Quite by chance I discovered this well priced standard room opposite the main community markets. Su and Sila are the perfect hosts. They provide a very clean and well serviced operation with proficient day staff and a night watchman for 24 hour service and security. The complex is of a colourful villa-style decor with an accent of crazy tiling on the pathways. The rooms are kept to a very high standard and complimentary breakfasts are served with love and attention. Standard rooms with airconditioning, queen-bed, fridge, TV, desk , wardrobe, and of course ensuite bathroom. Rooms for families are larger. Common guest kitchen facilities. View from upper deck area over rooftops to the mountains. Situated between two supermarkets and near a fast food outlet. Very convenient location about a ten minute walk into the CBD. Plenty of taxis out front, but the hosts offer transfers and tours to suit, in their minibus with driver. Apia is 35kms from the airport. This is not a fancy resort. There is no pool. Just good ole personal Samoan hospitality.

We decided to stay here for three nights during our time in Apia. For the most part we weren’t disappointed - the room was nice, the staff helpful and the location ideal.

Location wise, the place is great. There’s a supermarket less than 50m in either direction from the front gate, the market across the road and the centre of Apia is less than 10 minutes away by foot.

The room looked like it had recently been renovated. It was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The air conditioning was a bit suspect at times but thankfully all of the windows opened to allow a cool breeze to flow in.

When I booked the room mentioned it was self contained. When we got to the room it had a bar fridge as well as tea/coffee. Outside the room was a kitchen that was available for guest use - maybe that’s what they meant in the description.

The disappointing part was the construction noise - which was mentioned to us by a note in the room rather than during checkin or better yet, via email in advance. The complex is extending which means there’s builders and related noise happening from 8am onwards. Add to this the painters painting the exterior of the resort. The flow on for guests is having to work around the builders/painters and deal with the noise during the day. The accommodation was at a cheap price - maybe that’s why.

For the room and service alone, we’d stay again. Sadly the building works put a dampener on the experience - and given the progress, it’s likely to be a while longer before they’re finished.

In the middle of the hustle and bustle of downtown Apia, across from the marketplace, is a secret jewel called Su Accommodation. Not many of my local friends knew of the place, even taxi drivers needed to ask again... ***TIP #1 - When catching a cab, and the driver doesn't know, just tell him Moatoga - next to Frankie Mall*** The private road up to the complex is tricky, and could be missed. Upon arrival, I had the image of a motel type of accommodation, but a friend that stayed there before raved about the facility. ***TIP #2 If you have the extra money, upgrade to the family room.*** Although I had the room to myself, the room was ready for me to have my friends or family members over to visit with me and hang out... SLUMBER PARTY! My favorite part about my room, aside from the comfortable queen size beds, kitchenette equipped with microwave, refrigerator, rice cooker, toaster and electric kettle... was the BATHROOM... For a big person, this is something that was a hands-down winner for me. When I opened up the bathroom door, I recall a moment of bliss when I saw how large the shower and bathroom was. The shower water flowed generously. There is a large sink and lots of towels. The air conditioner cooled the room in about 10 to 15 minutes.

Although there isn't a 24 hour reception area, the security guard was helpful in contacting the managers when a friend locked her key inside her room. ***TIP #3 - If you are leaving for a late night excursion, DON'T LOCK THE KEYS IN THE ROOM***

Pati (the manager) was very helpful with my stay there as he suggested places to visit during our stay, as well as contacting a Rental Car when I was at a loss of hope (there were several large church conferences happening at the same time, car rentals were OUT) ***TIP #4 - If you plan on sight-seeing, get a car - if you are just going to do things in the town area, cabbing it might be cheaper*** Pati had also helped me during my panic mode. He usually has all the answers to my questions.

***TIP #5 - If you want wifi for work, I would suggest that you take a mobile phone and an iPad with keyboard. Purchase a SIM card and data plan from any local phone company, fix the settings on your phone to disable each app's background data setting (Google how) and then make your phone a router. A lot cheaper than wifi, and can go with you anywhere. I even used my phone as a GPS here. AWESOME***

I had a great experience and would surely do it again. Thank you Su Accommodations for the lovely stay. Alofa atu.

This hotel is nothing like the photos on Booking.com! And the location is undesirable. The driveway is an unattractive rocky mess.
The room was nothing I expected and being pregnant I wanted to have a shower straight away after the flight from Brisbane. The water wasn’t working! And would continue to be not working for another day. So two days all up. We paid the extra for breakfast and the only option you have is eggs and toast with a tiny sausage or porridge. And to make matters worse, it took 45 minutes to get the breakfast in the deserted restaurant. Disappointed to say the least. We ended up cancelling two days in and going to a different hotel. I was too upset to stay. They still wanted to charge us the full 10 days we had booked. Why should we pay for the 10 days when we couldn’t even have a shower?! DO NOT GO HERE. Paying extra for accommodation was worth every cent when we got to our new hotel.

I stayed here over Christmas period. As most other accommodations were booked out.

Good points:

Its close to the city of Apia. Close to Markets, Supermarkets, fast food outlets and shops.

Clean room. Ensuite, Fridge, TV, Air conditioning, Tea and coffee.

Shared microwave and kitchenette area outside rooms.

The house cleaning staff and gatemen are lovely and very friendly and try to be helpful.

Not so good points:

Arrived early morning was told I could check-in early when I booked online. Was not informed of $15 fee for every hour early before 2pm. Paid $75 early check-in fee.

Drive way up to accommodation has numerous potholes and is very odiferous from neighbouring shop waste.

Wifi credit from reception could only be used within Hotel range.

TV did not work. Went to ring reception as per one page Hotel info suggested if any concerns. Only to find no phone in room.

Told staff TV was broken assured it would be fixed. It wasn't for 3 days. It was replaced on boxing day. As reception closed for Christmas.

Complimentary breakfast was included in price. Christmas day closed. Every other day, was told the boss is not here today. Or the
Boss is not here with key yet. Did not have breakfast once over the 6 days I stayed.

Stairway up to rooms is a hazard. Slippery tiles and uneven steps. Almost fell several times.

They were tiling and making steps in concrete downstairs so a whole day of banging and drilling.

There is a public hair dresser within the small complex and a public Hall. So noisy when in use with cars and people coming and going.

Air con broke on last night no one around to ask to fix.

Having a decent hot shower was hit and miss. Hot water tap turned on full, dripped hot water usually in afternoon.

I wouldn't stay there again or recommend staying there. I've stayed in backpackers accommodation paid a fraction of the price and had better facilities and service.

Best thing about Su Accommodation was the friendly and considerate housecleaning staff.

My husband & I have just spent 6 nights in total @ Su Accommodation and were very happy there. We were most impressed with Alofa, who seems to do everything from reception to cleaning rooms and getting breakfasts. She was just delightful and so helpful. The location is perfect, walking distance to main street of Apia, 3 supermarkets next door and local markets across the street. Our rooms were very comfortable and clean. Each room had fridge, air-con, tea/coffee making facilities, as well there was a guest kitchen out on balcony, where we had our complimentary breakfast each morning. Bit of noise from the buildings next door first thing in the morning. The accommodation is in a complex down a laneway, so place to park our rental there. It's also guarded at night by Sauni, who also picked us up and delivered us back to the airport as part of the service. There are oodles of taxis at the end of the lane and fares are cheap around the town
We felt we were staying with friends, it was perfect. Thankyou

Su Accommodation is thee best place to stay while in Samoa. My husband & I were passing through to go to NZ & upon arriving early, we were greeted by Mariah. She was very friendly & we had double booked & arrived too early for check in time but she took care of us. The workers & evrybody at Su Accommodation made sure we were taken care of & always had a smile on their faces. Mariah told us about their Shan’s kitchen & we were skeptical at first but after our first meal there, we were sold! haha Worth every penny! We felt like we were a part of tha Family as we met tha Dad & Mom & siblings who all take part in their place of work. Our room was perfect! Tha AC was strong, oh tha bed was top notch! Tha bathroom as well was outstanding! Su Accommodation will forever hold a dear place in our hearts.

The photos on the internet look pleasant. On arrival it looked nothing like what the internet portrays. We arrived from our 5am flight to no water to shower, I’m also heavily pregnant. And a tiny gross room. Had a sleep and went down to breakfast around 8 and got talking to an elderly lady that had arrived on a 6am flight waiting for a room. That lady was still sitting there at midday the poor thing.
Breakfast took a very long time. Waiting 45 minutes for a piece of toast each and two poached eggs.
We had only paid half of the accommodation via booking.com so we asked if we could leave and not pay the remaining as we had no water and poor service. They argued that it was not in the contract. They didn’t understand that the contract could be voided if the room was unsuitable, water being a huge thing! Eventually my partner offered to pay the 5 days out of 10! Just so we could leave. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Booked my parents who were travelling there for a few days. They took one look at the place and described it as a 'dump' and 'disgusting'!. They waited for a long time for service and realised that there was only 3 people who worked there the whole time and decided to leave. They called me straight away to say the photos were nothing like they looked at the venue and I only wish they'd taken photos! What a scam! DO NOT BOOK HERE!

Our experience with this hotel/ accommodation place wasn’t the best.

The rooms and facilities are basic though clean but not nearly as nice as they make them look on their photos. The kitchenette was on the hallway not in your room and the overall service not that good.

We arrived in the afternoon on feb. 9. 2018 and was not told by the staff that in fact there was a cyclone on the way to hit the island later that same evening. We found out by other locals telling us to take care and the day after the cyclone the hotel was totally flooded and we had just been lucky to stay in a room on the first floor to the left.

Of course it’s s not their fault that a cyclone hits but they could 1) have warned us 2) prepared themselves better by buying gas for the generator beforehand for example.

There was no power or water for almost a day and they did little to try and improve the situation. We could see they had water on the ground level and had to ask them to bring water up so we could at least use it to empty the toilets with.

Again it’s not their fault a cyclone hit but they just didn’t handle the situation very well.
