I stayed 1 night at this hotel, the day before my flight. The hotel is located conveniently a quick 2 minute drive from Faleolo International Airport.
This hotel should be so much better than what it was - the official re-opening was only 2 days ago so you’d think things would be pretty good, unfortunately this was not the case.
Check in was poor at best - reception staff weren’t fantastic at communicating, I struggled to understand what they were asking. I had to ask them where breakfast was the next day, where was it, what time, etc - kind of thing you’d expect to be told.
Dinner was hilarious - I walked down to reception to ask if I could order dinner to be sent to my room - 1st issue, no charge had been taken from my credit card for incidentals (I thought this had happened based on the amount of times I handed my card over at check in). The lady at the front desk - different to the check in staff and actually quite helpful & friendly - said there were menus in my room in the compendium & all I had to do was dial ‘0’ - no compendium in my room - and no phone!
The lock on my door didn’t work - there was a chain to pull across, but I felt quite uncomfortable being unable to lock the door. Barely any products supplied in the bathroom - 1 small soap & a miniature body lotion?
A lot to improve on - staff training, rooms that have all security features working & how about some shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the bathroom?
Not all bad - I have to point out the things I really liked:
- Excellent room service dinner, everything was delicious & to a really high standard - Faafetai the concierge was super helpful, friendly & professional as was the lovely person who delivered dinner - nice to see some staff are well trained & are doing an excellent job - The bed was super comfortable, the a/c was perfectly set (I love a cool room, especially when it’s 30 degrees and humid as outside) - Soft bathroom towels that were well sized - really good quality - A large amount of bottled water in my room
Come on Sheraton Samoa - you can do way better!!

I think COVID has hit this resort hard. There are some small repairs and upgrades that need to happen, but I think staffing and supply issues have limited this. The souvenir shop, dive/snorkel shop, casino, and swim-up bar were not open the whole time we were there, and a fiafia cultural show was promised night after night but the dancers never showed up. They gave us some free drinks to compensate for the lack of snow. There isn’t a gym/sauna etc as it says in the description. There were often supply issues. They seemed to struggle with the house keeping; our room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 6pm and the room wasn’t cleaned/made up every day, one day they didn’t come until 6.30pm to do it. The food was ok, as a vegan I found it hard as this concept is entirely foreign in Samoa. But they tried hard to accommodate me. It would have been nice to see local food on the menu (eg. fruit at the breakfast buffet). The atmosphere was a bit dull, they could have played music for those lounging by the pool, and they could have made a fortune if they were circulating around the sunbathers to ask if they needed food or drinks brought over. The location is not close to town, it’s about 45 minutes to Apia (70 tala taxi ride). But if you were staying in town you wouldn’t get the resort feel.
That said, the bathroom was nice, the beds were comfortable, and it was quiet and relaxing. The pool is great, and the private beach is stunning. The staff make this place - they are all so friendly and lovely and made us feel so welcome.

The hotel is very comfortable including the beds, and it's well laid out. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The meals provide plenty of variety and are delicious. It would be good to have microwaves available in the rooms, and more information readily available. For example, I only discovered there was a gym and spa when I went for a walk. Also, it would have been helpful for us to know that we could rent a car to travel around, which is very important because the hotel is so far from Apia. I suggest that you have more information on these things in the rooms themselves.

I booked this hotel thinking it’s the Sheraton it will be nice luxurious but it was far far from it. The whole resort is run down our room had broken sink basin paint peeling curtains were filthy and the sliding door was impossible to open. The rest of our holiday after this was scared for my kids especially my 13 yr old who suffers anxiety when at 5am the Alarm went off next minute all we hear is EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY!! This went on for about 2 minutes then just stopped. I looked out my door couldn’t see anyone except other confused guests , there were no wardens no staff no one telling us what’s happening until I walked to reception was greeted with a good morning from a staff member before being told it was a false alarm we all thought there was a tsunami or something. After that anytime my girls heard an alarm of any sort they panicked . The pool had no suitable access as in ladders to enter the main section of the pool I witnessed other guests beside myself struggling to get in and out of it and not to mention the life rings were all severely damaged completely broken on the outside they would fall apart if thrown out to rescue someone! The pool wasn’t cleaned regularly you could tell by the amount of stuff floating around and there wasn’t a lot of guests there the only time i noticed it was cleaned was when I asked them too after a man was peeling his sunburnt skin off in the pool. I only received poolside service 2 out of the 5 days we stayed there and cocktails were very limited as there bar stock was dreadful and the staff were miserable too. Victoria on reception was great and a couple of the bell boys and buffet staff but not a consistent level of friendly service. The food in the buffet was good but the table the toaster sat on rocked back and forth almost falling off and they need cushions as our legs kept sticking to the chairs . Severely run down wouldn’t recommend here.

Wonderful location in sea view rooms Housekeeping needs attention but have been informed that this area is being reviewed in that a Housekeeping manager will be appointed soon. Staff members very friendly, polite and also very keen to be helpful. Catering for both breakfast and dinner provided excellent choices and special mention for Chilli who went out of his way to be helpful and friendly. The overall location of this hotel is really attractive but certain areas in the grounds need a bit of tlc.

As a longtime Marriott customer, I am deeply disappointed to see the Sheraton name associated with a property that falls so far below the brand's usual standards. The hotel underwhelmed in almost every aspect—cleanliness, service, dining, and accommodations.
While the hotel has undergone recent renovations that improve the overall infrastructure, the experience still leaves much to be desired. The beach is a highlight, with pleasant shaded areas that make for a great day by the water. However, the bar service only caters to the pool, which limits the full enjoyment of the beachfront.
Dining was one of the biggest letdowns. The quality of the food and beverages was significantly below expectations, even accounting for the logistical challenges of being on a remote island. Over the entire duration of our stay, only once did a staff member check on us during a meal—a glaring lapse in hospitality.
Communication was another area of frustration, with conflicting information given on several occasions. Guests should be prepared to double-check all details to avoid confusion.
Cleanliness also leaves much to be desired. Photos can illustrate the extent of the issues better than words.
This property does not live up to the Sheraton brand’s reputation. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and works toward significant improvements.

Travelling with family and we booked a Suite, room is amazing and so spacious, could not fault a thing in the room. We had help with taking our bags to the room and also the young man that helped us gave us a tour of the room and services that they have to offer, very informative and was happy to answer all the questions I had. Service in all dining areas is so friendly and helpful, special thanks to Chilly and Fred for the awesome service when we went for dinner, always checking on us if we need anything and if everything was ok, definitely made us feel like royalty. Food was absolutely delicious I highly recommend the hummus platter. We’ve only booked 2 nights and it’s only our first night and I’m wishing that we’d come earlier. Thank you Sheraton Samoa Beach Resort

I would recommend the Sheraton to anyone wanting to come to Samoa. The staff are so helpful, kind and accommodating. Nothing is a hassle for them.
We stayed in a double queen room overlooking the water and it was perfect. About 100 meters from the restaurants, bars, swimming pool and a few meters from the beautiful ocean.
The room felt very clean which was a nice change from the previous places we have stayed in Samoa.
The food is tasty with various meal options. Reasonably priced as well.
The pool is huge and very clean with a swim up bar. You can also order food and drinks from the bar close by and they bring it to you.
The highlight of this stay is definitely the staff. They just go out of their way for their guests.
The Sheraton is a short drive from the airport, if you aren’t hiring a car it’s a 20 WST taxi fare.
We will definitely be back and recommending the Sheraton to others.

Very disappointed with the offer from Marriott . They had an offer called island escape which meant a credit of 500wst against your room and free airport transfers. Unfortunately nobody at the resort knew anything about this offer and when I arrived at the airport there was nobody to collect me. I paid for a private transfer. Eventually after 6 days at checkout they finally acknowledged both the credit and the transfers but I have never received any official action or refund re the money I paid for the transfer that I had upon arrival. The staff, albeit, lovely had no idea about any offer even though I asked daily. Very disappointing. I noticed that when they applied the island escape the cost of my stay went up 600WST from my original booking cost which essentially was my transfer plus credit so it really wasn’t a promotion.

Dear Vacation793415, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We regret any miscommunication and any inconvenience this may have caused during your stay. Based on our review, our hotel transport was arranged as per the pre-arrival communication with our team and had pick up you at the airport. However, due to a misunderstanding, the driver mistakenly collected WST 16.00 from you for the transfer, which was intended to be complimentary. Upon discovering this the following day, the amount was promptly refunded by our Front Desk Manager. We also confirm that the WST 500 resort credit, included in the Island Escape promotion, was applied to your stay. We acknowledge the concerns raised regarding the clarity of the offer details and any delays in addressing them. We appreciate your feedback and want to assure you that our team continuously strives to enhance communication and ensure all associates are well-informed about ongoing promotions to provide a seamless guest experience. Kind regards, Apple Buhian Sheraton Samoa Beach Resort Operations Manager

Don’t know when the renovations will be complete
But it won’t matter, all the restaurants, pools etc are done and the guests are all in the areas which have been renovated.
The work left to do is in the guest accommodation way down the complex had no impact whatsoever on our stay in May2023.
Was awesome would love to stay there again.
As long as you have a credit card as it is a no cash resort, you pay for what u eat/drink at the time and spa pay when you book. I do not believe you have to pay day charge
There are more places to choose from in the Mulifanua area.
