Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

SOOO Loud - not a relaxing place at all - two nights there was loud music up on the rooftop bar - do not stay on the 4th floor if you’re looking for some quiet time! The location was pretty good, sitting by the pool was nice, but even my noise cancelling headphones wasn’t enough to drown out the noise. Very sparse room, no closet, and who puts up the soap/shampoo/conditioner up 6’ high? No soap on the sink - had to get it from the shower soap dispenser.

We arrived at The Clarendon expecting a one-bedroom suite that resembled the online photos, but were disappointed to find a room that looked like an old motel, lacking a closet, with dirty walls and blinds. Upon expressing our concerns at the front desk, they offered to cancel the reservation but retained the first night's rate and fees. Seeking an accommodation after a brief 20-minute stay, the manager, Candace was extremely rude and refused further communication, walking away. The associate at the desk was also unprofessional, escalating the situation by cursing and eventually asking us to leave, even calling security. This level of customer service in the hospitality industry was unprecedented. I strongly advise against booking with The Clarendon.

Advertised photos show a glamorized version of the actual hotel. The room was sparse and echoed like a storage unit. There were sticky rings left on the desk and nightstands from the previous guests' drinks that I had to clean up myself. The "closet" was a cheap shelving unit that looked like it was stolen from a dorm room. The bathroom was tiled and painted completely black with very low lighting. The conditioner in the shower squirted out like milky water making us question what was in the other dispensers. The was a hose running to the hot tub and the pool looked like it was being repaired. The only redeeming factor was that the bed was nicely made and cozy.

This hotel is not worth the amount charged. All we can say is they charge you a $20 destination and $2.51 transient fee. It's a low budget place, and I really feel sorry for the staff. They have to listen to the complaints from guest. But it's not their fault. This hotel should be sold to a developer that will invest and remodel it to a better hotel. We didn't know how sad this hotel is until we checked in and stayed.

This little spot is cool. It’s not fancy, it’s not top of the line, but it’s fun and cute and you can smoke weed in some of the rooms. For this reason, some of y’all leaving reviews need to manage your expectations. Of course there’s gonna be a burn on a piece of furniture every now and then, you’re in a room where other stoners have dropped their joints, the same way you’ve done countless times before. It’s a party hotel, the furniture might be a little worn, get over it. If you’re too concerned about the furniture, you need to smoke better weed. The rooms are clean and a great backdrop to bring your own party to. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Fuego has a good nacho plate. There’s a couple rooms that have been turned into a lounge, which seemed fun for group hangs, that was not our intended purpose, so we didn’t stay there too long. Overall great experience, but I did read the 1 stars to manage those expectations and plan what I brought accordingly. Thanks Clarendon, it was a fun time.

I found The Clarendon to be like taking a step back in time. Everything was a throwback to a past generation. Everyone was so nice and accommodating, the front desk people were so helpful and got me squared away fast so I could enjoy my room. The room was very nice, a throwback, but not lacking any modern conveniences. I will definitely stay here again, I enjoyed myself immensely.

This was a great find for my fiancé and me in central Phoenix with delicious, authentic, healthy Mexican cuisine and relaxing live music. The musician had a kazoo! Whoo-hooo! Very attentive service, great drinks, clean and comfortable. Meow meow, we like-y a lot.

The Clarendon Hotel had spacious rooms with comfy beds. The front desk people were very friendly and helpful. The Fuego restaurant had excellent food at reasonable prices. A great place to stay, close to downtown. I will return to stay here.
