Litia Sini Beach Resort (fales) are located on the South Coast of Upolu Island where the white sand beach and lagoon in Lalomanu village really does look like the travel brochure. Litia's beach is most popular for snorkeling, scuba diving and other water activities in the clear blue waters of Lalomanu. The natural beauty of ocean views and swaying palms makes Litia's beach resort a paradise to relax and re-energize the tired mind and body.

One of the nicest hotels we've ever been to! Rooms are basic and with shared facilities, but this is not a secret and clearly stated both in the description and photos. The shared facilities are less than a minute's walk away from wherever you are and they are neat, clean and decorated with fresh flowers every day. And the location is really unbeatable! Wake up to the sounds of the ocean and step out on your private balcony directly on the white sand paradise beach! Swimming was good and snorkeling easy accessible even for young children. Our kids were in heaven playing with the kittens in the restaurant and collecting sea shells and hermite crabs. Both breakfast and dinner were included in the reasonable rate and food was delicious. They made us fresh sashimi the first night! Even the kids' needs were accomodated. Staff are very friendly and it felt like staying with family after only two nights. If you're considering to book here, don't hesitate to do so! We will definitely be back. Thank you Mary, Lydia and family for a wonderful time!

My partner and I absolutely loved staying in the beachside fale here. The location on Lalomanu beach is nothing short of amazing with crystal clear waters to swim in, a true tropical paradise. The view of the beach from the fale is spectacular, the locals are so friendly and the staff/family working at Litia Sini were so kind, courteous and hospitable. I was particularly impressed by the fresh, delicious meals provided here (with one of us even being vegan!) In my opinion this is a must-visit stop on any Samoan holiday itinerary!

The resort is in a beautiful location and you can reside in a fale about 5 metres from the high tide. Just spectacular! The colours of the water are fantastic and the view is breathtaking. We had excellent food with some local specialities as well. It was really clean. The resort is very well run and the knowledge of the owner who is on site is vast. The land has been in her family for years. Wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

We, a family of four, visiting all the way from Denmark had the most wonderful stay at Litia’s. Lydia and the rest of the staff welcomed and treated us with great hospitality and warmth. We absolutely loved the concept of breakfast and dinner table side buffets. Great local and fresh food. The Lalomanu area was our favorite part of Samoa and the beach was a wonderful sandy beach with a nice reef for snorkeling. Our beach fale was beautiful, simple and clean with an amazing ocean view and great beds. No A/C but mosquito nets, a ceiling fan and open windows worked for us. Sometimes less is more. Cannot recommend Litia’s enough - especially if you’re traveling with kids like we did. Much love to everyone at Litia’s from Copenhagen.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights for the Easter weekend. We absolutely enjoyed our time here. The food for breakfast and dinner was absolutely delicious. Even lunch was awesome. The staff were so friendly and very helpful to anything we asked for. We had a beach front fale and it was so nice and clean. The beds were so comfortable with a handy fan inside. In addition the bathrooms were so nice and clean. Also enjoyed swimming and the beach as well. Lydia and Joseph are great hosts and very helpful if we needed anything, We are certainly looking forward for another stay sometime in the near future.

I'm really concerned about writing this review because I'm not sure I want too many people finding out about this place. My ideal holiday is all about getting away from commercialism and finding an unspoilt haven somewhere away from the madding crowd! Well I've found it here at Litia Sini on Upolu's Lalomanu beach. These lockable(from the inside) fales are in my opinion the best on the island and right on the best beach in the whole of Samoa. There's awesome snorkling and great dive sights really close by where you can see a range of tropical fish and huge turtles. The "resort" is run by a lovely Samoan lady called Lydia who has also lived in New Zealand and Australia so she knows what western expectations are. Lydia prides herself in knowing all her guests by name it's that sort of place. The buffet style food both at breakfast and dinner was excellent with a huge selection to choose from. There's a great bar area overlooking the beach with pool table and Fia Fia on Saturday. What makes this place really special is the great family atmosphere. Most of Lydia's extended family seem to have a job to do even if it was her teenage nephews playing touch rugby on the beach with my boys. The fales were well built with clean linen and pillows. The all important mossie nets in good condition. Each fale has a lovely veranda which was perfect to sit in the shade and watch the world go by drinking a cold Vailima from the bar. All in all this is a very casual laid back place and safe (security guard checks the place at night). My top recommendation for the most amazing value holiday we have ever had. Only 70 tale a night per person inc breakfast and dinner...now beat that ! We are going back next year. Oh and by the way Lydia has just bought an expresso machine and I showed her how to make a strong flat white NZ style. So if you go don't forget to ask her for a Rick's Flat White!!

The ocean view from the deck of Lita Sina Beach Fale resort, Lalomanu, is one of my favourite in Samoa. The first time I visited it in May 2012, I survived by miracle the wicked rip current of the reef channel that is just in front of the mentioned deck. I later learned that at least 5 people had drowned in that same channel in the previous years. That spot is a real trap for unaware snorkelling tourists. Despite the above, there was not even one sign warning the visitors of Litia in 2012, nobody from the resort bothered to warn us before we took to the sea, and no rescue service whatsoever was available. I recounted in details my near-death experience on the national newspaper Samoan Observer and on the web site of the US National Oceanographic Atmospheric Agency (search: NOAA+rip currents+survivor stories+international /Samoa) with the aim to raise the awareness of the management of the resort and the authorities about this danger. In the hope that no one would experience anything similar after me. The few times I talked to the management of the resort and its staff I realized that they were not keen neither to recognize the problem nor to talk about it. They even tried to deny that there have been people drowned in front of their resort or pretended to not know. Last year three warning signs were finally placed on the beach and in the water but they are either too small and far to be seen from the beach or located in useless locations of the beach. Meanwhile, sadly, another 2 tourists have lost their lives at the same channel: an Australian last year and a Japanese one month ago. On visiting the resort on 13 August 2017, I have found out that - probably following the recent death of the Japanese tourist - the resort has finally placed somebody acting as a kind of life guard - very young and not so well equipped, my first impression. No trace of any kayak or boat on the shore ready to be used for any emergency. How many more people have to die before the Lita Sina Beach Fale resort realizes that they are located just in front of the most treacherous and dangerous reef channel of all Samoa and that their business is strictly dependent on the safety of their visitors?

Kia Ora! John and I stayed in Samoa for a total of 13 nights with 7 nights stay in a beach front fale at Litia Sini and then moving onto Coconuts Resort in Maninoa for 5 nights for our Wedding.
We were a big wedding group with 29 people staying at once at Litia Sini which made the stay even more fun and exciting.
Litia Sini is a great stay. The staff are more than friendly, at the end of our stay, they became like family to us. It is very genuine and honest service, as if you were a homestay in someones house. The food was much much better than we expected, the breakfast which is part of the nights stay always had hot and cold options which included eggs, spaghetti, toast and sausages etc aswell as fresh pawpaw, bananas, coconut and mandarins and cereal and coffee/tea etc. The dinner was great too, lots of different options and on the Fiafia night (Friday) we had lobster which was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
The Resort itself is very simple but is exactly what you need for this area as it is very remote and not close to the town. The rooms were great. The view was stunning and it was great to wake up to bright blue skies and stunning water every morning. The beds were soooo comfortable and great pillows. There was a mosquito net over the bed which was handy and a fan. It is extremely hot in the rooms as there is no air con but you get used to it. The rooms were cleaned every morning however the towels were not always changed - you just need to ask.
The bathrooms are shared bathrooms but are good, kept clean during the day and showers were fine.
Lalomanu beach is absolutely stunning, the photo's online definitely do it justice! It is a calm beach with beautiful white sand, see through clear waters and just blissful. It is very obvious that there was a lot of damage post tsunami and from speaking to staff and seeing photo's, but to our group, thats what made it special, to be back to visit this beautiful area and to help rebuild the community by choosing to spend our money by staying at Litia Sini.
I would definitely recommend Litia Sini to stay, no doubt!
I would also recommend the following;
- Take a bus ride to town from Litia Sini - it is a long ride but great experience (you will probably want to taxi back as it is around a 2 hour ride) - Hire a car for a couple of days - see To Sua cave pool, explore the island - Attend the Fia Fia night - great experience
To the staff at Litia Sini - Lydia, Joseph, Olive, Molo, Makalina, Koka, Joseph etc - thank you for your great hospitality and for looking after our rowdy group, it is a memorable trip that we will keep closely to our hearts

Hi Rick
As a frequent guest, and someone who has been helping the resort rebuild since the Tsunami, I am answering on their behalf. You have compared Samoa to Noosa and to Bali, but I think unfortunately you haven’t taken to time to understand Samoa, their culture, and the unique challenges of the country. It’s a small island, in the middle of the Pacific, with significant challenges as a developing economy. Most products are imported (consider the cost), access is challenging, and power is mostly diesel generation, from Apia. So let’s not pretend for a minute this is a first world “Disney” destination. So to ask why they have a good rating, is asking the wrong question.
Litia Sini is not 5 star, but many travelers have rated their experience highly because they connected with the place or the people. You obviously didn’t, and that’s OK. But I am concerned someone “oversold” Samoa to you, and your expectations clearly weren’t then met. If you feel the website, or marketing material wasn’t representative or accurate, then we need to change that. Because we want to align people’s expectations with the experience. If a travel agent oversold the place, or Samoa, then that would also be great to get feedback on. Travel is a personal and individual thing. Samoa isn’t for everyone, it requires a sense of adventure, and some people simply don’t want that on holiday. That’s understandable.
The onus on the travel marketers, is to ensure expectations are aligned, so that people are matched and aligned to the destination; be that Samoa, Noosa and Bali.
Cheers
Lawrence
