Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

No business is perfect and I get that. I think Sun Vista does a pretty good job at serving their patrons, BUT, I experienced some issues I feel EVERYONE would do well to consider... The office staff, while fairly helpful, portrayed a continual reticence to serve our needs to receive and hold a few packages we had Amazon deliver. Their pressure to purchase a Mailbox pass was oppressive, when we were only going to be there a few days. We didn't know our small dog, who is perfectly manored, was not welcome in the lobby of the office and a surly and rude male assistant rudely berated us for accidentally bringing him in. The other residents of the Senior community of residents were quick to berate us for walking our perfectly manored dog on the streets in the park that were apparently off limits to dogs. It is not easily clear to know which streets are permitted to dogs and which aren't, and the crotchety old folks, who have nothing better to do than hammer innocent violators, were in our face each time we accidentally violated the unpermitted streets. When we went to get into the pool, without knowing we were required to shower first, once again crotchety old folks let us know we messed up. All in all I will NEVER again choose to stay in a Senior Only RV Park. Old people, of which I am a 70 year old one, all too often have nothing better to do than complain, berate, and be rude to those they feel need correcting. It made our stay there exceedingly uncomfortable and we will never return to Sun Vista again. If I sound like an equally crotchety old person in my review...well I apologize but I just thought you should know about our experience...

New management has taken over resort. More staff has repaired hot tubs, pool maintenance was excellent, main building had a ton of activities listed on board in hall and restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Also has large laundry and mailroom for Amazon packages handled well. I will stay here again. Super clean amenities and friendly staff.

The pool is covered in your camping fee, but activities and other advertised amenities all have an extra fee attached if you want to use. Not very professional staff and management. 5 star pricing, but not 5 star service. The cable does not work, and no internet unless you purchase from outside company.

Response from janet d, General Manager at Sun Vista RV Resort
Responded 16 Jan 2020
Sorry to hear that you did not take advantage of the Resort activities. Other than the professional entertainment we bring in to the resort and our cafe our amenities come with the rental fee. Pickle ball, shuffle board, RC car racing, fitness center (open 24 hours an day), card and board games do not cost. We have WIFI at the main buildings, pool and Laundry area. are available 24 hours a day. Both indoor and our door heated pools and spas provide volley ball and a great source of relaxation 7/24. Safe travels

Sun Vista resort has been going downhill for a year and a half now. The new owners have raised the rent two times and getting ready to raise it a third time. They took the change machine out of the laundry mat and posted a note that the resort will not pay you back for machines that do not work and you lose your money they give you an out-of-town phone number to call. If you go to the office about any type of complaint you were treated like you’re supposed to keep your mouth shut and not say anything. The owners use their power to change any rules they please to make a dollar. If you purchase a Park model you have to have a background check, 700 credit score, and pay two months rent ahead of time that is nearly $12,000 you have to come up with for rent after you purchase a Park model. People don’t shower before they get in the swimming pools they speed, run stop signs, I have seen several dogs running loose, people let their dogs pee on your pottery and poop anywhere they please and some don’t even clean it up. And this is just the tip of the iceberg Sun Vista resort has turned into a third class trailer park. Every time I encounter someone I don’t have to say anything other year-round people start complaining about different issues. I have talked to snowbirds that I’ve been coming for 18 and 20 years that will never come back they are so upset with this place.

Sun vista WAS a beautiful Resort now a trailer park feel to it. Office staff and manager are clueless and can not make a decision without asking the managing partners. Complaining heard Constantly about office personnel being rude or short with customers. Entertainment manager position has changes 4 times in as many months.
Entertainment venues are so packed to get the $$ that you cannot breathe. Pool & Spa need real help!
Oh and don’t get to close to the flower beds or the managing partner will spray you with water and think it’s funny!

I have stayed at Sunvista rv park off and on for years. They recently changed management and last time I was there I heard nothing but grumbling and complaints from long time residents and short stay people. There are many new rules that most don’t know about, the pet rules changed , now there are pets all over the park. The park has really gone downhill, right next door is a beautiful new park, with all the amenities that you would want. I heard stories of long time employees getting fired.
This used to be a wonderful park but I will never go back, there are many better options, you don’t want to get caught up in all the infighting that’s going on there.

Response from janet desgranges, General Manager at Sun Vista RV Resort
Responded 12 Aug 2020
It's unfortunate that this person was unhappy, but since they did not identify themselves there is nothing we can do. Sun Vista RV Resort is the best deal of any resort in Yuma. The amenities are updated constantly and the rules are in place to provide a safe, friendly community. And yes, we welcome dogs!

This park used to have separate sections for dog owners and those that don’t want to be around yapping dogs.
The new owners of this park are not giving any indication as to what is a dog section and what is not.
They are not communicating with the long loyal people who have bought their units in this park.
A lot of very upset people now.
I suppose they just want everyone to sell and go somewhere else.
Not a good way to take over ownership.

The menu is very limited, but also very inexpensive. Where else can one get dinner for $9.00? The food is good and the french fries are super. The hours are short and what else can I say to make up two hundred (200) characters? Have a good day and enjoy!
