Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had stayed at Tapatio Cliffs a couple of time about twenty years ago and it was great in every way. This time around found many of the same great things, but some real disappointments. The place has been allowed to go without upkeep for too long. I walked around our room with white socks on and they were dark brown on the bottom. Pointe in Time is fine, but the menu is limited. Accessibility is definitely lacking. We probably won’t go back.

We celebrated our one year anniversary and appreciated the upgrade to a Superior Suite from the Front Desk team. The suite was clean and well maintained for an older property and we loved the extra room. We also appreciated the late departure granted as Diamond members. Only concern was we ordered in room dining for Breakfast and was surprised to receive our food in to go containers placed in a paper bag. It took away from experience of the stay, but we understand the reasoning. Overall we loved the stay and plan on returning soon. Hopefully we’ll be able to enjoy the many amenities on property. Thank you Pointe Tapatio Cliffs Team!

I have stayed here many times in the past and each time that I come here the rooms look older and not being updated. This is a very large and spread out resort built on a mountain side with many beautiful views. There is the main building with the rooms surrounding two pool areas. There is a family pool and an adult pool. I have stayed in all areas of the resort in the past. The outlying rooms are built on the cliffs up steep drives with limited parking near your room. You will be far enough away from the main building and the restaurants so you can either drive or walk to the main attractions if you walk there are no sidewalks and if you drive there is a good chance your parking spot will be taken. The main lobby has a coffee bar that serves Starbucks and snacks. There is a cantina restaurant by the adult pool but it wasn't open when we were there.. The restaurant selection was limited and the two restaurants were outdated . There is a restaurant on the top of the mountain but we couldn't get reservations because its open to all of Phoenix. My suggestion to management is to keep a block of taples open for resort guests. We did eat appetizers at the bar which were just ok. The water park is the main attraction. This resort needs more of a sandwich selection. All in all the food at the water park pool was the best . We stayed there a full week and had adjoining rooms with my family so this made our small room look bigger when we opened the adjoining door. We did a lot of hiking every day. This resort is located across the street from a state park at North mountain so you have access to a lot of great hiking trails. There is also a great golf course here.We paid a lot of money to stay here and I think next time we vacation in the Phoenix area we will look at other options for the dollars that we spent. I would recommend this resort for families with children because the water park pool was enjoyable. I would highly recommend this resort for hikers and golfers because the trails are right there as well as the championship golf course. My final thoughts on this resort is that it's way to big and spread out and under staffed . The buildings need updating. The cost is too high compared to other resorts.

This Hotel was very clean, room’s excellent they are all suites. The buildings are built on the hills so if you can’t walk alot or unsteady it will be difficult. They do have free golf carts to pick you up and return you, and they are right on with that…they are there in seconds. Lots of people have a car, but we did not so we would have to hire a car our problem this property has No concierge (on the website it says it does). So no one knew anything about what was available outside of the resort, restaurants, stores, bars, nothing!!! This resort has 4 restaurants, but Point of Tyme os the main restaurant. A 26$ a person breakfast buffet, Lunch and dinner with 5 starters priced starting about $15 and Entrees range from $25-$40. Around the pool Cascades cafe open till 5:00. The Different Point of View supports to be beautiful with outstanding views. Opens a 5 and you need a reservation. We were there for 9 days could not get a table before 8:30. So we never was able to go. Finally the have a small breakfast sandwich in the lobby get there early cuz everything goes fast! Also if there are 10 people in line you have already waited 15 minutes and the employee want to take a break they just put a sign up On a break be back in 20 minutes … WHAT? Food was good but not alot of choices. Wait staff in the restaurant are all very nice and good. There is a golf course which is very nice, if you want early tee times call in advance. 2 beers and 2 water available for purchase at the start but there is a cart out on the course. Renting clubs are $45 if your staying at the resort. I do want to say all of out drivers of the golf carts were there in seconds and so friendly and accommodating. I really can’t say enough 100% on those guys and service.

Resort is on a Cliff, must be ok with walking up and down hills. Rooms desperately need to be renovated. Overall, I stayed there because the conference was at this location, so it was convenient, however if I was in the area, would prefer a different establishment.

I found the resort to be quite run down. The tennis court had broken poles and the roads were broken up. The hotel room that we were in was really dated but was clean. It's nice that it is close to the walking paths and mountain. We didn't try out the pool because it was too cold but looked nice.

All of the staff were truly fantastic. Robbie was able to help us with all of our questions, and Richard went above and BEYOND as our bellman. The days we were guests it was pouring rain, and Richard drove the shuttle multiple times, and each ride was a delight. The rooms themselves were also very clean and comfortable, with great views of the surrounding hills. Would most certainly visit again.

I love this resort — and as I’ve written reviews in the past, one thing is for certain - it all begins at check-in. My check-in experience could not have been better. Braden was so amazingly helpful, incredibly efficient and wonderfully friendly. He answered all my questions, pointed out things I was unaware of and just made the entire experience 5-star. The only, and I mean the only reason I didn’t give the resort 5 stars is this: the resort has four Tesla electric car charging spaces. When we went to plug in, there was one space available. One of the other spaces had a car in it that was plugged in but the other two had some other type of electric cars in the spaces that were NOT plugged in which, of course means that if someone else wanted to charge up their car, the idiots who thought they could just park there were denying those who wanted to actually charge their cars. I went to the Bell Desk and inquired if they would be willing to put a sign on those two cars telling them to please not park there unless there were actually charging. (The sign says ‘Tesla electric car charging’) I was told that ‘the resort does not have any connection to those chargers so we can’t do anything.’ And there’s the reason for the 4 stars and not 5.

This hotel is extremely expensive and very disappointing. Very out of the way from town. We rented a pool cabana for a LOT of money for Super Bowl and the staff kicked us out exactly at the halftime show. Jeana and the security guard Dustin were extremely rude and saying “we’re sorry you can’t read”. There were no hours posted anywhere in the pool saying that the cabanas close. People were next to us in the hot tub and were allowed to stay. We were quiet, calm and minding our own business watching the game. Additionally we ordered a ton of food and drinks and paid a lot of money. The staff were very disrespectful. They didn’t even given us a warning that we couldn’t stay before coming in and treating us like criminals. Also, every door in the women’s pool bathroom was broken wouldn’t close, the sinks and paper towel dispensers were broken. Really disappointingly broken down for an EXPENSIVE hotel.
