I want to rave and rave about this place, but most are not going to want read a novel! The heart of this family is reflected in the hospitality of Leric Housing. While you are here, you are definitely of priority! This was my first trip to Samoa and my first international trip. A few mistakes were made in the planning and most of them created chaos during my time in Samoa. LeRic Housing voluntarily sorted me out and ensured I felt the beautiful spirit of Samoa.

First, I would like to help readers recognize picky visitors. Yes, Leric Housing is not a resort. If you are a person who travels to other countries to moonlight as a decor critique, this is not for you. The accommodations are spacious mini-housing units. They are clean and well-furnished. My unit had a full living room, dining room, kitchen, a Master bedroom, and a twin bedroom. Granted, the decor is not yesterday brand new, but definitely comfortable and inviting. The grounds are gorgeous with a pool and tennis courts. The highlight is the restaurant. The food is mouth watering and if you are lucky, Ricky (one of the owners) will sing!

In planning my trip to Samoa, I didn't realize I was visiting during their exciting 50th Independence festival. With my non-refundable ticket booked, I couldn't find a place to stay. I was panicking as a first time solo traveler. I managed to get 3 of my 5 nights at LeRic. I then missed my flight from Fiji. I arrived two days later. LeRic still accommodated me and Jenny rearranged bookings so that I had a reservation for my entire stay. My global cell from Telestial turned out to be a rip-off. Rick loaned me his phone during my stay to ensure that I was always safe. The festival UB40 concert was the night that I was leaving. Ricky and Jenny insisted that I should not miss out. They again extend themselves to personally get me to the concert and to the airport in time for my flight.

I have never encountered such hospitality in all my years of travel. I am deeply grateful and look forward to staying at LeRic Housing in the future.

This place saved our lives!!! We stayed at Talofa Inn B&B in Apia which unfortunately was NOT suitable for my young family. Talofa Inn was really restricted for young children. A friend from home, mentioned this place and it took us a bit of direction to find it tucked away in Vaitele! Coming from the airport, it's the right hand turn after Farmer Joe's/Burger Bills... or from Apia Town Centre, it's the next left turn after the Vailima Factory!

We find the Office and its quiet. However, we are attracted to the large tennis court, trampoline and pool at lower ground.

We walk into the Office and are greeted by Leiti. She gives a description of the accommodation for 4 adults and 4 children. Interestingly enough, the description of the accommodation sounds ideal - a double room and twin room. They offer bedding for our young children as well. We are then greeted by the owner, Lei, who had corresponded with our friend. They weren't expecting us as there was a communication breakdown, HOWEVER, they could offer us an apartment.

We checked out of Talofa Inn in 5 minutes and relocated ourselves at Le-Ric Housing Motels and did NOT regret our decision to move at all!!!

We fell in love with the owners who had four children of their own. This really felt like a home away from home.

As the previous reviewer states "if you're a picky traveller visitor... this is not for you!" but no place in Samoa is a FIVE star accommodation, however, the owners and staff make this rating more than a five star!

Each apartment offers a double room, twin room, laundry, storage room, spacious bathroom (shower only), fully equipped kitchen with rice cooker & toaster (minus a kettle & microwave) and large living area. We were able to fit four single mattresses in the living room. A/C (in lounge and main room), ceiling fans and car port.

Our apartment was next to the pool so convenient access for our kids. The trampoline, small swings, basketball/volleyball/tennis courts and swimming pool were also used regularly by our kids. Being in a hot island, the kids made great use of the facilities offered.

The restaurants are no longer operating but there is a Farmer Joe's supermarket and Burger Bill 2 minutes drive away or 10 minutes walk. Laundry facilities, Masseurs and Pool Table are also available.

I cannot rave on about how we LOVED this place. Our kids were so homesick at Talofa Inn B&B that moving to Le-Ric Housing redeemed us from having a disaster of a holiday. Our kids made great friends with the owners children and we left Le-Ric making friends who really felt like family. We are grateful for the owners for accommodating for our needs last minute but most especially, making us feel at home. They were not intrusive. They live on the upper level and all the apartments are on the lower level. The power meter is checked daily so expect the staff to be in your apartments each day and you don't realise they're there as they go about the work quietly.

Each night, the gates are closed and a Security Guard keeps eye from 6pm till 6am. He monitors two gates and does a wonderful job in trying to make sure he's at the gate for your exits and entries. Every Friday evenings, the staff have their work gathering on the courts so if you want to watch a bit of competition volleyball - seeing the staff spike it out is great entertainment.

Again, don't expect FIVE STAR accommodation in Samoa with functional and matching utensils BUT that's what makes this place so perfect, the fact that everything you see at apartments with your mismatched plates, missing utensils or mismatched bath towels is something you would expect at your own home. The apartments is clean and we had no problems asking for an iron or extras that might not be found in your apartment, is provided by the staff/owners.

Bonus: Rick Rentals for Car Hire by owners!

The only disappointing thing about this accommodation is that it is not ADVERTISED enough!!! Thank you for making our Samoa Holiday a pleasant and problem free vacation. Our kids loved it and the memories are priceless!!! Hopefully this review compensates for the lack of advertising!!! :)

Talofa

We stayed here as a group of 7 - x4 adults and x3 teenagers. Can't say and rave about the great hospitality of Jenny and Ric for hosting such a wonbderful stay. Great morning brekkies, a pool to cool off and away from the hustle and bustle of the Apia main road. We came for our mother's 80th birthday and can't rave enough about our stay. (Our visit was in May 2011, so we are a little late in writing this review). Better late than ever, being Samoans, Lol. Thank you, Jenny & Ric! Keep up the wonderful Samoan hospitality you both reflect.

The floors is dirty with dead centipede’s body and large cockroach crawling around the kitchen and bathroom floors!

The sheets are dirty too with used tissues under the bed….

It’s just simply disgusting! Not to mention no internet or power included! Power is to be paid by the meter used so is the internet….

COMPLETELY NOT WORTH THE PRICE!

I notice this was also mentioned in a previous review. But, I will say it again as it is very much needed!!
The setting is is actually very warm and welcoming, but the units themselves needs major refurb work.
Our unit, had a refrigerator that didn't work properly and had trays missing as well as problem parts. The kitchen utensils were all broken and unusable. There is no phone in the unit.
There is a tv, but no reception at all.
The 2 single beds in the 2 room were both ridiculously uncomfortable, it felt like blankets were put over timber to create these beds.
The plastics over the couches were interesting.
My advice is the owners is to spend some money on the units!
It's a great location, great setup, but, I would not recommend people stay here unit these little things are repaired.
We checked out earlier, because it wasn't what we were expecting from what we read.

Thank you for your review. We must say how sadden we are of your review, in that when you came in to notify us of you and your family early check out. It was due as you said, to your wife and baby being really down with the FLU of which they both caught from the NZ winter while staying there. Your immediate plan as outlay by you was to stay with your mother so she can help to look after your wife and baby for a couple of days and then return to Australia, but you will be back to finish your holidays and you want to come back and stay with LE-Ric Motel as you both like it here so much. Just to touch on some of your concern raised; 1. Seat Cover Interesting - it was to protect the seats from wet clothing after using the swimming pool. 2. T.V with no Pictures - Others have used the same unit you were in and the TV is working. Having said the above, we will however follow through with the kitchen utensil, crockery and bedding. We are glad that you think the complex is well set up and have great potential. We look forward to your next stay with us and hope that we can work out something for your benefit with the amount charge under ''Early Cancellation Policy'' of which we believe have turn you and your family against Le-Ric Motel. We apologize for this mishap and look forward as said to your next visit. Management.

We are a NZ samoan family who stayed at Le Rics with our 3 young children (6,4,4) and father, in 2 units in July 2010, for 7 nights.

Found Le Rics to be very well suited for our young family. Very spacious, and our kids loved it there, especially the swimming pool. The pool is deep and would need parental supervision in the pool for young children. Private, very comfortable, Jenny and the staff were very friendly and accomodating.

I'd highly recommend Le Rics. Our twins have allergies, so we chose Le Rics because we needed a kitchen to cook meals and wanted our whole family of five to be in one unit. Our father had his own Unit too and the kids slept there too, and enjoyed going back and forth between our units. Le Rics really suited our family needs perfectly. Loved the fact that we could put the kids to sleep in their own room, and have the lounge to ourselves in the evening to relax!

We have stayed at different accomodation places in Samoa, but for a Samoan acommodation, would rate this as definitely one of the 'better' accomodation in terms of cleanliness, service, privacy, and comfort. If you are after a Motel, self-contained - this is the place to go!

Faafetai lava Jenny and staff. Ed, Michelle and kids.

We are from Christchurch, New Zealand and had just gotten married in Savaii & went to Upolu to see some friends off at the airport & spend 2 nights there before heading back to Savaii to pick up our kids for our return to NZ.

We heard our friends were staying at Leric Housing Motel & they said it was really nice there so we rung & booked a room.
The owners Ricky & Jennifer are awesome people, really down to earth.

On our arrival Ricky was there at reception & was so welcoming & polite.
He had the staff bring breakfast into our room for us which was nice.
The rooms looked amazing was neat & tidy & very spacious, had 2 bedrooms with lounge, dining & kitchen. Ceiling fans throughout the unit & air con in the double bedroom. Very good value for ya money.

Having the rental cars there for hire was so useful for us, we hired one on our second day there & went on our own little tour round Upolu.

We definitely enjoyed our stay here & highly recommend it, staff & the owners are Awesome.

Both my traveling companion(73 yrs) and I stayed @ Leric's as a transit layover from Fiji and back to American Samoa. It's a lovely home style units and the owners Ricky and Jennifer were very helpful. They even provided shuttled services to Faleolo International Airport ($23 USD) which is cheaper than a taxi or mini bus, besides we've forgotten items in a minibus before and the driver never had the courtesy to come back. Ricky was our driver to and from the Airport. Breakfast is served every morning and there is a kitchen it one wants to do their own cooking. There are two separate bedrooms, one with a/c but there are fans throughout the unit and heat was never a problem. The hot water wasn't available on our return trip but I think that's due to staff forgetting to check, since it was only for a quick sleep we didn't mind. If you're going in for a family reunion/ conference/or just transit I would suggest this place.

We spent hours searching for a self-contained accommodation option in Apia for our recent 2-month work trip. We have a 14-month old son so we were quite specific in what we wanted - a 2-bedroom place with its own, fully-equipped kitchen, preferably serviced daily, with access to a pool. As the search continued, we grew more flexible about what we could do without - but then we found Leric on the web, and hoped our dilemma had been solved. And I'm happy it say - it was!

Leric consists of eight 2-bedroom apartments, and is run by the super-friendly Ricky and Jenny Craig. The Craigs are lovely people, they live on site which means they can be super-attentive to all their guests needs, but also manage to maintain a suitably discreet distance. Jenny and Ricky organised all the regular stuff with ease - laundry, bottled water and a dispenser, replacement of a microwave that wasn't working; but were also willing and able to go the extra distance - for example, we needed a nanny for our son for 1 - 2 hours a day, and jenny was able to find a wonderful woman from the neighbouring village for us.

The apartments are clean and bright and contained everything we needed. Each apartment has 2 bedrooms, a living area and dining room, a good sized kitchen, front and back porch, and a storage room for luggage. Our apartment was furnished simply but comfortably, with a queen sized bed and air conditioner in the main bedroom, and 2 singles (but no air con) in the 2nd bedroom. Hot water was available most of the time, and the kitchen was well stocked with eating and cooking implements, a stove, toaster, microwave, kettle etc. The living room had a TV. Each apartment also has a car port which is very handy. The apartment was kept clean by daily servicing (except Sundays) by the team of lovely cleaning ladies who we miss a lot!!

Leric offers a nice swimming pool (with no steps - we improvised by putting a plastic chair in the pool and using that to climb in and out!) and a tennis court. The pool is clean and we were so happy to have access to it on those hot Samoa afternoons.

Leric is about 15 minutes drive from Apia town, and if you stay there for a long period, or have a child, its quite handy to rent a car. Otherwise, taxis and buses are readily available.

Leric doesnt really offer food apart from breakfast - but they are planning to, and are currently building a dining fale and a bar.

Its not easy to find self-contained 2-bedroom places in Apia for short or medium term rentals; and its even harder to find accommodation that is clean, well-priced and with access to luxury amenities like a pool. leric ticks all of these boxes, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for self-contained accommodation.

Our daughter found this for us on the internet. Trusting websites is unusual for us as we come from an era where you spoke to a travel agent. However the prompt e-mail responses and friendly but professional communication gave us so much assurance. From the minute we arrived until we left Samoa, we felt overwhelmed with the Craig family hospitality. They were wonderful. Their apartments were clean and beautiful, their cars were modern, the gardens were private but inviting, the premises were secure and spotless, the service was next to none. We wanted to cook for ourselves and do our own washing, so Le Ric was ideal. However in saying this there was still the restaurant on site for those nights when we just didn't want to cook. Nothing was too hard or too much trouble. For us, we have made Le Ric Hotels our home away from home. Hope to see you there soon.
