I had the most wonderful time staying at this bed and breakfast! The host (Elaine) was incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The room was cozy and beautifully decorated, and the breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious. The host went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable, offering great recommendations for local activities and even helping me arrange transportation. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone looking for a charming and personalized experience. Thank you for a fantastic stay!

Hi, I travel once a week to Dublin Airport for work , down from Northern Ireland.
Mostly I try to return home the same day, but every now and then I work late and stay overnight. Recently I stayed over in Seamount House BNB in Swords , Co Dublin.
The proprietor, Elaine, was very friendly and accommodating and provided great information re local pubs and restaurants. The room was very clean and comfortable. The BNB is located in a nice quiet cul de sac and this was particularly satisfying as I needed a good sleep. The cost is also very reasonable . I believe this BNB is really good value , and I would certainly stay here again . Highly recommended .

Elaine was very warm and I had a great time with my family during my visit to Ireland. Even the location is not in downtown, but I could get Swords Express Bus in just 15 minutes walking, and it brought me to the city.

Arrived at Seamount bed and breakfast at the time arranged with Elaine to be greeted by elaine and the smell of dog only for her to tell me my room wasn't quiet ready so had to wait for it to be finished apparently the cleaner hadn't turned up on the day I was due to arrive.
Wasn't impressed that had to pay upfront even though Elaine hadn't actually told me this at the time of booking Elaine had stated she wasn't doing breakfast due to the pandemic but on reading other reviews she had done breakfast for a couple a few months prior in the height of the pandemic.
Elaine left me a note in my room telling me off cause I hadn't closed the window as if I was a child. My room wasn't cleaned all week I certainly wouldn't return to this bed and breakfast my bathroom had damp and the whole place is dirty and run down. Elaine also told me her cleaner would be coming at 11am on the day I was checking out so I would have to check out earlier when she new my flight wasn't intil after 4pm !
The whole place could do with a good deep clean my room was thick with dust and previous people hair all over had I not already paid upfront I wouldn't have stayed but obviously due to already paying I knew I wouldn't get my money back from Elaine all I can say is AVOID at all costs look elsewhere cause I'm sure you can find somewhere a whole lot cleaner and more pleasantly smelling

Mandy We are naturally very disappointed with this review , but believe it is somewhat unjustified ,and hope we can address each item raised in a reasonable manner. 1 . Early arrival Our recollection is that you arrived at approx 10.30 AM - which is very early indeed. We obviously needed time to prepare the room and we believe that it was not unreasonable to ask you to wait a few minutes while we completed the necessary make over. 2. Payment upon arrival This is easy . Payment upon arrival is declared on our website and always communicated to our guests in advance of arrival. This would have been clear from the start. 3. Breakfast We decided during the pandemic to change to "accommodation only". This was reflected in the pricing for the stay - and no doubt you would have demanded a cost reduction if you were not already well aware of that apparent fact ! 4. Closing of the window. We expect that this is the driving force and key motivation for the negative review. The note requesting that you "please remember to close the window" only arose after several earlier verbal attempts to ensure that the window was closed , once you were leaving the house. The room is located immediately above the porch at the front of the house and therefore a potential entry point for any would be burglar. With this in mind , we have a duty of care to the occupant of the room , but also to all other occupants of the house. We apologise if this demand caused undue offence , but again , we really do have a duty of care that needed to be restated. 5. Deep Clean This is particularly unexpected and we believe especially unjustified. Cleanliness is probably the single main selling point for Seamount House , and this has been acknowledged by many guests in the past. Where a guest goes to the point of removing furniture from a fixed position to photograph behind same , seems like a hugely unreasonable approach . Words actually fail us ! 6. Dog Impact We do indeed have a dog and Mandy mentioned during one of the many long and friendly chats during her stay , that she too loves dogs. Not just our dog apparently. Summary It does seem that Mandy really did not take well to the request to "please close the window if leaving the room". However - as advised above , there is a simple duty of care , and there is a reasonable amount of times one can verbally advise anyone of the importance of an action . We do apologise if the note caused undue angst , but we did have to re-enforce the need for the window closing. Overall , we have no doubt that the vast majority of guests , many of whom return on a regular basis , believe that Seamount House is exceptional value , that the guests are treated with great care and friendliness and that the rooms are spotlessly clean. Best Regards Elaine Proprietor

This is the second place I have stayed in Ireland and I didn’t enjoy it. Elaine, the owner is friendly yes, but that’s because she is so greedy for money. She reminds me of uncle Scrooge and his eyes with the two circling dollars. She asks for money upfront, cash preferably, so no taxes to pay I guess. There was hair all over in the sheets and under the pillows. The shower is from the 60’s with no water pressure, barely dripping and it is so noisy that it could be heard in Northern Ireland. The house stairs are old and squeaky - it makes you feel guilty if you arrive at late pm because everyone in the house can hear you.

There is a nicely set up table in the common area which cannot be used, because there is no sink to wash food, there is no cooker, nothing. One tiny, old, yellow, dirty microwave and a small “fridge”. Old, dirty, yellow inside too. The shops are also far far away. I assume she just doesn’t want to have expenses, just profits, that’s why there’s no sink and no cooker for guests. She just wants the money, but she doesn’t provide enough. It’s not clean, it’s not comfortable, the owner is greedy, can’t recommend.

Hi disappointed from Detroit It is a little bit personal when you refer to people as greedy , and then a little bit cowardly when you do not leave your name. But best to just deal with the facts re your stay and disappointment re same : 1. This is a B&B , not a self catering hotel or aparthotel. A kitchen is not promised with a B&B . The fact that we provide access to a micro wave , a toasted , Delph and cutlery and a sofa and table and a spare room for guests to treat themselves if they want to prepare something themselves is considered a bonus by most reasonable minded guests . 2. We deal in cash as we are a small business and hardly justify going to credit cards etc. Needles to state all our earnings and guest attendance is recorded and shared with the Ireland Revenue , 3. Our prices are extremely competitive , especially for our location. You would have known the pricing and the terms ahead of any stay , as it is all detailed on our website. It would seem that perhaps you were demanding 5 star accommodation but only prepared to pay for a small family run B&B pricing. This seems extremely unreasonable and disingenuous. 4 . You refer to a few issues with the bedroom linen etc , but raising an issue months after your stay is just totally out of order. Whether it is a one night , a B&B or a hotel , any issue should be raised at the time of the stay. Needles to say , we completely reject this last point , as the house is cleaned from top to bottom every day , and cleanliness is our number one top priority. 5. We get a lot of visitors from America over the years and most are very nice and appreciative . You of course are an exception. I expect that you arrived without cash and had to go and make good on same. You were fully aware of the condition but presumably felt annoyed and vindictive having had to make good on the requirement . Finally , thanks at least for advising that you felt i was at least friendly. This is of course greatly appreciated Elaine

Convenient for both airport and Dublin's ports. However, the bedroom was very small with the bed virtually filling the room. My first task was to fix the loo seat. Breakfast was Bain Marie egg and small sausages and continental ham and cheese. An Irish breakfast was not on offer.

This was our final stop in Ireland before going to the airport very early in the morning. We chose the house, in part, because they offered a boxed breakfast for travelers catching an early flight. Instead, the hostess simply left cereal for us on the counter. But that pales in comparison to the night. We rented two rooms -- one for my wife and I and another for our three daughters. Our daughters were across the hall. While out rooms had an en suite, the other occupied room did not, and their bathroom was right next to our daughters. Those occupants were not travelers, they were male borders who worked various shifts at the airport. They showed up around dinner time with an armful of beer and basically stayed up all night long. They were noisy and also kept using the bathroom next to our daughters' room, which was nerve-wracking for us parents and, as it turns out, our daughters (even though their door was locked). They also had friends coming in and out of the house until after midnight, with the front door slamming each time they came in and the light from their van shining into our window. It didn't help that the beds were very uncomfortable and our bathroom was nasty. After the most wonderful two-week visit to Ireland, staying in terrific B&Bs all over the country, this was indeed a dismal ending.

Richard It is sad to get a disappointing review such as this and it is disappointing that you guys did not enjoy your stay.It is also extremely difficult to respond in a meaningful manner 4 months after the event. However - I will try my best to detail some basics : 1. Re the breakfast When people request a breakfast pack, I prepare one with juice , sandwiches, fruit , and some cake. Many people have commented in a positive manner re the breakfast pack. In the event you guys had clearly requested a packed departure breakfast , that is exactly what you would have got. When people leave early and do not request a breakfast pack , I always show them where they can help themselves to cereal ( there are always three types of cereal to choose from) , juice in the fridge , ham and cheese in the fridge, yogurt , bread , access to a toaster and access to tea/coffee . If people do not leave early , they come down for full Irish breakfast or continental breakfast. 2. Re the rooms We have 3 en suite rooms and one standard room (bathroom outside). Whomever books the standard room needs to access the independent bathroom. 3.Re Regular Guests Regarding the other B&B guests and any noise - as stated in the pre-amble - it is very difficult to comment 4 months hence - but we would be very sensitive to anyone bringing drink into the rooms and creating noise and a disturbance. When one infers that the source of the disturbance arises from our regular guests , we are indeed shocked. For the record - our long term guests , who do indeed work locally are people of high calibre and we would be very surprised and disappointed to hear any negative feedback re their behavior. Both of these guests are professionals . One of these have been with us for approx 9 months (on and off) and the other is a regular mid week guest that has been happy to stay with us for the last 6 years. We have never received any negative feedback previously. In summary , - we can only apologise if your stay was indeed impeded by any unruly behavior by any guests , and indeed we would like to have had the opportunity to tackle any such event at a much earlier time. Regards Elaine Proprietor

Hi We try our absolute best to treat all our guests as well as possible and try to make their stay as good as possible and therefore this feedback is most disappointing.Tripadvisor is an open book with almost no checks or balances re the input from guests. All Accommodation suppliers can seek is to be treated fairly and with some modicum of perspective. In answer to your points please note the following: The Travel cot we provided is a very high standard Blungrikt travel cot , which comes with built in cushion and child protection. We have never ever had any negative feedback re this cot. In respect of your breakfast scenario , your feedback omits the fact that you guys were leaving early and were accommodated with a self service breakfast , whereby you had access to tea/coffee , juice , fruit , yogurt , toast , cereal etc.Given that you were departing so early in the morning we were not on hand and this of course was openly advised and clearly understood before your arrival at the B&B. You never requested the provision of a high chair and we assumed you would be taking a short breakfast with the baby in the buggie , as is the case with many many guests who have come through our home in the past. If you had requested a high chair we would have gone out of way , as we always do , to accommodate you. Best Regards Elaine Seamount House B&B

We stayed here last week for one night. Elaine was friendly on arrival, and advised that as we were leaving at 7am for our flight, breakfast wouldn't be available. She kindly offered to compensate for this by leaving some sandwiches etc in the fridge for us to collect on leaving the following morning. Unfortunately, the remainder of our stay was not good. We set about making a cup of tea in the room, but the kettle didn't work unless we stood beside it holding the button down until it was boiled. After the cup of tea, we went to bed, only to be woken repeatedly during the night by noisy other guests on the landing outside our room at all hours. We got up at 6am, to find that there was no hot water - at all. I had a completely cold shower, and shaved in cold water. I couldn't believe this, as I haven't experienced that anywhere ever before. I ended up leaving the house in a foul humour, feeling stressed to the nth degree. It was a very bad start to our holiday, and one I would not repeat, nor recommend to anyone else. I appreciate that it's difficult to stay on top of everything, but not ensuring that paying guests will have hot water in the morning when they are leaving for a flight abroad is careless.beyond belief, and utterly unforgiveable. Elaine requested payment as soon as we arrived, and I was happy to oblige, expecting that she would have been just as diligent in ensuring an excellent service in return. Her attention to detail did not extend that far.

Myself and two friends chose to stay here for one night as we were going to a concert. Elaine couldn't have been any more unwelcoming on arrival. She spoke to us as if we were teenagers and automatically assumed that because we were going to a concert and drinking alcohol, we would come back and disturb other guests etc. She proceeded to ask would we be getting drunk and asked us our ages. I can't imagine Elaine would treat other guests like but felt it was okay to be patronizing towards us even though we are adults. Needless to say we couldn't have felt any more uncomfortable at this B&B.

Hi Sarah First let me say thank you for staying at Seamount House and we are sorry that you and your friends did not enjoy your stay. Regarding your feedback comments I would like to make the following observations : As a B&B owner I have a duty of care to all my guests . We have been running the B&B here for over 10 years now and we have had mostly very pleasant guest experiences but of course on occasion , it has not turned out so well. When you girls arrived carrying a bottle of Vodka plus a crate of cider to your room, my concerns were indeed raised . I felt obliged to point out that we had a house full of guests and to overtly request that you keep this firmly in mind when returning from the concert. In regards to asking you your age, I apologise if this offended you, I just simply have to ensure there is no underage drinking taking place on my premises and you girls are very lucky to look so young! But again I do apologise if this offended you. As it turned out you girls were quiet upon your return and did not create any difficulty for the other guests and we appreciate this. I hope in time you will reflect back on this event and perhaps understand my concerns and motivations on this occasion. Regardless I hope you all enjoyed the concert. Regards Elaine
