Red Feather Lodge is often celebrated for its clean, comfortable rooms and inviting atmosphere, with culturally-themed décor that many guests enjoy. Its prime location near the Grand Canyon and local dining options is a significant draw. While some guests find the rooms to be basic and occasionally noisy, the overall cleanliness and professional service provided by the staff contribute to a welcoming stay. Opinions on value are mixed, with some travelers citing fair pricing and others questioning the cost, particularly due to the absence of breakfast.

Motel side. Clean and large room, with a large mini fridge. No micro in room but there were two in the ice machine and vending area halfway along the motel block. 24 x 7 tea and coffee, with hot chocolate available from Reception. Water bottle filler in Reception. We didn't use the room's coffee maker as it was messy with grounds inside.
The bed was fine. Shower room with w/c also had an extractor fan and a moulded seat in the shower cubicle. Separate vanity basin with shelf.
Great location right by the free purple bus route going into Grand Canyon park. IMO there is not good eating to be had in Tusayan, Wendys was our best meal. We came fully prepared and self catered for breakfasts and lunches. If I had known there were microwaves, I would have brought some ready meals with me for the evenings :).

Thank you for staying with us. While we don't operate a restaurant I am sorry you didn't have a good meal experience at Plaza Bonita, the restaurant concession on our property. Most reviews for them are good. Please come again.

We stayed at Red Feather Lodge near Grand Canyon National Park yesterday, and I was totally disappointed. The hotel looks impressive from the outside with its Christmas lights and fancy lobby, so I expected more, especially after paying $230 for one room for one night.

The room was very small, lacked basic amenities like a microwave (isn’t that standard in big hotels?), and the washroom was tiny too. I later found out they have larger rooms for $300 a night that include everything missing from the basic room, but at that price, it still feels overpriced.

The biggest letdown? No free breakfast! For such a high price, it’s surprising and disappointing that breakfast isn’t included. I wish I had booked the Holiday Inn across the street, which offers free breakfast for a slightly higher price.

I’m not sure how this hotel has so many positive reviews on Google, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for basic amenities and better value for their money

We are sorry you were disappointed with your stay. We do not have the ability to do breakfast but both Plaza Bonita and The Foodie Club offer our guests a discount for all meals. You did stay in our Motel section which is the original portion of the property and we are able to have coffee makers and refrigerators in the rooms. But, thank you for staying with us and allowing us to be part of your Grand Canyon visit.

Clean hotel, we stayed in the hotel not the older motel section which tends to get more poor reviews, so we enjoyed our stay. It’s winter and the heat worked great. Nice to have a fridge & microwave in our room. Our room was clean & quiet. Staff was nice & helpful. Nice tea & coffee area made it a warmer experience. We had cold & windy conditions. January is off season so less crowded & cheaper rates were a plus. Lots of cafes nearby and a very short drive to the Grand Canyon entrance. Pack lots of water and snacks because the convince stores are way overpriced (double), and get gas before you get here or you’ll be paying way more too. Cafe inside the park visitors center is way overpriced/expensive & had a boring menu.

We found the staff to be very friendly and they were all very attentive. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the accommodation is in a very good location and close to the nearby airport which is very convenient if you are going to go on the helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon & is just 5-10 mins drive away. I would highly recommend this accommodation and just wished we had booked for a longer stay!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel! It was very clean (even though guests made messes by the coffee the staff was quick to clean it up) , beds were very comfortable, coffee was amazing (and I am a coffee snob), it smelled fresh every time we walked in the front door. The front desk staff.......best ever! They are very friendly, accommodating and professional. I have stayed at hotels that cost 5 times as much and haven't received the level of friendliness as Red Feather. I loved that fact that they are still family owned and take such pride in their business to make guests feel "at home". The price was very fair for the accommodations provided. The décor was extremely appropriate for the area and this type of travel experience. However, El Tovar (inside the canyon) can provide a different experience if you want to pay $500 and up a night. If you want breakfast there are several options within walking distance, however they do provide a breakfast bar in the morning. I am not an easy person to please at times but I would stay here over and over. Great job Red Feather!!! You stand out!!!

This dog-friendly lodge is where I always stay. Over 25 years, probably 6 or 7 stays of 2 nights.

Room and bed clean, hot water is hot and microwave works.

Everything is walking distance and GCNP South Rim entrance close. drive < 5 minutes. Don't speed, we say two vehicles stopped. Too many guests crossing street so speeders not tolerated.

Room never smells like a dog stayed even though it is a dog friendly room.

Bed is soft but most people probably like soft, pillows small but worked perfectly, only needed one.

Their prices in Tusayan are reasonable, on low end. The coffee and tea in lobby 24/7.

The staff was encouraging, accommodating and very pleasant to interact with!

We stayed in the (older) motel side and cannot complain. It was clean, the beds were comfy and the air conditioner held the temperature well.

I accidentally left my watch and while on the phone with the front desk they contacted their cleaners and had it back to me in short order.

Pro tip: bring your own food because everywhere in town is very expensive.

Stayed 3 nights on the hotel side of the property. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable with pristine sheets that were NOT “noisy and crinkly” like so many others we’ve slept in at other properties. The AC worked as required, mini fridge and in room coffee suited our needs. The added bonus was the 24 hours free, self serve coffee and tea in the lobby. This alcove was always clean, tidy, and well stocked. The coffee machines consistently delivered hot fresh coffee regardless of time of day. The hotel does not have food service on site and therefore does not provide breakfast, but has partnered with 2 restaurants next door; show your room key card and get 10% off.

This is a review of the hotel, not the motel. I chose it because I can't stand tiny bathrooms and this seemed to have the largest bathroom of the Grand Canyon hotels, which isn't saying much. This hotel is about on par with a Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn somewhere else, except that it's much more expensive. The lobby looks nice but the rooms are basic. I wanted to dislike the hotel because of the price, but other than the price I couldn't really find fault with it.

The bathrooms are bright with ample counter space. The toilet uses reclaimed water and has a warning sign not to touch it, which one shouldn't do anyway...The toilet is installed too close to the shower. They would do well to convert the showers to glass. On our way out, I saw the maids had new shower curtains on their carts, so I guess that means they regularly wash the curtains, which I appreciate.

The rooms are smallish but there is room for two chairs towards the back. A/C comes through a window unit. Our room felt humid and a bit musty. The wooden console with the mounted HDTV, desk, refrigerator, etc. looks nice. The beds are about average.

No complaints, really, but nothing exceptional except the relative size of the bathroom compared to competing hotels. Keep your expectations low and you'll be satisfied.

Thank you for staying with us and I am sorry we didn't meet all your expectations. Operating a hotel at the Grand Canyon, or maybe at any National Park has challenges in housing employees, getting supplies (to the end of the road) and in the case of the Grand Canyon also the cost of water. But glad you were smart and compared what was available and chose to stay with us.

We booked Red Feather based upon location, cost and reviews. So glad we did! The hotel sits just a few miles south of the South Rim entrance to the Grand Canyon. It was a perfect location for our 2 nights there.

The staff was very welcoming and hotel itself was very clean. In addition to the friendly staff, there is a TV screen/video system that shows you the wait time and/or potential back up at the entrance to the South Rim. This was a nice feature (although we didn't need it at the time of year we were there).

The hotel is within walking distance of restaurants/gift shops and the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. Would definitely stay here again!!

No, sorry, but the shuttle the National Park Service operates does not run in December. The only other option might be using a taxi service (run by Xanterra from inside the Park) but I am not sure what their December schedule will be.
