Gythion Traditional Hotel is accommodated in a neoclassical building of 1864, which for several decades was the House of Commerce of Gythion town and which was transformed to a hotel in 1982 and was renovated again in 2001. It is a small and cozy hotel with 7 spacious rooms in the most central spot in Gythion Town. All rooms offer a spectacular view to the port of Gythion and the Lakonian gulf. A very nice hotel with somewhat older rooms, but nice high ceilings and brand new air conditioners. We had room #3 (I think), with a wonderful view of the harbor (see photos). Very nice people who run the hotel, and they gave us good advice where to buy local food and things.
Thank Robby P

The rooms are clean and adequate right in the centre of town. Shower cubicle very small but otherwise everything very good. There are a lot of steps up to the reception so not good for disabled. Parking usually possible in n street outside. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

Hotel Gythion is a 150 year old mansion converted in to a hotel many years ago run by 2 delightful and helpful women and I think has 7 rooms.
The hotel is up a steep flight of stairs and is well situated on the harbour very close to restaurants, cafe's, bars, tavernas and shops.
My husband and I stayed in a double room which was large and clean with basic décor.
The room contained a double bed which was on the hard size and a single bed.
The free wifi did not have a strong signal, there was a fridge, AC, and no safe.

The bathroom was clean and compact with a small shower cubicle and hand held shower.
Basic shampoo/ body wash in dispenser in shower.

We had a sunny balcony with lovely views of the harbour front which had a table and chairs.
Our room was quiet as the doors had double glazing and shutters but it was out of the main tourist season.

We were able to park our car in the street due to it being off season but you can also park in the port.
We enjoyed our 3 nights at the Gythion Hotel and found it to be a good base to explore the area and for 45 Euro's a night great value.

Right in the heart of town, on the main street and at the seafront. It offers basic comfort at moderate prices. Ideal if you look for a quiet place, even though of an old fashioned style. Good value for money.

This hotel is very well located on the waterfront. Room was clean although a little dated. There is no lift. To get to our room we had to go up a very steep set of stairs, which was difficult with our suitcases. There is no parking at the hotel so we parked at the port which was only a five minute walk. The hotel is close to restaurants and shops. The wifi was not good in our room, but this was not a problem for us for one night as we enjoyed the sea view from our balcony. Breakfast was satisfactory. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was good value for money.
Thank Zoefrombrisbane
