Location is superb, a small local supermarket is next door and open till late.
Check-in was after midnight - no problem.
Staff was helpful and friendly.
Room is spacious but very simple. Beds are so-so, hot water is OK. Street outside is noisy from dawn till dusk.
From dusk till dawn - it's occasional barking dogs only.
AC is VERY noisy, I could not stand its rattle, really!
Breakfast is very basic: a banana and couple of toasts with jam.
Positive: the hotel is very near the down-town, so coming back after dark was more or less OK - I mean the dog issue! Dogs roamed right outside the hotel entrance, but somehow we managed to sneak inside after dark several times.
Tips: evening drink in the Marina bars is nice. Lots of T-shirts in a nearby local market!

After the reviews I was a bit disappointed because on arrival the rather unenthusiastic reception staff member could find no record of our booking. When she did she took us to a room on the ground level in the back corner that only had a small window. It was comfortable even though a little claustrophobic. Maybe that room was chosen for us because we have two small children so if that was the reason I appreciate it. The shower didn't have a shower head so it came out like a tap. There were signs in the room asking us to turn lights and aircon off and reuse towels and sheets to reduce energy waste. I'm wholly in support of using resources wisely but when the hot water didn't work we were advised to just let it run until it did. Ten minutes later I had a warm shower, not before the hotel attendant walked into the room while I was naked - just had time to cover myself with a towel! The hand basin tap wouldn't turn off either so there was more wasted water. A lot of mozzies in the room due to a small makeshift vent in the bathroom. Had to have them spray bug killer whole we were out so the smell was pretty awful and surely inhaling the fumes can't be good. Service was nice enough. Continental breakfast was toast, fruit and boiling water with a splash of coffee in it. Someone smoked outside our room and used the ashtray on our table which didn't get cleaned up. At the end of our stay we were asked what rate we were given. Why don't they have a standard rate? Why didn't they refer to our email correspondence? Biggest disappointment was that the courtyard was cordoned off because of renovations. Next time I'll stay somewhere with a pool.

I stayed at this place as I was travelling with a business colleague who had been there before and liked it for its location and the possibility of spending less at a B&B then a Hotel. First night they gave me an upper room which was more like a closet with an air conditioning and no window. I insisted on moving and next day got one of the so called deluxe rooms which really means it has more space. Also they are on the lower floor facing the internal patio and are very noisy as early risers are noisy and late sleepers stay talking in the patio. Rooms are clean but it is annoying that they ask every day if you want your room cleaned and look at you hoping that you will say no. Considering it is not cheap I insisted that it be cleaned. Bed mattress had seen better times, and stained bath mats and the single daily towel provided which invariably had holes in it provided the overall feeling of being cheap. And the breakfast was a joke. Perfect if you want to start your day with a fruit and a toast (lucky if there was something to put on the toast) but mostly everyone complemented their breakfasrt with items bought at the nearby markets.

Despite a number of good hotels in Apia I have made Apia Central my home. I have been astounded by the friendliness etc atmosphere and the amazing down to earth perception of the owners and staff. However my last trip was not very pleasing as I experienced an unwelcomed attitude shown by a lady staff member. I felt like I was not in Apua Central and I was pretty sad about that. Such behaviour was not necessary and hope other guests did not endure such ill treatment like I did
Other than that Apia Central is my favourite and I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to travellers who wish to stay close to everything
Thanx Apia Central

We were booked at another hotel but left them due to being unhappy with the rooms and found this place last minute and we booked 3 rooms .. thankful that we got all the kids under 10 for free .. rooms were spacious .. bathrooms were big and clean .. beds were comfortable and linen was clean .. aircon with a remote was a plus .. there was a small seating area outside our room where we spent a lot of time .. it has a shop next door that opens late .. seems the place is more for the business traveller and not familes as most people were on their laptops as we had complaints against us for the kids making too much noise .. we got a late check out for our bags only while we walked around Apia .. town is within walking distance .. lucky foodtown is close by for necessities .. only thing missing is they dont have a pool .. it doesnt have the best view (backs of buildings) but we still enjoyed our stay here and will be staying here again next month

I've stayed here several times. It is not fancy but nice. A handy downtown location. I like the courtyard. Be sure to reconfirm your reservations as we did have a mix-up with that once. The rooms with 3 beds are quite spacious.

We chose Apia Central because of it's downtown location and the proximity to the two markets. The staff was friendly, the room was what we expected. The AC was cold, we had requested a double but got a room with three twin beds, so we just pushed two of the beds together. I'd stay again for the location. We weren't ready to try and drive on the right hand side so we staying in town to get around renting a car and we're glad we did! The place is dusty but because it's in the heart of Apia we expected that. We felt like our things were safe, but we locked the room and tucked things away everytime we left the room. You just never know.... I'd recommend it for the adventurous and young at heart looking for a good deal. Also, if you're traveling as a family, the rates can't be beat if you're trying to save some dough. Just remember when you're booking, you get what you pay for. I paid $65 a night and I got what I expected!

From the moment my husband and I arrived from our late NZ flight we were able to check in and enjoy the clean, comfortable rooms until we left 7 days later. Basic luxury. I enjoyed the lovely complimentary breakfast with a different daily offering of koko araisa, kopai or porridge (island style) and the standard papaya, bananas, bread, tea and coffee. The bathroom is a bit dated but was clean and shower had running hot water. Excellent after hitting the markets, the local shops, beach and/or pool. We filled our fridge with coconuts to enjoy iced when we returned home. Had our last dinner at the restaurant only to realise we wasted a lot of money going out when we had a marvelous Chef right under our noses arghh!!! If you want a clean, comfortable, safe, central and affordable home away from home - then the staff at Apia Central will definitely make it happen. Rooms are serviced daily and there was security in the evenings so we always felt safe. ONLY NEGATIVE was WIFI was erratic but should still be mentioned as I had hoped to finish some online work which couldn't happen. Otherwise .... Thank you, thank you Apia Central - we will be back!!

First of all the workers are excellent, very helpful very charming and cheerful. The breakfast all I can said it's delicious I'm very happy with service and breaks . They try very hard to pleased the guess, but nothing they can do to negotiate with the price of the rooms if those rooms are not worth it for that price. The room too pricey no fercility no flannel no cutterly only a small fridge no shelves hahaha yeah no shelves what a big joke how we can put stuff in it if no shelf, room too dark. Bed not comfort waking up aching back no chair in the room to sit on and the curtain keep falling off, nearly hit me on the head with wood honestly .the motel needs to do some lots of update the owner needs to listen to the workers they have a lots of great ideas to help their business. She needs to listen to them and take those advise and don't forget they are not just server or workers. They are well educated people too. The owner will credit it from their(workers ) ideal too. Works together with them and respect their wishes they only try to help your business to be succeed. Hopefully she'll take the advise.
