We chose this hotel because it has a 100% gluten-free restaurant because I have celiac disease. We spent 5 nights. Immaculate cleanliness. Hostile hotel staff. Sensational restaurant staff. Bernando, Lucia, Nicole Eron and the chef treated us very well at all meals. I ate well and zero cross contamination. The breakfast bread is not as delicious as the dinner covert which is amazing! The pool is good, has a beautiful view of the ocean. The location is convenient, there is about 10 min drive from the beach of dominical and uvita to the right or left of the road. I just suggest better pillows. All very tall, which somewhat interfered with our sleep. The brand of cosmetics offered is also delicious!

Beautiful hotel with friendly accommodating staff. The best part is the restaurant is 100% gluten free so my celiac husband was able to eat everything off the menu. We also got massages that were amazing and much needed after a week of adventure travel. Small relaxing pool right outside our room. We just stayed for 1 night but I would recommend 2 nights to enjoy the laid back k area.

One of the best hotels. I have to congratulate the cleanliness and care of those little details. Spacious and very nice rooms, an extended place close to many outdoor and water activities. The restaurant certainly one of the best I have had the pleasure of visiting! In places like this pay is a pleasure as what they offer if it fits with what they charge. I recommend high-end to people looking for a high-quality place

To start with the positives, the pool area was small but perfectly clean and tidy, we saw humming birds and capuchin monkeys. BUT the location right next to highway 34 ment you heard the big American style trucks all night. The pool filter sounded like an asthmatic bagpipe and you are very close to an airfield so you hear light aircraft overhead. We asked for a quieter room but the chap on reception was so indifferent it was borderline rude. The bed was lovely and comfortable BUT our coffee machine leaked badly and flooded the floor when used, the hairdryer did not work and the smell of the drains was awful. Having visited Costa Rica four times now this is by far the worst hotel we've stayed in.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The best part is the staff! They are friendly, helpful and go out of their way to please customers. Each of them were equally outstanding. This is the best part of the hotel.
The restaurant serves gluten free meals, which is an attraction to some people but we didn’t care for that. Breakfast choices were the same every day and there is a variety, but being gluten free was not appealing to us.
There is a lovely pool but only 6 lounge chairs. This in inadequate for a hotel this size.
From this location we visited Marino Ballena Beach and Ventanas Beach. Two amazing beaches!
This hotel is in a remote area and you have to understand that you need to get a taxi to go to the beach, or elsewhere to dinner. Some taxi drivers charge double the rates of what others charge.
We did a day trip to Dominical and did not enjoy that. It’s a “laid back town” and too laid back for our liking.
If you are willing to either stay at the hotel all day, or take a taxi to the beach and to restaurants then this is a good place for you. It’s a great hotel with amazing staff. When we went to Marino Ballena we had a wonderful lunch in Uvita. Great people and great restaurants.

Nice rooms with aircon and fans; has a TV with two English news channels. Everything else is in Spanish. Small pool with about 8 lounge chairs. Average breakfast. Reasonably priced cocktails. Dinner was hit and miss sadly as the chef clearly liked his salt. The beef medallion with the white truffle sauce was exceptional. The beef with porchini mushrooms was gritty as were the potatoes which were also very salty and inedible. My husband ordered the baked fish which was so salty, that it was inedible. Instead of not charging for the dish, they took $4 off the cost. The avocado starter was just delicious and the flavour exceptional. Lots of birds and white faces monkeys all around which was lovely. The hotel is close to the road so there is a lot of noise from trucks going by. There are no restaurants within walking distance so if you don't have a car, you need to use taxi's. Staff are friendly so no complaints there .

We had booked a jungle room, but that was very disappointing (old, musty and no view). Luckily we got another room (upgrade) after consultation. A beautiful room overlooking the pool. We enjoyed the room, the pool, the delicious cocktails and the tranquility. The staff is extremely friendly. The breakfast, they also serve a typical Costa Rican breakfast, was delicious. You can also dine there. The location is minutes drive from some beautiful beaches.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Cuna del Angel, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.
First and foremost, the service was outstanding. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable, always with a warm smile and a genuine eagerness to assist. Their attention to detail and professionalism truly set this place apart.
The food was another highlight of my stay. Thanks to Andrés, Julie, Monica and Bernardo.

Definitely a good hotel, spacious rooms, cleanliness at the highest level, courteous and helpful staff. Excellent air conditioning, functional bathroom, furniture style that was, comfortable bed with excellent quality of are. There is a swimming pool, not huge but enough for two strokes. The location is not the best, but a few minutes drive away are beautiful beaches, especially Dominical with its markets. I would have given 5 stars but the attached restaurant is definitely overpriced.

Easiest to list the issues we faced during our two night stay;
From the moment we arrived the reception staff were cool and unhelpful. Awful smell of mildew in the room. No ocean view as advertised. Apparently the trees have grown!! Dilapidated uncomfortable sofa so nowhere to sit in the room other than on the bed. Bedding that just didn't fit the mattress, every morning we woke up wrapped in our sheet and mattress cover because they just didn't fit the mattress. No wi fi in the room, although it is advertised that it is. A safe that didn't work. When we investigated we found it had been repaired with sellotape! Laughably this hotel boasts a gourmet restaurant, the food is acceptable but when my partner ordered Tarte Tatin for his dessert what was delivered was a cold traditional English apple pie. The breakfast was the poorest of all the hotels we stayed in. We complained to our agent who made contact with the hotel and was apparently told that the hotel would make it up to us by giving us a free meal. When we checked out no such attempt at an apology was forthcoming either in the form of a reduction in our bill or a visit from management to deal with our issues. To add insult to injury we had to ask reception for some help to take our luggage down four flights of external steps. The reception staff seemed to have no enthusiasm for their work and not a jot of initiative. The ONLY saving grace in this hotel were the two male waiters in the restaurant. Both delightful. They should give the reception staff training in customer service.

Dear Carol T, We appreciate your comments about your experience and regret that it was not as expected. It is a pity that during your stay you didnt tell us all the things that you comment in this review. We had every intention of helping you despite knowing that you were not happy, we have offered courtesies that you have not accepted, and at all times we tried to help with your luggage. But the other things you mention, you didnt say anything to us and we could have helped make your experience more positive. Thank you very much, Eduardo Calvo Cuna del Angel
