We stayed in the Villa, it was very roomy with a lot of space for the family and a lovely outdoor area and reasonably good cooking facilities to make breakfast. Unfortunately the bed in the main room is very hard so I did not sleep well whilst there. Unfortunately when I booked the website was hard to work through so I didn't book the right number of people in so it cost more than we budgeted for so it ended up being very pricey for our family of 4 so not giving us much spending money whilst there. Location is very nice and their son was very helpful in explaining where we could go on Samoa

My husband and I desperately needed a warm tropical lazy vacation and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay at the plantation. The pool is divine, our very large studio was comfortable and well stocked, and the peace and quiet was sublime. The hosts are an added bonus.

I cannot begin to express my gratitude to Joan and Paul. The love they’ve put into this beautiful place is beyond me! Helpful, kind and so accommodating! We arrived late and Paul went out of his way to take us to get some snacks etc as we didn’t have time but he managed to assist us and went completely out of his way to do this. This place feels wholesome, homely, healthy, clean and kind all in one. Stunning to wake up to the beautiful sunset. Fresh clean sheets. Paul is an amazing cook, whatever you feel like he will whip it up and it’s always made with so much love! They have made our experience a beautiful one, I wish I stayed there for my whole two weeks because as soon as I stepped in the Tanoa, I regretted being there. I wish I got to say goodbye. I really hope I return with my husband and baby. Just so I can see Joan and Paul again. When I returned home, I showed family and friends their YouTube videos that I had just found myself and watching and learning so much for about the beautiful plantation… I just couldn’t help talk everyone’s ears off about the stay we had with them at beautiful Ifiele’ele Plantation. God bless you always x Bianca

The facilities and environment that Paul and Joan have created at Ifiele’ele are just amazing! We stayed for a month using it as our base while we explored the delights of Upolu. It’s also a great place to just relax, read and chill by the pool.

We have stayed at many resorts in Samoa, and this one is our favourite! Our group stayed in 3 different types of accommodation, our one had a fully equipt kitchen and was stunning, comfy beds, beautiful bathroom and outdoor area. We loved how we could cook for ourselves, and also have an option to be cooked for, so we did lunches ourselves and we ate in their beautiful little restaurant space for dinner and breakfast which was delicious. The rooms were amazing, staff were so friendly and Joan and Paul the hosts went above and beyond. The pool and pool fale were gorgeous, and our children loved exploring the beautiful gardens, feeding the goats, and meeting the family duck. It was quiet and peaceful, and also very fun. There is also a tennis court there. Best accommodation you could ask for.

We absolutely loved our stay at Ifiele'ele Plantation! We have stayed at many places in Samoa. This is 1, or if not the best. The pictures do not do this wonderful place justice. We all felt relaxed comfortable. Our hosts Paul & Joan were excellent. (more like friends than Hosts) You wouldn't notice they were living on the same property. Giving us space & having us enjoy at our own leisure this amazing property. The grounds have alot of space for you to explore. See the goats, the wildlife & fauna around. Our Favourite was Relaxing by the 20 metre pool overlooking the Northern Coast from up the hill was one of the highlights. Amazing view. We Didn't get around to having a game of Tennis on the court or a round of Basketball which you can choose to keep you active or simple break of doing absolutely nothing. The accommodation is of high standard, fully equipped Kitchen etc with all the amenities you would expect. Even though we didn't use the kitchen much, except for breakfast. We took up the offer of having chef Paul & Joan cook for us for the 2 nights, The meals were delicious. (Got to try the Poke & Oka!) Looking forward to coming back with others! Thank you Paul & Joan for opening up your home for the Rugby World Up Matches on TV to the Irishmen! Faafetai Lava. Eamonn, Damian & Nick

take plenty of mozzie repelant, take tissues, soap. and the tv has no reception, and you will need a trip to a supermarket , because there is no food in the place. The plantation is well looked after, and you have seven goats, two dogs and a duck for company.

HI V. One of the best things about being in the accommodation business is the people we get to meet. You and your daughter were no exception - it was a pleasure to meet you both and learn a little bit about your interesting lives. I am full of admiration that, despite the many adversities life has thrown in your direction, you still manage to rise above it all and embrace each day by living life to the full!! For example, travelling to Samoa for the first time and staying at our little boutique, self-catering hotel. We do of course provide soap - did you not see it in the little dish in the bathroom along with the shampoo and conditioner? And yes, our facilities are self-catering which means you can prepare your own meals if you choose to do so. We do provide fresh fruit in season, direct from the organic plantation plus tea and coffee. Other than that you can buy supplies from the local supermarkets, the closest one being just 3km from Ifiele'ele. I did catch you watching TV once, or rather snoozing in front of the TV, so there is definitely some TV reception. I think that was when I brought you a piece of freshly baked banana cake which I seem to recall you thought was very good. Just one of the little freebie treats we provide for our guests from time to time. I hope the wedding went well and that you had a comfortable trip back home. That was exciting when your driver turned up later than expected, but at least we had a back up plan to get you to the airport on time. All the best and keep on counting your blessings every day. from Ifiele'ele Plantation

Really wonderful place to stay on Upolu. We had two families of four and rented both the studio and villa. The villa would be pretty tight with more than a single family of five. Wonderful staff that would collect local fruit for us and even climb the coconut trees to harvest fresh coconuts for us. The host - Paul - was extremely welcoming and generous, offering us endless supplies of plantation-grown fruit as well as their homemade dried bananas. The residences are lovely, with modern appliances and very well stocked kitchens. Beds were super comfortable, and the cleaning crew came through every day to make our beds and tidy the residences. It was like a B&B rather than a self-catering ABNB/VRBO! The pool was also amazing, with a great covered seating area for meals and lounge chairs on which to relax. If you have a choice, rent the villa over the studio. The owners' residence is above the studio and makes the studio quite noisy: you can hear every footstep, door opening/closing and dog walking on the floor above the studio's bed. The wifi doesn't really work in the studio but is quite strong in the villa. Also, there are two dogs that live on the property, something to keep in mind if you're not a dog person. One of the dogs is super friendly to adults but isn't the best around young children. Really a wonderful place to stay, we had such a memorable 10 days in Samoa and Ifiele'ele was a big part of that!

Response from Joan M, Owner at Ifiele'ele Plantation
Responded 15 Jul 2019
HI there PinkLemon Travel Thank you for your review. It was wonderful to meet your two families and to see you all making the most of each and every day and what Samoa has to offer. We are also glad you enjoyed Ifiele'ele Plantation. Our sincere apologies for the disturbances while you were in The Studio, but thank you for the tip. A friend of ours and her daughter stayed upstairs for 4 nights during your stay and in retrospect we probably should have asked her to be careful about noise that carries below. We will certainly be more mindful in future and I have already asked Paul to 'tread lightly'. My footsteps are of course much lighter!! Just to clarify the number of people that can sleep in The Villa, normally the Villa is rented with 3 air-conditioned bedrooms so can easily and comfortably accommodate 6 adults. Your situation was a little different due to the configuration of your families. We let the 3rd bedroom with The Studio whereas we normally only rent The Studio to a couple or couple with 1 child max, all sleeping inside The Studio. There is additional sleeping space in The Villa upstairs in the mezzanine and on the couch in the lounge although these areas do not have air-con so comfort is compromised for those not acclimatised to the tropics. However for those who are acclimatised The Villa can accommodate more than 6. And yes, our big dog can be a bit of a handful although we do our best to control him around children who can get him excited. Again apologies for any inconvenience in this regard. Once again, thank you for staying at Ifiele'ele and for your review. We hope to see you again sometime. Best regards Pau and Joan

From the moment we arrived at this exquisite location we were made to feel at home. Joan and Paul have created a boutique experience that is truly unique. This was my 5th trip to Samoa, I have stayed at many of the high end resorts many of which are wonderful. But staying with Paul and Joan is like staying at a friends place. Generous with their hospitality but respectful of your space. The pool is fabulous, and there are many spots to lounge about. Our days were filled with swims, scrabble, cooking simple meals in the very well equipped kitchen, naps, bat watching at night, eating fruit off the plantation and wanders around the property. Go to this place with your family, we were a family of 4, an Aunty and a Grandad.
