Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The accommodation overall is nice and well situated close to Apia but unfortunately the night we stayed we were given a room with a bathroom that hadn't been cleaned from the previous stay (see pics). When I asked at reception for the bathroom to be cleaned and that we needed soap, towels and toilet paper all that we got was toilet paper. A second trip resulted in towels. We gave up... Showered in the dirty bathroom and went to bed (the sheets were clean!). The next morning I left my phone number so the manager/owner could at least have an opportunity to explain before I posted my review. I never got a phone call. I am returning in Seotember if you feel you want to make up for a disappointing stay.

My family and I stayed here for a week back in February. It was good. If you want a cheap place that has a shower, beds and aircon. This is the place to go. The aircon was really good! The shower had hot water (good for the kids) and the beds were just wooden bed with a thin layer of foam over it (I would definitely not call them mattresses) but they will still comfy and what you would expect for the price you pay. They had a kitchen area opposite our rooms but it was barely clean with basic utensils etc (that were also barely clean). I would suggest that if you stay here, buy some plastic plates, cups and utensils for health and safety reasons. The laundry lady - who has been a dedicated worker there for 13 years I might add - is just so lovely! It was $15Tala per load. The service from the staff was lovely but the overall look and cleanliness needs some attention for sure!

The Samoa Sport Lodge looks very inviting from the outside with pretty gardens. It is close to the University and sports complex. It is about a 10 - 20 min from central Apia depending on traffic.

We stayed in an upstairs "apartment" with a double bed, bunk and single bed. The room had a fridge but no TV. The air conditioner was noisy and we didn't really get a top quality nights sleep. Although the air conditioner cooled the bedroom, the cool air didn't make it's way into the living room. Although there were no cooking facilities inside, I saw a common area downstairs with cooking facilities.

Our biggest issue was the bathroom. It clearly hadn't had a clean in a very long time. There were hairs and body oil on the shower floor, the bathroom smelt very stale due to rotting mats on the floor and the shower water was barely lukewarm.

I definately do not recommend staying here.

We had booked a fully self-contained room. We arrived in the early morning of 12/03/20017 from the airport. First of all, they tried to put us in a non-self contained room. We promptly told them that this was not what we paid for. We were then taken to the room we ordered. The floor was filthy, dishes unwashed in the kitchen, terrible musky smell, mouldy bathroom tiles (floor and walls), no towel rack (it lay on the floor in the bathroom), beds were just a sheet on the mattress(no under-lay), no towels, no blankets nor bedspreads, no complimentary bathroom soap, no dishwashing liquid, no plug for the kitchen sink, dirty fridge, dusty furniture, bird poo on the veranda, tables, and chairs, dusty window sills and screens (bird poo even), no pots and pans, no knives, 1 fork, 4 spoons, broken front door handle and cobes everywhere. I mopped, wet-dusted, scrubbed as much as I could before we finally settled in to sleep on Sunday morning. We contacted Customer Service in Sydney on Sunday arvo and managed to get all our money back. Next morning we taxied to Tanoa Tusi Tala and believe me, it was heaven in comparison to what we had just experienced. Samoa Sports Lodge obviously have not had anyone in this part of their complex for quite a while. Just glad that we found much lovelier accommodation. Thank you Tanoa Tusi Tala. Goodby Samoa Sorts Lodge. I rated this place as terrible, then poor because I was not permitted to rate any lower. It was definitely very terrible, and very poor.

My family and i stayed for 1 week there was another family a large family that booked out onw whole side of the lodge we were not informed of this if we were we wouldn't have stayed this family's old lady would get up at 530am and walk up and down banging on a pot to wake her people up she woke everyone including our side up then at 7am there music started it was loud all day until 12midnight i complained but staff couldn't or wouldn't do a thing even though lots of people complained about the same thing drunk people walking around smoking weed at the tables one day at 5am for the 2nd day i was happy to see them go after 4days of that rubbish we were lied to over and over the staff kept telling us they were only here for 2days that was a lie.....Now as for the room we were told we were getting a room with an oven they said on installation they found a dead rat in it that ate through the wires and was told one will be installed in a day i can say with some degree they fulfilled this but pictures shown of the family room is not what we got. We got a room with badly set tiles that would cut your feet in the bathroom the main room basically all over the place the vanity in the bathroom has come away from the wall most of the power points don't work shower was horrible i thought i would need both feet amputated just by the sight of it alson the toilet has a leak behind it which can get bad if you haven't realized the half flush button sticks the kitchen comes with a microwave box with no microwave in it 1 spoon 2 forks 1 knife 2 plates and 1 cup hardly fit for a family on our 2nd to last night people had moved in below and again excessive music until 430am 🤬

2 adults staying 3 nights in Room 9. The room is towards the back and can sleep 5 adults (1 double, 1 bunk and 1 single bed)

Ceilings are mouldy. Beds are uncomfortable, the bunk squeaks. The bathroom door doesn't close properly from the outside. The bathroom had used soap in the sink and shower. Hot water does not work. The front door has a gap at the bottom so prone to insects. On night two, I moved the one bin in the room, and found 4 dead cockroaches & dust behind it. The room has no amenities (no kettle - you can ask to borrow one from the front desk), no microwave or mini fridge. Driveway needs a bit of work and after 9pm the gate is shut (but not locked so can be re-opened)

The rooms in the front of the lodge (1-6) seem nicer, walked past a couple that were open and saw a clear seating area unlike the room I had.

For the price paid ($50USD/day) and given the number of adults that could stay, its good enough for those on a budget.
