Staff was great. Insanely hospitable. It felt like a b&b/guesthouse from that perspective. I thought the service levels were fantastic. I never thought of it as an unsafe place as indicated by a previous review. I do agree with a previous review that it’s a 1- or 2-night place. Expect nicks, scratched, and patchwork. Lighting might not have proper fixtures, but everything is overall clean, good hot water, and good AC. I could complain about wifi, but proper, reliable wifi throughout Apia seems to be lacking. There are nicer hotels out there at higher prices, and I was overall happy with the experience that I got for the price.

I'm going to have to disagree with the review just below as our experience was completely different. I was a bit skeptical at first based on previous reviews ( I am also a very fussy traveller when it comes to accommodation cleanliness etc) but we found this hotel to be really nice, clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was really good too! Location is a bonus as right in Apia. Our room was clean (no ants as per previous reviews however we don't leave food lying around etc we made sure to keep our room clean) aircon good shower is a bit small but wasn't too fussed about that as long as I could have a nice shower in the morning and evening. Overall our experience was great and no complaints.

We stayed a week at Travellers Point. Location is so handy. Accommodation was clean and tidy, good size room loved the air conditioning as it was so hot. It was lovely to have a pool on site to cool off and lounge around on sunloungers. Staff were very helpful at the front desk . Food was great and tasty and I asked for some food that wasn,t on the menu and they made it up for me thank you. We had great stay and would go back and recommend to others.

Delayed flight late check in just before midnight Friday we arrived to a pitch black Hotel where the Manager/Lawyer just woken up and assisted us to walking through dark corridors up two flights of stairs carrying our luggage hot and sweaty to a Family room where the nightmare begun.
I will bullet point the nightmare experience.
1. Family Room - no curtains for privacy - bed linen musty - fridge turned off - floor covered in black dust took photos of our blacken soles of our feet - disgusting - two queen double beds and 3 adults single expecting us to share one between two -
No Fire Evacuation visible in the room - bugs in cupboards and drawers -
2. next Morning day two of nine asked for another room with an extra bed receptionist promised new better room with an extra charge of $30 tala a night asked to speak to Manager from 7am got run around he was away at a meeting until wife Manager as well and Lawyer decided to meet downstairs in restaurant after 1pm only to be told to wait until she finished talking to a friend over lunch and husband Manager was in restaurant as well drinking beer with friends totally ignoring us - after a short discussion where Wife decided ok we will honour your request she must of been offended by my comment of how I was disgusted in the service and that her condescending mannerisms would not be tolerated just refund our money and we will go elsewhere.
3. New Room - had extra single bed but again the curtains where damaged when opened the one smoke alarm was faulty the linen was not changed until day 3 - floors again dirty until cleaned by ourselves using their white towels so they could see the dirt.
4. Complimentary Breakfast - only went down once - very poor cornflakes weetbix - small slices of papaya , lady finger single bananas, toast, butter and jam, pancakes cold as tea and coffee.
5. Customer Services - staff well-mannered however Owner and Wife very unprofessional ignoring us as we passed each other daily - Their Lawyers business is in Hotel on Ground Floor and Manager even gets drunk down at bar/restaurant and lies on flooring by hotel entrance after closing hours talking to security all hours
6. No late checkout offered but told $20 tala for every extra hour after 10am paid this

In closing I strongly believe that the Husband and Wife Manager have No experience whatsoever in running a Hotel or Customer Services at all - hate to think how they run their Lawyers Offices not many customers seen during our stay.
Also because we were Samoan they really thought they can get away when anything.
The three of Us ALL work for Govt and Council in NZ Re-Housing/Lease/Customer Services and this experience should be investigated by Tourism Samoa to see if Hotel Standards and Practices are being adhered to.

I booked in May 2018 through booking.com - Flight arrived Sunday called the property Thursday before to reconfirm booking and they said all is well and to pay cash on arrival. Arrived to accomodation to be advised that our booking was cancelled due to their peak season/over-bookings - they said there are accommodations up the road go and try them - Stranded in another country I didn’t know what to do, I pleaded with them and advised I don’t know my way around and all they could say was “sorry there is nothing we can do and to contact booking.com” I was so upset I broke down and cried and begged for a room - the reception was getting frustrated with me she started yelling and said theres nothing we can do so we left and after 5hrs we found Tivoli Hotel who were kind enough to accommodate us and could not believe we were treated the way we did. I contacted booking.com and they advised that our booking is still active it was not cancelled. When I posted on Facebook with what I experienced, they messaged me that the room is available and if i can kindly take my post down as we have a lot of mutual friends, they offered us a free lunch to talk over what had happened - I kindly declined and gave them feedback on having more training with their customer service as they could have handled the situation much better. I always book hotels with booking.com have never experienced anything like this before - Will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We booked 7x rooms at this hotel to spend our last 3 out of 10 nights in Samoa! The owner was very unprofessional, there were many instances where he would confront members of our family while we were swimming or just chilling by the pool with rude comments and asking us to be considerate of his diners and visitors (obviously his circle of friends). It wasn't until my sister gave him a very upfront response about "showing some respect to his paying guests" that he changed his tone & somewhat tried explained himself and his personal stresses, this is not something guests should have to deal with! Other than the owner, the bar and restaurant staff were very rude, no smiles - they need to learn how to deal with people! Faith was restored however in your reception staff who were the only lovely people to deal with here, thank you Ingrid & George (hope I remembered right). There was a foul smell coming from beneath the stairs to our rooms which lingered into the reception area, despite our vocal hints to look into it to staff nothing was done about it! The rooms are very dark & small, bathroom and shower very tiny! The pool was always warm/hot and loose tiles on the floor of the pool injured 2 of our family members! This was one of the main reasons we booked here along with the great location to town but it was very disappointing! May I suggest that you take some advice from other successful hotels who pride themselves on people's happiness and comfort like Tanoa! We will not be staying at Travellers Point Hotel again! Thanks!

Stayed at this motel from March 3rd for 4 days. This was the last leg of our trip and having great service at all the previous motels our family stayed at the thought that the treatment would be the same? Our family booked 8x rooms. Photos on website looked great and pleasing, having a pool was the main draw card as the hot climate always wanting a pool dip to cool down. On arrival went to the pool for a swim and ordered drinks, the bar staff were not friendly and served as if a big task was asked of them...first put off. The rooms were air-conditioned but there were ants n bugs everywhere, I think the fumigation team needs a call. 2nd put off. The pool times were confusing was told pool closed 10.30pm every night, but then to be told it was closed when it suited the owner. 3rd put off. After travelling round during the day, our rental cars could not find a car park at motel as the owner had VIP guests over for dinner following election day . 4th put off. After our 2nd night I lodged a complaint at reception on behalf of my family on the way we had been treated and requested a refund for the rest of our stay. The next day we recieved apologies from owner n staff and was up to us if we checked out,. This was our last stop in Samoa and as the family was tired we decided to stay out our last night's here. If there is anything fair to say about this motel that I did find a smiling n help staff member in George at reception and the cleaning staff did an amazing job with the rooms and we're always smiling n helpful. Must say we did get to know the owner on our last night and he was apologetic about everything as the Samoa elections were in full force and the owner was running for local MP. As this took up most of his time n concentration. We would not stay here again as first impressions make a great difference while you are on a family holiday and spending a lot of money on accommodation. In my opinion this motel really needs to step up and improve if they want to get good feed back from paying hotel guests. GSA'U n family.

Rooms are old and dusty, cockroaches and ants in the rooms, the pool area not good for children especially when you have locals (the owners business friends) come in and getting drunk which made it unsafe for my children. Would not recommend.

A disappointment all round. Floors dusty, room smelt musty and got worse as time went on, the external door was difficult to shut, and there were no flywire screens on windows or doors. Meals very ordinary.

Travellers Point is a lovely, convenient spot handy to downtown Apia, Palolo Dive and Mt Vaea.
We can not thank Joe, Sarona and their staff for their fantastic service and hospitality.
Lovely pool, garden, air conditioned rooms, restaurant and bar. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy island hospitality. I highly recommend trying the chicken and avacado main, very more-ish. Thank you all once again for making our stay wonderful.
