like wash cloths, bath mats, travel shampoo and hair conditioner. The TV is about the size of a 15” laptop. There were men hanging out in alcoves below the stairs (no elevators). I felt unsafe and uncomfortable. I saw mostly men at this hotel, very few families or women. Breakfast is not included in the room price. There are much better places to stay nearby.

The location was good as it was close to the airport but I had my own car which made it easy to travel there. Given the queue for taxis at the airport at 1am I would not like to have been relying on them. The room was clean and comfortable. You can hear noise when people move around but our neighbours were not noisy so it was only in the morning when people were leaving their rooms. Given how late we arrived it would have been nice to sleep longer though. I would advise to eat breakfast elsewhere it is slow as its table service with only 2 serving staff and it's overpriced. €10 for a full breakfast that doesn't include pudding and its an extra €2 for each coffee or juice.

If your looking fir a cheap place for a night you might try here but understand it is very, very outdated. Rooms are basically just a room with a bed and tv. Hallways are well worn as is the entire hotel. There is no elevator so you'll need to carry your own bags up if on floor 2. If you're trying to save money by staying here, keep in mind that a taxi to airport is around €20 and breakfast is not included. The only upside is that it us walking distance to Swords but a bus ride from any of the hotels around us only about €2. Next time I won't be staying here

It is very near to the airport and it makes a good location if you have an early flight out or you land in the late evening or at night. Although it is on the cheaper side (compared to hotels nearby), I still think it is overpriced for what you get. It is more like a motel, not a hotel.
