Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Recently stayed at Manusina Beach Fales for 1 week and it was the best experience ever! Taleo and his family are so welcoming and looked after us so well, especially his lovely daughter Valentina who cooked the most amazing meals for my sister and I! The food really was delicious Samoan home cooked meals. The Fales were exceptionally clean and tidy. Mattress and pillows were very comfy, I had some of the best sleeps of my life! In my opinion Manusina Fales are one of the best around as you get your own balcony off the front with a table and chairs. Trust me it makes a difference, and keeps sand out of your sleeping area. Fales also had a light and Power sockets which was handy. Amazing snorkelling right off the beach and there is also a couple of kayaks to use. If you are having trouble deciding between Fales, then stay here, you won't regret it!

booked an enclosed fale due to unpredictable weather. Able to lock and secure the fale. One power point. No problem to have cool stuff placed in a kitchen fridge. Just a very short walk to the ocean. Low tide is definitely the best for snorkeling. Then the water drops to about 1m deep so you can almost walk way out to the reef, teaming with all sorts of tropical fish and the occasional turtle. Sunrise and sunsets are beautiful. Happy to come back again.

Just returned from a fabulous first time trip to Samoa. We spent 6 super relaxing nights at Manusina Beach Fales. The fales are clean and comfortable and right on the beach, which is lovely and great for swimming and snorkelling. Manusina Beach Fales is a real family operation and we were made to feel very welcome. The food was great and there was always a good range of dishes. We were there over a long weekend in Samoa and the other guests were a mix of Apia residents having a long weekend break and overseas tourists, including solo travellers, couples and families. We enjoyed chatting to other guests over dinner or a beer but there was no pressure to be social if not in the mood. The sea breeze kept the temperature comfortable so we didn’t miss having aircon. The fales have mosquito nets but we didn’t see any mosquitos while we were there. The shared bathroom facilities are basic but clean and perfectly adequate. We had a hire car and toured around Upolo using Manusina as our base. We visited several resorts for lunch which seemed nice too, but I think Manusina Beach Fales trumped them for location, serenity and hospitality, as well as value for money. I would highly recommend both Samoa and Manusina Beach fales for a real beach getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay at Manusina Beach Fales. Our hosts were warm and welcoming, the food was delicious and the setting was unbeatable. The facilities were great, the showers and toilets were clean and located just a short walk from the fales. Tea and Coffee was provided 24/7. We are looking forward to returning.

This place is AMAZING! I was a little worried about “roughing it” in beach fales versus staying at a resort/hotel, but it was an amazing experience. The fales are right on the water, the food is phenomenal, and the shower/toilet areas are very clean. We were only able to stay 2 nights, but we’ll definitely be back during the next school break!

Wow, where to start with Manusina? Firstly it's in a beautiful location on a safe beach with a protective reef. There is a choice of beachfront fales, two enclosed cabins, and a self-contained unit further back from the beach. We chose the fale because the view was absolutely gorgeous. Taleo and Leilani are super friendly and welcoming hosts who seem to be constantly working but still have time to give Samoan hospitality. Honestly, they go above and beyond. They offer breakfast and dinner included for 100 WST pp (Sept '23), and let me say that the food here is fabulous. Leilani is the boss in the kitchen and she cooks with love. Home style food and plenty of it! When the children aren't at school the older ones all help, and they are delightful. Too many to name but Valentina and George were great, and Kelani is just too cute. I could go on but I suggest you go find out for yourself. You won't be disappointed. This is Samoa!

The best beach fales that we stayed at in Samoa. Large slightly raised sleeping area and a deck with a table right over the sandy beach overlooking the ocean. The shared bathrooms were clean and tidy and they provided hand wash and a lovely flower arrangement. The dinner and breakfast which were included were by far the best of any fale we had stayed at. Dinner included fish, chicken wings, beef and potato stir fry, a lovely salad with a lot of elements, roasted pumpkin and rice. Breakfast included a wide variety of fruit, omelettes, banana bread, toast and jam. The staff were lovely and very helpful and accommodating. If you are considering a fale for your accommodation I would highly recommend this one and I will certainly return on my next trip.

I absolutely loved my stay here - limited to only 8 days in Upolu, i had been pushed to move from fale to fale every night - Manusina was the first and only fale that i stayed in for 2 nights! They offered delicious, home-made food with large and generous buffet-style options at both breakfast and dinner - I even got an incredible extra lunch on the Sunday. They also had fruit, tea and coffee available to help yourself to throughout the day. Very friendly and welcoming family and staff working there. Great personal space within the fale itself; I had a double mattress to myself, but i know that they offered split mattresses for duo-travellers. There was both undercover space inside the fale, and under the deck which overlooked the beach, and had a table with chairs, and a foot-bath on the steps up. The bathroom facilities were clean and accessible, having both showers and toilets about a 20m walk back from the Fales (for the non-villa shared-facilities option), as well as separately having a basic beach-front shower. The beach is stunning, and much less touristy than the hub of Fales further along the South Coast Road at Lalomanu. Great for snorkelling, and i know of other guests who got involved with some fishing and surfing further along the same beach. Overall, i had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend. Although not a criticism, the only thing I’d say they could offer to further improve the stay, would be the possibility of renting equipment for snorkelling/bodyboarding/fishing etc., as unless you are travelling with these already, the Fales are too remote to find any nearby for buying or renting.
