Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You get what you pay for..... I was a solo traveller traveling to Samoa and didn't want anything fancy so decided to stay at Millenia for 7 night. Apon reflection I should have paid that little extra for a nicer room at the hotel but went for the Standard option. When checking in they welcomed me at 430am which was great, bag carried to my room and air-con on waiting for me. Room was somewhat clean but definitely needs a freshen up with some paint, new sheets and furniture. At night (Especially Saturday) the bar/restaurant downstairs turns into a nightclub with pumping music and alot of screaming people. Thankfully, I brought ear plug otherwise I wouldn't have slept at all. The pool is literally falling apart with tiles missing or floating on the bottom of the pool. Customer service was 50/50, some ladies were extremely helpful and some wouldn't know what service is. During my stay I asked for my room to be cleaned as nothing had been changed/done for 4 days since being here. I went out for the morning on a tour expecting my room to be cleaned however when returning at 2pm, nothing had been done. Decided to forget about it and have a lie down, I could hear fumbling at the door when opening it there was a staff member bring towel with no other cleaning products and she said "Ohhh your back". After telling her not to worry about cleaning my room today because I'm back and reating she then said "Can I come in and talk" after asking what she wanted to talk about and explaining I was resting she said she was bored, had nothing to do and she wanted to rest......Well not in my room your not. Would I stay here again....No, would I recommend this property.....No.

I don’t know where to start with Millenia. I know people say “you get what you pay for” but there is no excuse as to why there should be cockroaches, mould in the rooms and showers and bed bugs when we are paying 275.00 WST a night. An absolute rip off. Not to mention, when we got to our room, there was an overwhelming stench of urine coming from the bathroom. The pool water looks like it hasn’t been changed in years and smells horrendous. Staff are not friendly at all and customer service is lacking. I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone. There are NO hygiene standards and I couldn’t wait to leave. I was so disappointed when I looked and saw other beautiful resorts we would have stayed at for a tiny bit extra than what we paid here. Please do not waste your money here. Absolutely disgusting.

Struggling where to start, really. I have stayed in a lot of hotels. This one takes the cake for overall poorly run, priced, and service. We were allocated what we call the broom closet bcos it's right in front of the foyer, underneath the stairs and right next to the housekeeping room. This room was obviously part of the janitors closet divided by gyprock sheet. You can hear everything every time a staff member enters the room next door and starts banging on their equipment (early hrs). You can hear every person who walks around the foyer or sitting down having conversations. As you open the door BAM you can see the bed! The floor was flooded as you entered with the housekeeping staff, a lack of skills in cleaning the floor properly it's like they just poured a bucket of water!Kettle was provided with no cups or spoons. The bathroom was brand new with no shelf to store your toiletries in and out of the shower, not even a hook! Cheap TV that you can not understand a word as the sound system sucked. Went out to check out the pool - erk! Floating hairs and other unknown objects looked like they hadn't been cleaned for a while. Went to eat at their restaurant/bar. Nothing was available that was on the menu! To top it off, the staff - yes, the staff are constantly lounging around and chatting away in the foyer, the public space for guess. OK, I get it. we are in the islands, but seriously, there is a place for them to lounge, not in front of the guess. First experience for me as most hotels you don't see staff doing this! At the end of the day, the price you pay at this hotel does not, I repeat, DOESN'T justify it. You can not even get a friendly greeting! Ps. We were told there were no other rooms available for us to move!

Stayed here for 9 days. Stayed at a deluxe room. Pool front. The room I stayed in was a deluxe I think. 2 beds. Was ok. In terms of cleaniness of the rooms. The first day. I had to ask the staff to come and clean the spilt dirty mop bucket water. The bathroom had long hair on the walls and sides. The cleaning staff really need to be trained. The location of the hotel is great sea view. Saturday Friday, Saturday the Bar becomes a club and expect noise until late night. The breakfast does not at all reflect the price you pay for the room. The management needs to really bring in the Samoan Hospitality in the Hotel Managements. The price of the rooms are over rated.

The worst hotel I've ever been. Service is terrible. It's dirty and rusty in the bathroom and even around the fridge. Asked for new towels and gave us towels that look worst than my floor mats . The reception person named ? Adriane was so rude and hopeless. I will never ever stay at this hotel again.

Just plain terrible. Popped in for dinner only. I ordered a Pina Colada - partner ordered a red wine. Pina Colada came out in a small glass, no garnish at all and clearly watered down and the mixture was separating. The red wine came out in a beer fridge cold wine glass and the wine was incredibly cold and came with a straw. The food, well disgusting , we both ordered chicken wings with chips and salad. On presentation the coleslaw/salad had a seafood thousand island dressing on it…. It should have been mayonnaise, the 7 wings were fully coated with what appeared to be a bbq sauce. The chips were edible. The total bill came to $74 tala about NZ $ 45.00. We were presented with the bill as the food came out. I said to the young waitress I will pay when we have had the meal. Honestly this has to be one of the worst meals and drinks that we have ever had. I wished we had stayed next door at The Amanaki Hotel, now that’s class. Melanie you need to,sort your chef out and the person on drinks needs to go. Will never go back again.

Great for groups who will be active throughout your holiday. Live bands on Friday and Saturday so recommend for people who'd enjoy some entertainment onsite. Super Accomodating workers, great restarant staff so friendly! You'll need to ask for towels though regularly, and our room's shower pressure wasnt the greatest. The aircon and comfy bed helped our hot outings. There is no wifi so recommend the $55 Tala for 50gigs from Vodafone.

The room was run down and unclean, it was also away from the main building and different to the photos advertised on the website. One of our towels was stained and unusable. Overall a disappointing experience and would not stay here again.

The first day we checked in with my husband 1 year old daughter and 2 members of our staff from Savaii that needs to do some work in Apia I must say the front lady working she was very friendly and kind, she is always keen to answered any questions we asked about the hotel. Our second day the new shift came in and we wanted to extend our stay then Adrian the front desk lady told my husband that the villa we stayed is not available as they have other guests check in today. So we were moved to 2 standards room at the back. We came back to the hotel around 6:30 pm and the fist thing I saw the villa we stayed before is still empty because the curtains were opened and when we enter our standard room the floor was all wet the water is leaking from the AC, when my husband asked the kind lady who checked us in about the villa and we find it sad knowing that there is no guests checking in but why lied to us? our two staff who were up early that same morning told us that some of the staff keep staring at them and some even rolled eyes when they smiled. This is really sad thinking that maybe Adrian and some of the female staff who works that morning look down on local people like us esp from Savaii. From my experience working 7 years in a hotel our staff never treat our local people differently because they are also paying with money just like every other guests. I know you do have staff that are so kind and the way they serve guests is 100% just like the first lady who checked us in and moved us back to the villa the night we found out that Adrian lied to us. Not forgetting the young gentleman who came and apologies to us and helping us with our bags. They deserve credit for being so generous.

My travel agent booked this never again ( House of Travel NZ) I’ve booked a Deluxe Room, Upstairs, nice view, But we broken up in the morning at 6:30 with the staff going about their duties Had no face clothes, no shampoos & conditioner et cetera. No drinking glasses . But we did have 2 plastic sauces and cups( I felt spoiled) To have tea or coffee out of you had to wash in the hand basin . No wi-Fi the reception staff were( never straightforward) asking about tours what to do in the area in on the third day I found where was Complimentary Continental breakfast The tiles in the swimming pool were broken or missing, and we left Sunday full of flea bites on our legs.. If I hadn’t of paid, I would’ve left the day we arrived and found somewhere nearby location was great though and I did feel sorry for the housekeeping staff and the restaurant because there are Worked long hours. I believe the Owner owes another hotel in Apia nearby and I think he’s just running this into the ground. it’s put me off wanting to come back to Samoa 🇼🇸 I’ve been in the travel industry for over 30 years, and this has been the worst experience of ever had😏
